2013 Dodge Dart !
Joe Handley replied to moparmagiclives's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Aaaaaaand who ever said it needs 4 more cylinders is as wrong as you calling it an Alpha. People seem to keep forgeting this is 2014, not 1964 as well as their automotive history. First off.......it's ALFA, not Alpha, if you're going to call out a brand, at least spell it right. Second, the Dart wasn't a muscle car back then, it was an economy car, just like it is now. Sure you could get it with a with 2 doors and a 340 or 383, but for every one of those, there were probably 100 Slant 6 or low compression 318 4 door Darts that also came off those same lines. This is also 2014, almost '15, modern economy cars do not have V-8 power, that's been gone since the 80's and was replaced with either high power n/a 4's, boosted 4's, or shoehorned V-6's, 2 doors are all but gone too, times have changed. If you want a V-8 powered 2 door, Dodge will happily sell you a Challenger R/T, a 2 door, V-8 powered Dart is just redundant. -

An 80's SVO Turbo motor or that new 2.3l motor that the Focus ST and Mustang will be getting would be cool in one of those! -
It does look like a Model A, kinda cool actually! Wonder if it's a real car from back in the day, or a modern creation made to look that way?!

Geez, that V-10 must weigh half of what the rest of the car does?! -

What do you drive?

A while back I got to thinking about something after seeing one of those on the way home from work, "What Would a Show Rod Builder Do". Might be interesting to see one of those reworked with some sort of longer than stock tube frame, big V-8 (maybe from a Titan pickup), reworked to look like a cross between a gasser and a 60's style show rod. Ok, I'll lock that twisted part of my imagination back up now............. -

Isnit weird that the FX kinda looks a bit Buick like while the FJ looks more like a Chevy? -
Corvettes and trunks
Joe Handley replied to Mike Kucaba's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Difference is though, the GTI started out as a practical car and was made sporty, most purpose built sporty cars have no practicality what so ever. -

Looks like an early Holden, but what's with the lack of a roof? -
It's hard coming up with ways to refer to throttle and filling the car when running a flex fuel car too Tom. Since it's usually some variation of licquer, I've often wondered if using the term, "opening the taps" when you hit the throttle, or "being low on booze/hooch" when getting low on fuel, or "going to get the car licquered up" when going to top it off might ever become terms used for alcohol fueled cars. I tend to use the phrase "pull the trigger" when it comes to R/C cars and trucks since most of them use pistol grip style controlers, and come close to saying that about 1/1 cars and trucks too.

That's what makes this car such a monster, as long as the car is "powered up" the car is making it's full torque potential, even when not spinning, then adding the traction of 4 drive tires to that instantly available 600+ ft/lbs of torque and then you have that! Wonder if it has some sort of advanced traction control that controls any wheel spin in a way to make the tractive effort the same at all 4 corners too?

Haven't run across it yet, but then again, I'd just trash it since I don't drink any coffee, let alone Starbucks. -

I saw that, it's a shame she's gone, I enjoyed her on SNL and Designing Women. -
There wasn't a whole lot going on there, I had to stretch my time there to 4 hours, and that even includes the time spent sitting and eating with a coworker as well as going out to get him from the lobby and getting him signed up to get in the door once he got there. It was better than last years, which was barely with the fuel to get to Schaumburg and back from West Chicago. My boss missed last years, but after this year's, told a customer that for the price of the round trip, a ticket (as a consumer instead of a vendor), and food, you could pick up two 6-packs of a good beer and a nice cigar and get more out of that.

That's how my Sister's '14 Challenger is, and the R/T buckets make it worse.
