  1. Well, this one may be a lost cause for this project, got most of the exterior chrome off, but it’s still holding on inside the body and the buttresses are breaking off behind the B-Pillars. Maybe I can save this body by making it a phantom roadster instead?!
  2. Yeah, it’s times like these I don’t miss my XJ as a daily, 20.5 gallon tank bs 16.9 gallon for my 200, there were times I spent over $60 a week to feed it just before things crashed in ‘08 as prices were about $4.40-$4.60 a gallon for regular and I was driving 12+ miles a day for work. I paid $4.04/gal for E85 in my 200 tonight and even if I wasn’t WFH, my drive to and from work is about 7-8 miles depending on where I go. I don’t want to think about feeding the ‘87 Chevy Beauville we had up until ‘06 or ‘07, it had a 33 gallon tank and a TBI 5.7l under the doghouse backed by a 700r4, you could probably put a 6.0l and 4l80e out of an Express Van, run it on E85, and still get better mileage than that TBI motor got!
  3. I had a meeting with my boss and co-worker that is a newly promoted supervisor today, sounds like we will be staying with work from home for our department.....I don't think any of us are complaining about this, I know I'm not and I've probably got the shortest drive to work out of all of us!
  4. Thanks, it’s been bugging me for over a year now as to where they went so I was happy to find them! With the Vette, I was going to flare it to fit them, but I think the tires are still too tall for my liking and I haven’t decided where to start looking for 1/32 slot car wheels and tires to use on it. I put the Vette’s tires on the T-Bird too, since they’re a hair shorter than the stockers on that. I think the low rider rolling stock will be a better fit for the 1/32 Eldo anyway.
  5. Long overdue update! I managed to misplace these two and another kit about the time the world went sideways in 2020 and finally found them last week and revised how I mounted the tires to the Bird so I used some 1/8” Evergreen rod and did the below! I’m thinking I want to try different rolling stock for the Vette and save those wheels and tires for the Revell 1/32 Eldorado I bought back in 2018 or 2019
  6. I’ll dig up the thread for this one later, but just found this little Birdie I started just over 2 years ago and did a slight revision on the wheel mounting and stance of it.
  7. Sounds like you might be in the same boat we are with ours, just old enough to not have to worry about it.
  8. Been a while since I posted this one, it’s just about primer ready! and here’s the seats that I carved the pleats into.
  9. I occasionally get a weird idea and if I don’t have what would work for it, I try to acquire what might be needed to build it, the eventually try to start it.
  10. Ok, it looked like nothing was happening so I dumped the bleach it was in and rinsed it off last night, then discovered that some portions of the chrome were starting to flake and peel! Stuck it in some more bleach to see if that will finish it off, just going to let it sit for a while and see what happens. I did notice that I managed to crack the buttress on the quarter panel in one spot from the driver side B-Pillar on down and will have to fix that once the chrome is gone.
  11. Here’s how it looked at lunch , just turned the bleach milky?? and yes, that is snow.
  12. I have to admit John, I love that look!
  13. Thanks Carl, I am happy I found it too, though I'm not holding my breath on the bleach. Right now I left it outside to soak all night (during a snow storm no less) and will check on it during my lunch break today, see if anything at all has happened. I'm thinking I may need to just sand all that chrome off.....not looking forward to that, TBH.
  14. Yeah, we're all on SiriusXM and the remote starts that they have are through the key fobs too, we should be good then.
  15. A ratty, slow moving Plymouth Volare’ with it’s left blinker on. I honestly don’t remember the last time I saw one in person, anywhere!
  16. I’m curious to see what will happen with my 200 as well as Dad’s van and my Sister’s Challenger, we all have a basic hard drive head unit with satellite radio in our cars and theirs have the hands free phone and they have remote start too. Fortunately my car and Dad’s van are as basic as possible when it comes to these things (the only options on mine are 18” wheels and the same 3.6l V6 and 6speed auto as the van?) and my Sister’s car isn’t much better equipped……she has the speaker upgrade and the 5.7l Hemi!
  17. Got the Easy-Off and dirt off the car and got a different tub as well as a small bottle of HyVee brand concentrated bleach, it’s now sitting outside on the same garbage can soaking……..should be interesting to see if it works.
  18. Bought these yesterday, going to use it to shoot primer en mass once the weather is good enough.
  19. Here’s the pic of how it looked when I found it this morning!
  20. I’ve had no luck with the Easy Off, then had the body blow away yesterday, luckily I found it this morning though! I’m getting connection issues with where I’m at and can’t load the pics right now.
  21. Something like that made to fit a C1 Vette chassis could be fun! Been thinking of taking one of the Barris Batmobile kits I have and shortening it to fit an early, 2 seat T-Bird chassis lately too.
  22. I had left that Delorean that I was trying to dechrome outside soaking it Easy Off all week and was going to bring it in, rinse Irma off and try bleach, but we got a bunch of wind, and it’s disappeared. Guess that second Delorean kit with the warped chassis will become a body donor.
  23. Ford had a major issues with fires years ago, IIRC, it went back farther than 1992 as shown in this. https://www.autosafety.org/ford-cruise-control-deactivation-switch-recalls-and-history/ BMW was also having issues with this, not just on the BMWs as shown in the articles, but with Minis too. https://abcnews.go.com/US/bmw-recalls-million-vehicles-fire-risk/story?id=50922136
  24. Salt water is a good way to neutralize Lithium batteries?
  25. I want a uniform surface for the filler, cement/glue, primer, and paint to adhere to. I'm planning on use Evergreen engineering shapes as well as sheet to fill in all the many, many odd shaped holes that were either part of the kit or created when I cut/ground/filed/carved/sanded time machine stuff off of it. I can't test any painting procedures on the chrome since the body appears to be a different, better chrome than used on the rest of plated pieces in the kit, or any other Round 2 kit I've bought from any of the different brands offered by them.
