  1. How about this tiny, little one It was meant to be a Nash Metropolitan Lead Sled, but it’s looking more like a Sports Custom to me.
  2. I think most of those are burning some sort of waste oil now.
  3. Did a couple more wheels swaps, this time to a couple Matchbox Subaru Sambar Kei Trucks! Here’s the ones I started with, the two little Subis and a couple Hondas for donors. Here’s the one with the Ridgeline’s wheels vs a 100% stocker. I figured it was too low for tires that much taller, so I raised that one and lowered the other one! I think these wheels are about 1mm different in diameter from stock, just in opposite directions, on top of the change in altitude I made to the chassis of these two trucks.
  4. Bought this Matchbox Mazda CX-5 yesterday and decided it needed a change in altitude and attitude. Took it out of the package and shot a couple before shots. Then took it apart, didn’t think to take pics here, but I cut off and sanded down those fingers holding the axles to the chassis so I could mount some 1/16” aluminum tube on top of it to lower the thing, I also clipped and shorted the axles to fit in the tubes too. Using the tubes like this also requires modification to the interior where the risers that push the axle to the chassis plate are molded. All said and done, I think it looks fantastic like this?
  5. Thanks! The 3 is a Matchbox car, as is the Civic CVCC, the blue ‘34 Chevy 5 Window, and red 5 Window Deuce Coupe. They appear to be a bit more model than toy like when compared to the Hot Wheels cars too.
  6. I found a Hot Wheels Lucid Air a couple months ago and it rekindled my interest in 1/64 cars again, and kinda have gone overboard. Got a bunch of the clear cases for them. Then here are the ones I modified! Most are wheel swaps with mild lowering. these I took the Tampo print off of then dropped and swapped the van. Since the engine in the last one is an inline, I chopped the header off the left side of it the drilled the tip out on the right side! I am planning on painting the chassis’ for the black street rod, blue Chevy, and Red Civic CVCC, then doing some chrome stripping on the Deuce, Transit, and maybe the engine and interior on the black street rod. This one and a second will be major custom job, this is more or a lead sled Nash Metropolitan, though the way I had to trim it out to clear the rear tires (the quarters were think and solid metal!) and the chip top that it has to replicate the Nash it models does give it a very “Sport Custom” look…. This other Nash is one I want to build as a gasser, though I want to jack it up, narrow the axle width to fit the wheels within the body like above, May even try to dummy up some leaves and traction bars, will have to hog out the quarters here too, just differently. Since I used one of those Civic CVCC cars for wheels on the Nash, I bought this Mazda 3 Hatch for the wheels on the Civic now, but want to drop and swap and this once I find something of interest, then kinda want to get some carbon fiber decal for the hood and spoiler (which is clear and molded to hatch) then paint the roof black. Right now, it’s sitting on craft sticks that are cut down to 2” In length and glued together like it was left to long in the wrong place.
  7. I think those are the increased prices, plus I think the Mondail are about the only Ferrari that’s stuck in the “nobody wants it” zone.
  8. I think those are going up in value now too, then though just about any late model mid sized FWD sedan with the hotter engine option would likely smoke it in any acceleration run.
  9. By the way this looks, it's kinda being run the way the early NHRA events were in areas that did not have a sanctioned strip of some sort
  10. Depending on the size and or purpose of the car, those large wheels are necessary for larger brakes, especially on larger and/or high horsepower cars and trucks as well as heavy work trucks.
  11. That may be part of the reason black as well as gunmetal or titanium colors, they hide the brake dust better than brighter and or polished/plated finishes.
  12. Been modding a Hot Wheels “The Nash” into something different than the 1/1 rat rod it’s based off of. So here’s the real one in front of a life sized Hot Wheels card, I think this is after it was chosen for miniaturization. and here’s before I cut it up with the Matchbox ‘76 Civic CVCC wheel donor. then after I got it apart with just the MB front wheels on it , as I had to grind at the quarters and create wheel openings since I couldn’t sink them in like on a proper Bathtub Nash. And here it is with openings ground into the quarters with the MB wheels on both ends with another fresh out of package “The Nash” I need to clean up the rear openings once my Dremel is recharged the knock down the Jr Dragster ‘chute where the spare should be, so I need to fab up a spare for it to make it look right then strip it to fill in the front openings and hole in the hood as well as shave the fender exhausts and doors handles before repainting it. Now for the Civic, I’m trying to figure out what I want to do for wheels, but right now…….it almost looks like I left it in the wrong neighborhood………
  13. Low highway bridges?! I’d be concerned about bridges that would clear oversized loads with that thing!
  14. Just imagine the bath you might take on resale when a “regular” person sees that. Weird and boring color combo on the outside, and almost Barris like over the top inside…….no thanks!
  15. Played around with another Hot Wheel, this one is a new for 2022 ‘83 Silverado from their “Tooned” series. Just did a little work to black out the grill and exhaust tips on the side pipes, add front parking lights and reverse lenses and used a chrome silver marker on the headlights and roll bar lights, then added a little coloring to the blower assembly.
  16. Can’t wait to see what he ends up doing with those, he does fantastic work!
  17. Who ever made that list is clueless, though I think that one labeled RollsRod, may have had some sort of tie in to a certain German leader back in the 30's and early 40's too......... Here we go.
  18. I’m sure there’s other oil producing nations that aren’t at this time, though they are a whole lot warmer than there? On a side note, one of the commentators on that video asked if the fur (which is fake) was a Polar Bear or 1000 Persian Cats………. I couldn’t help myself and commented “Woolly Nauga”
  19. Yeah, all I could think is that this looked like Mercedes took one of Barris’ ideas and classes it up a bit. Too bad half the paint choice is so bland (I can’t stand any version of that color) and the wheels are ugly no matter what the final finish they’re in is.
  20. Ran across this tonight, had to watch it due to the title of the video…………for some reason, that interior is giving me George Barris vibes……
  21. Nothing crazy, just a little gel ink silver and black Sharpie on a Hit Wheels Mooneyes ‘56 F100 panel.
  22. Not sure, probably wouldn’t even put it on a trailer until it was fully insured, let alone drive it more than in and out of the garage.
  23. Look in the comments, the owner/builder commented that so far as they know, the people in the vehicles he hit were ok. Honestly, it sounds like him and Shawn (the passenger) were the ones that took the brunt of the damage, both physical and financial. It also sounds like the owner is going to try and rebuild the Comet too, I just hope he does, he can get that done before he's too old to drive anything, considering he just had liability on it and probably can't afford just had it off to somebody else this time.
  24. It sounded like the brakes just weren't enough for a car with that level of power, they even looked a little small compared to what my 200 left the factory with, and those were barely suitable for the 280hp and 3600lb curb weight of my car, nearly 4 times the power and likely not much weight difference can't be good, plus it sounded like there wasn't parking or emergency brake of any sorts either. What really shocked me is that he only had Liability insurance at that time, so that was 2-3 decades of work and money and marriages gone in that hit. I didn't like rolling with just that on cars that were sub $3000 cars where Liability cost nearly what I paid for the cars, let alone full coverage, so something that has that much money involved just make no sense.
  25. I've bought some Blech-Wite, but haven't gotten around to using it yet..................
