  1. Now just to add a little confusion to things, I learned a few years back that FWD "Traction Bars" are a thing, at least for the Dodge Caliber SRT4 and 3.5l Altima, though I have see where people were putting the Caliber bars on the 3.6l Avenger and 200. From what I understand, these keep the from arms front moving forward and back plus reduce wheel hop and torque steer on so equipped cars. Here's one installed on a Caliber SRT4 Quick edit, looks like there is a Honda version as well!
  2. Thanks, I was thinking Lowrider/Street Cruiser there.
  3. I just noticed the plate on that truck Either that truck drinks like a fish, or the owner must be a Roger Miller fan!
  4. This should explain it nicely Though I’d be ok if this was used in this manner on adults, but like the crossing arm on a bus for kids.
  5. Probably easier to legislate safety at the vehicle level than at the driver level, it’s one thing to train kids how to be better drivers (and should be demanded by parents and NGOs) but when it comes to existing drivers, autonomous cars will likely be here before that happens and be more effective at making roads safer on that front.
  6. Not exactly a model, but plenty of assembly and decal work! A Power Wheels Toy Story Jeep Wrangler (JK 2 dr) that Dad and I build to give my Niece for Easter. I handled the decals, sub assemblies, helped with the final assembly, Dad handled the major stuff while I was dealing with the little things after finishing my Taxes and getting them sent out. BTW, some of the fit and parts warpage make the 50+ y/o model tooling look good!
  7. Well, it was more railroad than road….. Saw one of these running between Winfield and West Chicago yesterday! Normally, I only see these.
  8. I do have one like this already that will be moved back into there once the room is ready for me to work in it. https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/326307/Realspace-Clamp-On-Magnifier-Task-Lamp/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&mediacampaignid=71700000090409312_16081653319&gclid=CjwKCAjwur-SBhB6EiwA5sKtjnmdhqEazR-MviObSC0oLtBvc-fjJwqetS-cBBehXtNurN3JsYew9xoCyzUQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Have been looking at this, https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-Charcoal-Metal-Transitional-Etagere-Shelf-Floor-Lamp-69-H/157330649 Dad has something similar to this in the living room and it’s amazing! https://www.walmart.com/ip/Teckin-Floor-Lamp-Black-LED-Dimmable-Touch-Control-Metal-Lamp-Bluetooth-Wifi-30W-2500LM/682575365
  9. Nothing like that, even though it needs it. We had a leaky roof that damaged some of the ceiling drywall and the wood floor. There is new drywall patched into there , but no tape, filler or paint over it. The floor is rather warped, but still sound enough for somebody severely overweight to stand on, plus could be used to test/screw around with my SCX24?. Right now, I’m just wanting to get the room set up so I can use is as an office space and do the hobby stuff there off the clock too. Luckily, we don’t do zoom meetings and any conversations with customers and coworkers are done either as voice only and chat via Teams, so the room doesn’t have to be that sort of presentable, at least. I don’t need to go all out on lights yet since the days are longer now, but will need to by October. I have been looking at floor lights, but have thought about those too, Dad has some in the basement and there do work better than what was here when we moved in 40+ years ago! Thanks Guys
  10. Anybody have recommendations on home office lighting? I’m going to set up a workspace I can use for work, building models, and R/C, but the room I plan on using gets really dark as the sun goes down. We already have track lighting over the desk I plan to use and a wall light by the windows across the room, but it’s just not enough. I want to upgrade those to the highest watt LEDs that will fit, use a swinging desk like that I have in use right now, and maybe add some floor lights, but wonder what might be out there to use.
  11. Funny, I've had the same idea, but with Sovereign-Ts!
  12. Definitely, only "problem" I have is front tire wear, but 283hp, a heavy right foot, and lack of rotations probably has more to do with that then actual mechanical and/or design issues. A friend of mine in Michigan had an '08 Sebring for a while that his Dad ended up buying from him and I'm pretty sure his Dad was actively trying to kill it, he totaled it with well over 200k on the 2.7l V-6, which at one time was an absolute no-loan approval on cars with those engines on the used market. I'd be shocked if it wasn't repairable with new fender, hood, bumper, light, and maybe suspension parts for the left front corner, so long as it wasn't too rotted out.
  13. You’re welcome, these cost less that $25 shipped from Pompano Beach, FL to West Chicago, IL too?
  14. Got these in from DipYourCar.com to paint practice for my models as well as R/C bodies, the white and black speed shapes are $1.43/ea or a pack of 10 like I bought for $13.72 while the clear is $2.37/ea so I only bought 5 for now.
  15. Well, it’s been 10 years today since I bought my 200! It’s got over 124k on it and still runs strong and looks good for it’s age! also hit the magic number a few weeks back on the odometer
  16. Looks like the little Mavericks are doing well, they outsold the Ranger by around 2k units in the 1st quarter of ‘22 and sold more than the Hyundai Santa Cruz and Honda Ridgeline, combined! https://www.thedrive.com/news/45092/ford-maverick-doubles-hyundai-santa-cruz-sales-outsells-ranger-in-q1
  17. I think my ‘88 Dodge Shadow ES is probably the worst I’ve owned, but not horrible. The worst car that has been in the family was that ‘86 Pontiac 6000 LE sedan Dad bought in the early 90’s that I have mentioned elsewhere on this site is probably the absolute worst vehicle anyone in the family has had! The only way calling a flaming pile would have been more accurate is if it had act aught fire and burned down vs getting totaled by sliding into/under the back bumper of a pick up that May have had brake light/tail light cutouts installed and in use.
  18. Nice, like the Corsica Hatchback!
  19. Haven’t done that with much with any plastic models, but I definitely have with some of my R/Cs, especially the crawler stuff as well as a monster truck built from an abandoned crawler project.
  20. Was that from the AMT ‘57 Ford Fairlane kit?!
  21. Outside of powertrain and special bumpers and wheels, the 500e is a 500 Abarth made into an EV by FCA. Luckily, electrics aren’t as maintenance heavy as something with a combustion engine would be.
  22. Yup, 2012-2014 RAV-4 EV, it's a California Compliance Car and they built less than 2500 over those 3 years. It's kinda like the Fiat 500e and Toyota Mirai H2 car, only sold in CA, but now are finding their way into the rest of the lower 48 as used cars. At least it and the 500e aren't a hydrogen car like the Mirai is thought, lot easier to find an outlet or charging station vs a hydrogen station!
  23. Picked up some fine line 1/16” vinyl masking tape and Wizard automotive liquid wax yesterday then some Duplicolor White sandable primer and GM Olympic White spray paint today.
  24. I’m assuming it was resold out here or was shipped here for a move. It had Illinois’ EV specific plates on it and no HOV lane sticker on it.
  25. I saw one of these today, and in this same color! Now I’m not sure why it was around the Chicago area, as these were California only and a total production run of just under 2500 over 3 years.
