Check your muffler fluid, M'aam?
Joe Handley replied to Draggon's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's not hard for cardboard, we've always had a dumpster set aside for just cardboard at my HTU, I wouldn't be surprised if dealers are regulated on their disposal methods for containers that carry automotive fluids either. -

Guess you've never heard of recycling then, no reason a dealership can't have a dumpster specifically for cardboard or there be something to recycle all the plastic containers used for various fluids. -

Depending on how any recall related to this is handled, if you want to register the affected vehicle, you may have no choice! If they treat this like some states treat recalls and emissions testing, you can not renew your cars plates until the recalls are done on your vehicle or if you haven't had the emissions testing done. Sounds like the IRS might be looking more closely at VW now too, the owners of those cars ended up with $51m in ill gotten tax breaks too! -

The Feds have made VW pull all fraudulently built new and used diesel cars off their sales lots since they no longer conform to US Emissions Standards, not sure if non-VW owned used lots have to do the same. If VW does "fix" these cars, power and mileage will likely suffer, as will resale value. With any luck, they will be fined severely, then probably find themselves on the wrong end of many, many lawsuits from their now quite angry customers who now have cars that are lower in value, as well will be suffering from lower mileage and performance if the computers are reflashed to eliminate that cheat code and make the emissions system work like it should be! Don't feel one bit sorry for VW itself, although I do feel bad for their dealers and salesmen, they have to deal with the buying public that either won't be told that they can't get a diesel because the cars are no longer legal for sale in the US, people who like to be jerks and give the dealership staff carp about VW's criminal activity here, and any local news agencies that smell blood and have to run off to these dealerships to see how they are handling the situations as they happen, all while having these 4 wheeled NoX factories taking up useable space on the lot as well as having to pay for the debt they incurred aquiring them that still need paying. -

I believe they're also for VW too, not sure who would be so stupid to think that a flex joint gasket/seal should be called that though. -

Lol, I was wondering how that title sounded with a German Accent, or maybe while being screamed by their one time Chancelor that kinda helped VW get their start. -
Is this kit worth anything to anyone? Pontiac
Joe Handley replied to freakshow12's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have the Monza version of that kit, not a spectacular kit by any stretch, but I kinda want to put a ZR1 chassis under it. -
LOL, last time Mom was in the hospital for an extended stay and I was going to head over for a visit after work, I had a coworker get me a Subway Meatball Sub that I never got to eat until I got there. While trying to figure out how to reheat it, I realized that I wish I had a roll of aluminum foil and my Jeep..........then how paranoid that sounded out of context

Honestly, I think he was trying to start something with me and I wouldn't play ball. He had todrive past me when he looped the pumps and wouldn't even look at me as he passed!
-
I guess, considering all I did to do so was try to pass him then shrug my shoulders in a "what's your problem?" Manner, I don't see why a 50+ year old man would have such a road rage temper tantrums!

I managed to get my birthday off today, so I went to fill the 200 up and then take it to the shop I had the new tires put on at for a rotation (which will just be the front and back tires on each side swapping ends with each other), then will hit Buona Beef for a birthday sandwich (free with customer card :D ) On my way to the gas station, I go to go around an old GMC TopKick flat bed with a fairly young tree laying on it on a 4 lane road. I was speeding, but not by a dangerous amount over (they could easily raise the limit 5-10mph safely). As I go to pass that truck on the left, it cuts me off and I just stayed behind it since going around on the right wasn't going to be worth it at that point. As we continue on, the road cut down to two lanes and residential, then the driver starts dropping below the limit (a sensible 30mph limit). Not knowing why, I just hung back and let him do what ever. We got to the corner the station was on and both happened to pull in to the property and he stopped cold in a random spot before we got to the pumps. I sat behind him for a few moments before pulling to the wrong side of the e85 pump (whole thing must have had me flustered?!). Next thing I know, he has his window down a few inches and is screaming at me from across the lot, then loops around the pumps and leaves?!

Barracuda....Back from the dead
Joe Handley replied to SfanGoch's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
"Only 185 hp?" That's still one of the more potent engines in it's class and there will finally be a hotter car that will revive the GLH badging from the Omni, supposedly turbocharged with the bigger, Chrysler 2.4l engine. If it has the potential of the old Neon SRT4, it should be nasty quick with some tuning. -

Why is people seem to forget that the Dart has always just been an economy car, not to mention that the 4 cylinder have as much, if not more pwer than the smaller 6 and 8 cylinders the old ones had -
What non-auto model did you get today?
Joe Handley replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Paid off the layaway on that little R/C Suzuki Jimny today, now I just nead to get bearings to replace the bushings before I build it. -
What did you see on the road today?
Joe Handley replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I saw a late model Ferrari and Lambo this past weekend, not sure which the were as I really could care less, then amazingly, I saw a fairly rough but intact for the Midwest Late 80's Escort GT while running around today?! -
Dang, Dean Jones just a few days ago and now Martin Milner too?! At least they lived long, full lives!

Gotta love what happens when excentricity and WW2 aircraft engines come together! -
Wow Doc, haven't seen much of you in a while!
