  1. Lol, I'm not as worried about the back ones, but the two behind my feet scare the snot outta me!
  2. While back my power driver's seat in my Jeep quite working and a couple weeks back I was talking to a customer at work that himself works for a local junk yard and asked him if they had any "late model" Cherokee's with non power seats while I was helping him/we were B.S.ing and he said he would check for me. Turns out not only did they have one, but he pulled it for me and delivered it to the store for only $25! Now I just need to pull the seat and junk power track out and swap them.......well, I need to drown all four bolts in PB Blaster for a few days first
  3. I think a lot of the kits that represent 50's through late 70's American cars and trucks..........probably have to go on a few chemically induced trips to come up with some of the ideas though. Look at vintage pics and just try to go as far over the top as you can possibly go!
  4. Never seen that one before, actually looks right too?! If you even get one of those and resin cast them, let me know! If it's 1/20, it wouldbe perfect for Losi's Trail Trekker micro scaler Wonder which chassis that body is mounted on, looks like the Venom Mini Giant that I used to own.
  5. Wow, and I thought Dad's '86 Pontiac 6000 was junk!
  6. Yup, only XJ's I've seen in scale have been either 1/64 from Matchbox and now Johnny Lightening (still need to find the latter brand), Proline has a couple lexan R/C body shells available, then there was a guy in Germany that had been selling resin bodies and complete running R/C trucks..........the bodies alone were $300-$400 and the RTR was closer to $3,000-$4,000! I could buy a 1/1 Cherokee for less than that! Some Chinese diecast maker was supposedly going to be producing a 1/24-1/25 scale '84 with a 4 cylinder at one point a couple years back as an anniversary model for the ones that were sold there under licensing with AMC, then Chrysler, then Daimler Chrysler. Now that I think of it, there also was a "Land of the Lost" XJ from the TV show, but it was somwhat Palmer like in it's overall appearance...........although it at least looked like a Cherokee
  7. I think it was the head design myself, Chrysler's 2.7l V-6 had similar issues and I'm wondering if the heads were designed to run hotter to try and help control emissions. Get oil hot enough it can sludge up and if that happens in the heads, the return ports can get plugged up trapping oil in the heads and aggrevate that issue and starve the rest of the engine of much needed oil.
  8. Are you talking about the ones that would sludge up within 50k and require at least a head rebuild if the engine didn't die from oil starvation first? I remember reading about those and how Toyota would refuse to do repairs on cars that were still under warranty, going so far as to blame the owner for lack of maintenence.......even if they took it to the dealer for oil changes that might have been as late as at 3001 miles since the last one. Thought they had a 4 cylinder that had that problem too.
  9. Well, apparently the smugglers and coyotes love them too, can you imagine the story this one's owner is going to get
  10. Mine is the only one left of the four we've owned since....well....October '92, and it only has 157k on it, last 3 all had over 200k on them before being totaled or scrapped..........not letting it go anytime soon either! It's clawed it's way through quite a bit since I bought it in '03 and plan on keeping it for as long as possible.
  11. Apparently, there are a number of pictures of that XJ on the internet
  12. Honestly, I don't even think a lift is needed for that crossing, looks like mine would make it through that without dipping the calipers in the floodwaters.
  13. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! That is awesome Austin, I'll have to post that on the Jeep forum after work tonight! I don't know why nobody has ever kitted one of these trucks, it would probably sell better than the endless reissues of Tri-5 Chevys, Camaro's, and/or '32 Fords. I'd probably buy a case or two, even if it was just one kit at a time!
  14. and yea, I still is one too
  15. Anybody else wondering if the driver of that Caliber has one of these?
  16. Ooohhh, must be from the part of Detroit the FD's have left to just burn if something catches fire.
  17. Considering how badly they rolled over, I'm surprised the Bronco II and '90-early 00's Explorers aren't on the list. I've ridden in a TTB Explorer as well as a IFS Explorer that were in decent shape and at low speeds, both had more body roll that my Cherokee did when all 4 shocks were shot while taking corners in a fairly aggressive manner.
  18. Just got back from the body shop and the body man there, who is a friend, only noticed that damage to the trim too. Mom wondered if he has warrants and the body guy suggested he isn't currently licensed to drive.
  19. Guess somebody put a small, grainy video of it on Facebook............guess that's appropriate for a truck called Bigfoot http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=3820640920443
  20. AAARRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just got rear ended little over an hour ago and the SOB made a run for it while I was on the phone with 9-1-1 Right now this is the only obvious damage, I'm going to take it to a body guy I know tomorrow morning before work.......guess it's a good thing I got screwed on hours tomorrow after all.
  21. You mean that the engine can be used to create electricity to power the motors and drive the front wheels? Like diesel locomotives have been using with great success for 60+ years hauling people and freight and helped to power pre nuke submarines
  22. The point is that you can drive 25-40 miles on only electricity and if you're just bombing around town and don't drain the battery enough to need the engine, you just plug it in at home. If you live in an area that has put in charging ports or have access to outlets, you can plug in while shopping, or at work, all the better. While trying to fine stations to buy E-85 from, I discover that Stratford Square Mall in Bloomingdale, IL! Not sure if there are any other malls that offer it off hand, I'll have to check the KeenDriver app on my phone to know for sure.
  23. Model, very nice one though!
  24. I had been thinking the same thing!
  25. I thought they were boat anchors.............................
