  1. Found out after work why Dad had a flat yesterday, somehow, the tire valve back out nearly all the way out of the stem on the right rear.........while it was sitting in the lot at the nursing facility Mom is currently in....... Luckily, since he had to take it to a local NTB since he couldn't find his tool for that, they actually fixed it for free! They also offered to put the tire back on, but he didn't want to press his luck and risk getting charged for that, so he brought it home and swapped it back around himself.
  2. That's always a possiblity, just be happy you found him while he was still kicking.
  3. Pleased, no. With any luck though, his stupidity will be an educational to others so they know not to be stupid, or let others be that stupid in their presence............although with alcohol involved, that's still too much to hope for.....
  4. Dang man, hope everything gets better, but at least everybody is still on this side of the lawn!
  5. What's funny around me is that the West Chicago PD didn't really do much, but from around 12:00-12:30am on, I never heard another boom the last couple nights?! Wonder if they're letting it kinda slide, so long as it's not past midnight.......
  6. Yup, and if those guys suffer any from PTSD and were trying to help us last night, they very well may have spent more time on the ground and/or taking cover on the other side of the van and 200 than anything else while we were changing that flat, it was that close to the station we were in!
  7. It would be nice if we didn't have to look over our shoulders in case we had to take cover on the other side of the van and 200 because of any possible stray fireworks. Just glad it been ranining so much around here, less chance of something catching fire.
  8. '33-'34 Pro Street Ford yesterday, then a '55 or '56 Ford 2dr sedan tonight at the gas station Dad and I changed his flat at.
  9. Be glad you guys weren't helping Dad and I changing the flat tire on his van tonight, we were in a gas station lot and had multiple mortors going off a couple blocks away while we were trying to get it up the tires swapped around, then back on the ground so we could head home to the gun power fog tht surrounds home........
  10. Sounds like most of the anti-PC crybabies that have suddenly appeared
  11. Sadly, that is probably one of the most accurate things you can teach somebody on the topic of driving.............
  12. Speaking of displeased, fireworks are a booming tonight........
  13. No offence, I agree with you there 100%
  14. I think the Chevy and Ford vans came after GMC dropped their sponsorship of the show and stopped supplying new vans and they actually had to provide their own like on Dukes of Hazzard.
  15. Actually, I'm kinds curious too! I do plan on buying a couple more snap kits and a 1/16 through work once they become available again, but have no interest in selling them.......not sure what I'll do with them, one might become the black, pre-Duke version of the car from "Happy Birthday General Lee" though.
  16. What's irking me...........people whining about "PC"........
  17. I've been telling people that have mentioned this that this is just greed and stupidity, maybe a little ignorance too........
  18. I swear as soon as I read this thread the other day, then all the outside of Illinois fireworks store ads started to play on the and radio around here!
  19. It had to be the toys, all the ones I had were all black with the red stripe, although the AMT kits have always showed that it was the 3 color job instead.
  20. Yeah, the Gunmetal/Red Stripe/Black is right, but a lot of the toys were just black with a red stripe sticker or tampo print. Never noticed the movie van was like that too, though.
  21. Can we get an "All of the above"?
  22. My Sister's boyfriend typically drives the 20 year old Camry that his family owns, but has also had the suspension rebuilt on it twice in the time they've had it, and luckily doesn't have the V-6 that tended to sludge up and fail on owners, that Toyota usually blamed on said owners, even if there were maintenence records showing regular oil changes.
  23. Finally got a haircut, with all the stuff that's been going on and the place I normally going kinda getting pushed out of business, I haven't had one since October or November!
  24. Outside of the color and back window, I like that.
