Just imagine if they used an old Audi for this, then it would be an Innie!

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!
Joe Handley replied to Belairconvertable's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Nope, it was easier to cut the GT chassis plate down then hog out the wheel openings and add flares for the GT's rolling stock. -
Agreed, I'm very familiar with that kit and this is a ton of cutting for what he did!

Agreed, that was the biggest consolation when Mom passed 2 years ago, at least wasn't in anymore pain.

Revell ‘34 Ford 3 Window Highboy Snap Together
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Ok, finished the drums to the point I need to prime them, we just don’t have the weather right now. and I also wrapped a little tape around them to keep them in the wheels for now and filled the tail light slots so I can put something less……….90’s back there. -
Dad is on the mend and feeling much better, though he’s sick of having to quarantine in a separate room right now.

Had to mock the Revell ‘34 3 Window snapper with the finned drums I made to cover the axle posts of the Pegasus wheels I’m using on it. -

Revell ‘34 Ford 3 Window Highboy Snap Together
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Ok,been putting time into the brake drums to cover the axle posts inside the wheels. All scratch built from Evergreen tube, rod, sheet, and 1/2 round stock! I’m going to leave the 1st assembly be for now and have some dinner, once that’s done, the cement should be solid enough to start sanding and shaping into the final product. Once that is done, I’ll start shaping the rest……and maybe open a window? -

Thanks, that one is going to be more of a space ship type car (think Thundercougarfalconbird, minus the masculinity issues) once it's done. -

Here’s a few of mine, including some I really need to get back on. I may go to some Pegasus Chrome Reverse wheels and big and little tires on this one. This one needs paint -
Hellcat Gremlin X
Joe Handley replied to 1930fordpickup's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I built one in Forza 4 some years back that was way overpowered and almost undrivable under power. -
Thanks Jim, he was at CDH and only for a couple hours. And as of Midnight, he was feeling much, much better! As I stated before, He was lucky enough have a doctor that had Covid a month ago, plus with the exact same symptoms Dad had, so he already knew exactly what he was dealing with when he was assigned to Dad.

No, I’d leave the Gremlin face or adapt a Javelin/AMX front clip. -

I was wondering if the AMT kit had the 420A vs the 4G63-T! IIRC, the 420A is the 2.0l DOHC that was the optional Dodge/Plymouth Neon engine, and I think it was standard in the Neon R/T and the ACR.- 82 replies

I think the FIA rule on turn around time is why the Little Giant doesn’t have the world record, just the US, they weren’t able to recharge it fast enough and don’t know if it was set up to hot swap the packs quick enough either. That will probably be a major thing to look at if building a streamliner that is electric only.
-
I think it might come down to developing a drivetrain that will fit in between the motor and drive wheels of a streamliner AND handle the abuse as well as batteries that can handle the discharge needed for this type of racing. The battery part will probably be no different than if you were to do this with an R/C car, just larger.

Thanks Bill, he’s already feeling better, I think yesterday was the worst of it for him. He did mention that the doctor that saw him had recently gotten over it too and told Dad that he had a nasty sore throat with his too. The doctor also asked Dad if he had been vaccinated yet and Dad told him yes on the 2 original shots, just hadn’t had the booster yet, the doctor told his that was good, as when they see non vaccinated people come in, not only are they not going home the same day like he did, a lot aren’t all going home at all.
-
Ok, he does have Covid, but no strep, he’s getting a one time med for his sore throat and will let me know when I can pick him up. I wasn’t allowed to stay in there with him, so I’ve been waiting for him in his van in the parking lot. I was half thinking that it might be worth checking the near by 7-11 to see if they have any cheap DVDs to buy, this van, my 200 and my Sister’s Challenger all have head units that are also DVD players so I could have watched that while waiting ?

That could be cool to see in a 50’s Ford, in 1:1 or scale!
