I didn't think the original movie car used billboards, it was just a straight up triple black 340 Cuda with electrical issues and Cragars.

Showed this to Dad, he even liked it! -
Not sure about the Dodge, but that Turbine Car is the more recent Johan offering, apparently they were given the chance to buy that tooling and did! Both of those are on my to buy list now too!

That Mustang is serously nice looking in person!

No wonder I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary about the test shot on display today, that's cool!

Wow, looks fantastic, amost like they took a late 1960's exploritory sketch and brought it up to spec for the 2020's! -
Cool, thanks Lee! I was a bit tired and frazzled after work, especially with Mom going back into the hospital and trying to figure out what I needed to bring over to her.

Another Tesla and 2 C7 Stingrays. -
Wait, I must be missing something, was there in fact a wreck, or some idiot just parking across 3 lanes waiting for a turn lane to open, or both.....and as in my question #2 causing question #1 to happen? Sorry, kinda tired and have alot on my mind right now.

Mom is back in the hospital again, as soon as I told one of my new bosses what's going on, she asked if I needed to split and then said if something came up before the end of my shift, to go ahead and take off for the Hospital!

That's exactly how the roof of that old Caddy looked when we put the swingset on the roof and tied it down!

Saw a beat up '74 Nova, then a nice '66-'67 Chevelle followed by an equally nice '67-'68 Mustang, all within a mile or so tonight. -
It was the same for TRU, buy a Power Wheel and pull up in a Sunfire or Eldorado (not joking on either there), buy a Little Tikes back yard play set and roll up in an Infinity Sedan, buy a couple 50lb bags of playgound sand and sand box then drive a drop top Ferrari to the front door to get the sand (yes, I have see that too?!) And come back with friends car to pick up sand box, tied a full swing set to the roof on an old FWD Seville sedan too. The real surprise was the two couples that came and picked up at least a 1/2 ton (literally at least 1000lbs) and spread it between their minivans. One van was one of the later versions of the old Plastic Chevy Lumina Vans and the other was an early and then still fairly new to the market Windstar Minivan. By the time we got the two vans loaded with about the same weight between the front and rear wheels, the Windstar was practically dragging while the plastic Chevy took the weight like a champ!

Honestly, the ability to get all touchy feely with new products it kinda nice, especially on the R/C side of things, and just seeing in person how the new styrene products look also is kinda nice, both of which you will never get through a computer, tablet, or phone screen. Then there's the chance to talk to the company reps you would normally only talk to on the phone and finally put faces to names. I've met some solidly good industry people that way in years past. On the consumer side of things, there were more and more people showing up every year until the I Hobby people had their little anti-union tantrum and moved the show to Ohio, nearly killing the show in the process. There were a couple years the R/C rock crawling club I was involved in had active displays going (basically, we build obsticals and played with our trucks on them while people watched all weekend long ) and the club president swore we had 120k+ walk past our little corner booth at the far end of the Stephens Center on just that Saturday! People were willing to come out and see and were generally excited during the run up to the convention, still are to some extent even though it's still not going to be what it once was.

Yeah, pretty much.

Used to work for Toys "R" Us, been there, put that on the roof.........

Not only that, but the part that bothers me is that this would be the equivalent me running into somebody who wandered out infront of my Jeep on a dark road and even though the police would probably find me innocent, the next of kin coming after me because I hit the person and possibly because the brakes on Jeeps of that generation kinda suck in the best of circumstances.............

Sounds like Rosemont, I've been behind the scene some there during set up when the HTU I work for was going to run a sales booth on public days and unloading our truck then putting the product on display were about the only things we were allowed to do. Then you had to dodge the 500lb union stewards who were racing around on Cushman motor carts checking to make sure somebody wasn't doing his guys' job, what in reality should have been a 4 hour job took 10 by the time we got back to the store so I could sign out and hop in the Jeep to head home. Granted I will say that I was on the clock that whole time on one of my days off, and ended up sitting around while there for a few hours, but it was more or less a waste of 30 hours of combined labor to do 12-15 hours of work for the store. I swear if you wanted to make a disparaging parody video of unions as a whole, just run film while they set up for a convention in Rosemont.

Construction workers -
I just realized something, I'm mentioned to Mom that I'm going that way a few times in the last couple days and she has yet to tell me I need to stop at Country Donuts on the way home

They have a generic booth there with the most basic amount staff to advertise the presence of all of their magazines, but that's about all I've ever seen out of them.

I'm curious too, Round 2, Moebeus, and Pegusus were there last year, but they were the only ones I remember seeing. After the fiasco of the year before where they held the show in Ohio, I think last year's show in this location was a last minute decision and they couldn't get some of the companies in on this show or something along those lines, as it was small and barely worth the drive to Schaumberg from West Chicago for me even though I was only paying for fuel and going on a vendor day.
