Has anybody ever seen kits of the Cannon Class Destroyer Escorts, USS Coffman in particular? The lady at the Advance Auto I ordered the Magnaflow stuff for my Jeep through was asking if I knew about any models of that ship or at least of that class of ship. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Coffman

IIRC the reasons they put the eyes in the windshield was to keep the cars from looking "snake like" and there had been some precedence with WW2 era cartoons that places the eyes there too. :EDIT: Here's a couple examples of what I was talking about (the first one is thanks to our own Jim Gibbons!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poh-DoKbuo8

I picked up a Badger water trap, AMT '62 T-Bird, as well as a few rc car parts yesterday then picked up a AMT '70 Cornet, a new rear muffler hanger for my XJ (broke it last week and have it hung with bailing wire at the moment )and ordered a new Magnaflow 2.5" muffler and cat for the Jeep too. I'm going to try and install the hanger on the truck Wed then take it to a local shop and have them install the cat, muffler, and bend up a 2.5" tailpipe for it.

There was one place they went to protest that was quite unappreciative of their presence, the groups minivan ended up with 4 flat tires and not only would nobody other than the area Walmart would sell them new ones, but they couldn't get a tow and had to drive the van there to have them installed. They better hope that somebody down there doesn't snap and do anything worse than that..............

Bought it and it's still in the Jeep.

I've already got the one that came in yesterday set aside for myself to buy before I leave work tonight

We got one of those at work today and it has all of the kustom goodies in it.......I had a hard time not buying it on the way out the door

GM actually build one almost 20 years ago as a concept vehicle from a Caprice wagon!

Model, but those wheels would be correct for the real thing and Tamiya has those decorated disks on it's F1 R/C version of the Ferrari's too

Are we done yet ?
Joe Handley replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'll be honest, I don't care much for that Gen 2 T/A look on those cars, Just doesn't seem right to me. I've have done a Gen 1 Firebird on it instead, that would just seem to fit the lines of the car better to me for some reason. -
Mother, Jugs and Speed

The "Massage Parlor" and golf course scenes will probably be the best bet for anything remotely detail related. -
Sweet, I've been meaning to buy the 1/16 General Lee (or maybe two) as it is and want one of the Petty '71 Chargers too! Do you guys think that there will be parts offered (even in resin) to build the "continuation" Daytona's from that kit?

Grex Airbrush Question
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Well, I'm a dummy I went to try and adapt my Napa 5 gallon airtank to fit the 1/8"-1/8th" female Grex hose over from my decade plus old Badger hose and discovered Menard's has a different measurement for 1/8" than Grex does and that I should have bought a 1/8" male to 1/8" male fitting instead of a 1/8" male to 1/4" male fitting anyway As I dug deeper, I also discovered there is a fitting that would allow me to fit the airbrush directly up to that old Badger hose too, making that Grex hose an unnecessary purchase Luckily after nearly 8 years of non use, that tank and regulator still holds air Now I just need the time to actually use the dang thing -
Quick question for you Harry, What kind of airbrush and thinner did you use to shoot the Future?

Grex Airbrush Question
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'm now a proud owner of a Grex TS3 airbrush and I dug up my old Badger Crescendo and 5 gallon Napa airtank, but have managed to break the trigger on the Badger and it look like I'll have to go straight to Badger for it since none of our suppliers seem to carry that part I also picked up some bottle Pactra R/C pearl and metallic lacquers and would like to try them on styrene as well as lexan, I'm just not too sure if I have to use Plasticote or can use Model Master lacquer primers on it. -
I picked up the Grex airbrush from work Thursday as well as the current Model Cars issue, and some Pactra R/C Lacquers in bottles to try on that airbrush.

I'm Mad At Jairus Watson!!!!
Joe Handley replied to Darin Bastedo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The ones that really got me is the Allison V-12 land speed car and the all black sled. Don't know if I'll ever build them, but I loved the concepts! -
Grex Airbrush Question
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Will do! I think I still have a NAPA airtank that was rigged up as a supply tank for my old Crescendo in the past. I just have to run the air compressor in my Jeep into it to keep it full while shooting -
Grex Airbrush Question
Joe Handley replied to Joe Handley's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks Manuel, I've already got the TS3 on hold at work, should be bringing it home by this weekend......unfortunately, my sister is using my compressor and tank (as well as Dad's impact gun) for a display at the library she works at for a couple weeks -
That is a neat little concept!
-
I have to agree, that does look good!

That looks really good, too bad Ford didn't actually build it like that too. What's the roof off of, that Caprice wagon thing Revell put out in the 90's?
