2013 Dodge Dart !
Joe Handley replied to moparmagiclives's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think the extra well padded leather seats make it even worse, I have less head room, less leg room, and it's hard for me to get in and out of that than it was for me in her '06 Charger SE, and my 200 feels huge in comparison. I did find the Charger wasn't as easy to get into as the 200 either and finally came the conclusion that even though they had the same basic roof line, the Charger's was longer, flatter, and lower than that of the 200/Sebring/Avenger........then the Challenger feels slightly chopped from there?! -

I can't believe you have so much room in that Challenger darquewanderer, my Sister's '14 R/T Classic has less room overall than my smaller Chrysler 200 has and when I sat in a sunroof equipped Dart at this year's autoshow, it had about the same room as her Challenger! -
Depending on the alcohol, that could have been fairly pleasureable That said, I'm surprised they didn't see if there was a zoo to donate the critters too.

Having spent almost all of my working life on camera in one store or another, how do these people (cops included), not think the camera would spot them?!

My birthday is coming up mid-month and Dad asked me if there was anything specific I wanted for my birthday..............and I couldn't think of anything for the first time in a couple years! Money has been tight enough that there were times I wondered how I was going to pay for fuel to get to and from work once my bills were paid without selling off my 200 (at a loss), Jeep (for almost nothing), or R/C's that weren't being driven at the time (short answer, credit card). The store is doing well enough that I'm getting decent hours again, which means decent money coming in, and then my last paycheck ended up not having any bills to pay from it, so while I did spend some of it, I still have enough to tide me over financially until my next paycheck.......which will be in right before my birthday! I'm doing just well enough that I can pay down what I put on my card and can put money away for the rest of my car insurance that is due in January, then for tires and alignment on the 200 after that!

Funny you mentioned that Slusher, after daily driving a Jeep Cherokee on 15" rims in 70-75 series all terrains for 9 of the 11 years I've owned it, I still watch myself over speed protrusions, rough driveway entrances, roads that are mid resurfacing, and roads in need of resurfacing at a bare minimum while driving my stock height Chrysler 200 on the factory 18's in 50 series tires!

I don't get the steelies, but it is interesting. Looks like it's computer generated though. -

What did you see on the road today?

Here's a link to their site. http://www.teslamotors.com/ It's pure electric, so it needs to be plugged in to charge, but should be able upwards of 300 miles per charge with the big battery. Talked to a guy at work last year that drove from suburban Chicago well into Michigan on 1 charge with his! The accelleration is phenominal too, there's video of one with the big battery racing a new C7 Vette and after multiple passes, the wins were fairly even between the two! It also aced NHTSA's crash tests, including causing the roof pillar crush machine to shut down to prevent it from damaging with itself. -

Wow, how many miles are on it are on that PT and weren't those "interference engines"? -
I drove that way tonight, if it was one if the hotter Altimas or Maximas, 80mph might have been possible if he made a run from a dead stop at the nearest sign. No doubt he could have hit 100mph if he had just flat blown through the sign, but that would have cranked the stupidity level way up even higher than it already was!
-
Please explain?!
-
Still not as impressive as the one across town from me, he corkscrewed it at 80 to 100mph in somebody's driveway, managing to hit the house 4-5 feet above the drive, then nearly punched all the way through the cinderblock back wall of the garage.......all on a residential street with minimal runup room! http://patch.com/illinois/st-charles/police-car-traveling-100-mph-hits-west-chicago-house-driver-trapped

Don't think I've ever seen anybody shoplift anything other than food that might be worth it...........and even then, that's only of they were so poor they could barely afford the wear and tear on their shoes to walk to the store!

We were trying to figure out exactly which Nissan was driving and how he got it going the reported 80-100mph in that spot, as it's a residential street and T-Intersection! All they had announced when I posted this was that it was a 4dr Nissan, maybe a SUV. Outside of a 3.5l Altima or Maxima as well as the Juke Turbo, I can't think of any Nissan matching those descriptions that would be that quick?! I'm not sure how easily my Sister's Challenger R/T Classic w/5 speed auto would pull that off, and those 3.5l Altimas and Maximas should be pulling pretty close numbers to my 3.6l Chrysler 200, which should be slightly slower than that Challenger in the acceleration department. I doubt it could be the Juke, since it's full, un-crunched length is still shorter than the remains of the wrecked car after hitting the corner of the house (5 feet off the ground no less!) While corkscrewing it's way up the driveway and through the cinderblock back wall of the garage!

Just wait until that midsized car hits the streets, it's supposed to start around $30k........those just might sell better than hot cakes! -

Tomorrow: "Babysit" Mom while Dad is working on the garage and find the time to go to the bank and fill the 200 when Dad isn't doing that. Sunday: Work 11am-5pm who knows after work Monday: Spend more time with Mom while Dad is doing more on the garage. -

I don't know, 193k before any kind of failure in an enviroment that isn't any better than ours is pretty good, especially if his van weighs as much as my Folk's Town & Country does.
