  1. Thanks, I definitely needed this today!
  2. Thanks Snake, he’s in the ER at the local hospital right now waiting on the results of their Covid test since he had a home test come back negative and got the positive results email From Walgreens on their test this morning. He also thought it could have been strep throat, which he hasn’t had in at least 60 years, so they’re testing him for that too. This is a nerve wracking time for this two, he turns 80 on Monday and last Thursday was the 2 year Anniversary of Mom passing away.
  3. Dad has has tested positive for Covid, already requested the day off so I can take him to the Dr, Urgentcare, or ER, likely the latter.
  4. My replacement Cricut Maker arrived Saturday, with Dad being under the weather, I haven’t done more than open it to look at it, the one I had gotten back from my Sister was the “Mint” green model and the reman one they sent was their “Lilac” purple. It’s just the lids and I’d still take either color over the “Rose” pink or “Champagne” gold colors. Funny thing though is that the machine my Sister bought to replace it was also in that Lilac color!
  5. Thanks, I’m thinking that the slot type tail lights are going to get filled in and replaced with those self adhesive plastic rhinestones molded in clear red plastic for tail lights, I just have no idea if I’m going to keep the wheels chrome and what color to paint the car yet. Since we’re just past mid January and I’m near Chicago, it’s not like I don’t have a couple months to figure that out though!
  6. Well, that does go to show how good the designer(s) of that plane were that 88 years later, the shape it still so close up that they’re just tweaking it vs a wholesale change.
  7. I did a little grinding where the black and purple portions of the chassis screw into the post under the hood to try and drop it a little bit more, though I may go back and do more grinding on it tomorrow, I didn’t bring it down as far as I had hoped. I’m debating about trying to fake a set of drums or or grinding down on the wheel mounting posts to try and narrow the axles a little to narrow up the track width a bit too.
  8. I think I have the scoop shape finalized, just need to sad a slight curve into the windshield end so it matches the shape of the hood and maybe round the edges a wee bit more too. What do you guys this of the shape?!
  9. Dug this out to show what I’m using on my ‘33 Willys Panel street rod as a chassis donor to bring the stance down on it, I just so happened to have 2 of them, and since the rolling stock from one kit went to the Willys and the other ended up in a Revell ‘57 Chevy snapper, I dug up some Pegasus Chrome Reverse Wheels and Narrow White Walls then has a set of Sovereign T’s in another ‘57 Chevy snapper that has the shorter tires and swapped the rear tires on that for the front tires on this for the proper Big and Little stance. May try to lower the front axle a little more, since it seems a little tall up front still.
  10. Dig up the other Revell ‘34 Ford snap kit so I can show what the bottom is supposed to look like, for the most part. I also started building the hood scoop I was building to go over the hole in the hood, it’s glued/cemented together and just needs to be reduced in size…….wish I had bought a mini belt sander from Harbor Freight though, it would come in handy for shaping this! Aaand here are the Willys with the ‘34 Ford kit, the wheels on the middle one is from the other ‘34 kit that is the chassis donor and the wheels on the ‘34 are Pegasus with their big and little narrow white walls.
  11. Played around with the chassis merging more today, got the chassis parts to fit together better! I’m not sure if I want to glue the portions together or wait until I can get things painted and then glue them together though. Here’s what I did, the left is the hybrid MPC Willys Gasser snap kit chassis and and cut down Revell ‘34 Ford snap kit center and rear suspension on the left vs the completely stock kit chassis and rear suspension on the right. I’m also stripping most of the chrome to painted in different finishes right now too.
  12. Got more pics, haven’t messed with the gasser as much as I have the street rod though. So I’m still working on the front suspension, but I’ve. Arrived the rear track on the street rod and brought the tread under the rear fenders with a really good “fitment”, I’m also getting close to gluing the MPC ‘33 Willys and Revell ‘34 Ford chassis together as well. I’ll probably fab up a scoop to fit over the hole in the hood, maybe just high enough to rest on the top of the hood ridge or be even with it. These are just better pics of the gasser, but by itself. Then a couple of them side by side And finally, once again compared to the once getting the street rod build when I first test fit it together.
  13. It’s only the second fastest EV in the world, the Team Vesco Little Giant #444 broke 353mph last year using Tesla motors and Prismatic Lithium packs in a streamlined that has been racing since 1958 and recharging using a trailer covered in solar panels to generate electricity. They couldn’t do the back up run within 60 min for an international record, but do hold the US record right now. https://www.pmw-magazine.com/news/electric-motorsport/team-vesco-ups-the-ante-for-electric-land-speed-records.html
  14. Cool, I’m still waiting on the Rivian vans to show up at the Amazon warehouse here in town. They even have the chargers on hand for them already too!
  15. Well, I need to park this here too, an air cooled 911 Targa Safari! Had an aftermarket exhaust Ohio temp tags on it, besides the obvious.
  16. Yeah, I rolled up a couple cars behind it at another light and spotted the tail lights and silhouette and thought I was seeing things, then I noticed the BFGs and the extra altitude, so I had to get a pic!
  17. Did some more work on the vans since my last post, mostly to the more “box stock” gasser version. Narrowed up the front and rear track on that by cutting the posts down on the wheels then drilling then to better fit deeper onto the axles, sanded the lettering off the tires and glued them together into 1 piece each. I also cleaned up the flash on it’s body and drilled out the headers as well. I’m still working at narrowing the street rod build, got the front’s width close to where I want it and still have some work to make it where I want. I still need to narrow the rear axle on the ‘34 Ford Chassis section to pull the rears in and then I can combine the 2 chassis’ permanently and have no idea yet on how I want to locate the axle from that same ‘34 Ford kit, maybe try and fake a link and coil over set up?! man’s finally, here’s a the two paired up with the last pic when the gasser was still box stock.
  18. Just saw this last night, first time I’ve seen a “Safari” 911 in person!
  19. Cosby had a record of his experience with that monster, apparently he returned the car to Shelby when it tried to kill him and his wife a couple times, then the guy that Shelby resold it to did get killed when it went off the cliff.
  20. Well, if it was a northern Illinois car with any connections to Chicago with this kind of history, there could always be a Lincoln Towing involvement. Dad had heard that if they found anything that might be special in this way, the car might disappear suddenly, as well as the more desirable drive train parts disappearing from parked cars. Steve Goodwin didn't just come up with this song out of nowhere after all
  21. From what I understand, he wasn’t even going to build an Elenor replica as it was in the movie, he was going to use the kit to put his own spin on the theme.
  22. Ok, picked up a second kit to build closer to box stock, pieced it together just enough for a stance comparison.
  23. Since it appears that there are no pics of just the parts for this kit, I bought a second kit to build closer to box stock and took pics of all but the roof cherry tree.
  24. Lol, just run across an ad for this on YouTube. https://glydsphere.com/products/glydsphere-ev-speaker?gclid=Cj0KCQiAoY-PBhCNARIsABcz770qkAFX_z_Ua-eenWPcbihucVUpDgWsIWCgH0rJ9O9p_9mt2sVjb2IaAhZoEALw_wcB
  25. I’d go with the first part of this, just to confuse bystanders ? Though this could be fun! Or maybe this, minus me crashing into the house?
