Wow, that C-4 Vette greenhouse fits the Futura nicely! -

Ok, did some more work on it after work today, made shelves for the top to sit on and span the gap between the body and interior assembly as well as started to fix some of the areas where I ground off too much with my Dremel to fit the bubble to the car.

Thanks David, I think I needed to clear my mind some on this one, again, I'm thinking that week of going nuts on that Ecto-1 kit based Limo may have helped with that!

Thanks to you too! I’m going to have to go back and watch that video again now too I’ve found recently that Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh from Phineas and Ferb as well as Milo Murphy’s Law is on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, maybe I’ll tag them at some point as this particular build progresses since they were 2/3 of the writing team on it!

Thanks, it’s appreciated!

I dug the space ship ‘57 out the other night, this is where it is right now, got an actual mounting surface for the top all set up, though I want to get some vinyl tape to cover the glass while filling the areas I got carried away with the Dremel.

Are we road tripping, or Cannonballing here?! If it was just a road trip, it's hard to beat a minivan for eating up the miles and putting stuff!
-
I found this on the car, if it will help the build any! https://www.streetmusclemag.com/features/confessions-of-a-cannonballer/

I wonder if that car still exists in this for today?!

Whoa, I thought there was something wrong at first, I didn’t realize that was a fluorescent bulb and lamp shade!

I remember that article!

Went to the club meeting with my current projects, most of which are waiting on primer, one is just getting under way. -

Thanks David, now that I'm at this point and all the major work is done, I'm going to step away from it for a few days and go back to see what else might need to be done after showing it at this stage at the model club meeting tomorrow night. I think Aykroyd's thought was to have somewhat of a sinister appearance to the car, as well as to have some supernatural abilities of it's own, like being able to dematerialize as a getaway tactic if the cops started chasing them. I'm not too crazy about blacking out the chrome like in the second rendering, so I'm thinking of either flat coating the chrome or stripping it and painting a contrasting color that would fit with the overall look that he was going for with it without being as "bright" as chrome. -

Ok, here’s my tub vs the box stock tub, also made the door pulls too, though I may continue to shape them into something more appropriate for the car. -

Got more work done on the interior tub, sanded the seat texture off the front bench and scribed in the basic shapes of the Eldo’s seat inserts and went a bit overboard on the rear door cards, still need to make the arm rests before I attach the cards to the sides of the tub. Now by the time I’m done with this tub, the dash is going to be the only thing left box stock? -

Funny you mentioned Midnight Purple, I keep thinking a color like that would look good against black on the Aykroyd 1st Draft car, especially in the areas that are red on the movie cars. I have no idea what I’m going to paint the Limo though, since that is A LOT of car and I want to keep it classy like a “Professional Car” like a hearse, limo, flower car, ETC should be, but I don’t want to riff that much off the Thundertaker and paint it silver either. -

This is where I saw it at, it’s from when the Ecto-1 was restored for the video game that came out some years back. -
Mine was in 1997 in my 1985 Lebaron GTS turbo sedan, 61 in a 45 near the Dupage airport coming home from my Sunday closing shift at the St. Charles, IL Toy's "R" Us, paid the ticket at the West Chicago Police station that night in cash, thought I had to go and cash a paycheck I hadn't done so with yet at the Jewel/Osco Mom and I worked at at the time......while Mom was working that night........got needled about by a coworker of ours there there for a little while after that too.............

Thanks David, once this one is primer ready, I think I'm going to dig out my second kit and make it as Dan Aykroyd had originally intended for the movie, but wouldn't work due to all the night scene. Apparently it was to Black and Purple with Black Lights being used for the emergency vehicle lights instead of the White and Red with Blue Lights on the cars in the movies. Here's the only renderings based on what Aykroyd has said that people have made for that that I can find though. I was thinking that having an Ecto-1 that looked like the original movie car on the outside, but fitted out on the inside like I'm trying to do here would have been a great movie premier limo if there had been the opportunity to have one. Load up the remaining guys from the original movie and the kids from Afterlife and use it to roll them up to the red carpet, though even what I'm building here and/or the Thundetaker I posted a few days ago would be good for that too, plus the Thundertaker actually exists! -

Ok, the tub is more fleshed out, made the driveshaft hump and taped that in folate for now, also started making my own door cards and will blend them into the tub sides once I get those closer to done.
