  1. I wouldn’t be surprised if the popularity of the RadWood shows had some influence in this as well. I’m kinda thinking of getting one the next time Hobby Lobby has their 40% off on kits. Think for wheels, I’d be looking at the aftermarket wheels from the Japanese manufacturers, plenty of period and modern options out there!
  2. The Plymouth and Dad’s Maxwell made it to the table tonight! they’re both going to see revisions later on, but that Maxwell was almost all done in the last week and you’ve all seen what I did on mine this week. I’m going to try and get outside pics of mine on my 200 and post those in the finished section once we get some daylight on a weekend.
  3. I love it, nice touch with the pistol grip shifter too!
  4. One last for now.
  5. Thanks guys, I appreciate it, though I couldn’t even find that last night either?! Checked a Jewel/OSCO near the Italian place Dad and I had dinner at as well as a Target we passed on the way home without luck. Maybe I’ll find it at HyVee today or should check the Jewel/OSCO Mom and I used to work for as well.
  6. Thanks! I’m just wishing I had given myself more time, especially when it was warm out, to do this. Cold winter weather in Chicago and doing most of this on my lunch breaks and after work the last week before it needed to be done really affected the paint.
  7. I’m not toooo thrilled with it, but I’ll finish it tomorrow morning. There’s some oops in here that’s too late to fix at this point, so I’ll assemble it for now then go back over it later.
  8. Has Pledge with Future gone out of production?! I was looking for some tonight after work and couldn’t find any.
  9. That is planned! just not tonight.
  10. And now for a quick mock up before a color touch up?
  11. The paint fogged a bit, I’m going to try and wet sand it to see if that will clear that up also did the chrome on the dash, column, and wheels then tried to flock the tub……. I need to work on that though I will put the interior together and probably be able to finish assembly tomorrow night after work.
  12. Body and top side of hood are now painted to match the dash, column and steering wheel! need to see how these look after work then just need to clear them!
  13. Thanks?
  14. The color is going down ? That green will look fantastic on this!
  15. Well, here we are, need to shoot the paint and clear on the outside and then paint the interior. Here’s what I’m going to shoot it with, the green is the same green my XJ Cherokee was painted as well as what I painted my Wild Willy 4x4, but this will get gloss clear instead of flat like the WW4x4 is in. and then this white is what I’m going to paint the interior, but leave the clear off those and flock the floor with green/gold embossing powder.
  16. Chassis is assembled and ready to test fit the body to so I can see what tweaking I may need to do to that valance I scratched together.
  17. Thanks! It needs to be done by Saturday as does the vintage Revell Maxwell kit Dad is building and we slacked way too much this summer on our projects. Our model club has a build project that is “Orphans”, so why not a Mopar and it’s fore runner??
  18. Body came out pretty good, gotta just clean up the filler primer and seal prime before the color and clear coats. and then here’s the chassis and suspension in Blazing Black as well as the front bench seat.
  19. The hood isn’t sanded yet, but the body is looking pretty good and ready for more primer, then maybe the color coat!
  20. I still have 2 of those Revell Mercs that I have not started! There is a side treatment I had done on the donor AMT Merc body that I want to apply to one of those, eventually since that kit is a bit of a mess now. I do have one of those '70 Impala kits too, it's in storage at this time too.
  21. I have a pre RC2 AMT/ERTL kit somewhere and IIRC, I was think about doing something like that with it for headlights when I put it away into storage. The Merc donor kit, unfortunately, is now a parts kit so it will be raided for bits and pieces over time.
  22. Ok, getting into the body work now that I can see the bodywork I’ve done in the primer and know where to work. Then here’s the interior tub and front seat in primer……..sorta still need to do some painting, but here’s the engine so far!
  23. Shot the primer when I went on lunch today and touched up the black as well, spraying metallic black outside and in the dark with just a house side wasn’t the greatest idea…….oops. I will at least have an idea where I need to do more body work once I’m done working for the day.
  24. Thanks, I appreciate it! Kinda wish I hadn’t slacked on this one so long though. Hope to see yours on here soon though!
  25. Thanks, I thought they were ugly too and thought it would be worth trying these or the stock Merc lights. Found the stock Merc trim rings were just too……”fat” for the lack of a better term as well for my liking, but the frenched buckets were perfect. It is now in primer as I shot it on lunch and will get to work on the body on after I’m done working for the day.
