  1. I was thinking more along the lines of the picture above my post
  2. You know, I've thought about taking one of the MPC/AMT kits a post landing General Lee, that looked pretty much like that
  3. You know, I remember reading back in the 90's that the guys at GM's "skunkworks" took one of the earlier versions of that body on a Caprice C9P/Impala SS chassis with a Holden IRS back of it. IIRC they wanted to see how well a unibody shell and normal frame would work together, and I think they threw the Holden IRS in it for the heck of it
  4. The current ones are all of the concept car, Revell is going to be bringing out a full detail SS though.
  5. looks good so far, kinda wondered what you were going to use for the starting kit when I saw the title!
  6. I think Harry is right here, most of them have either been scrapped or given away by/purchased from WB a long time ago for the TV cars, not sure about the movies cars though. I do know somebody locally who it stilling a 318 powered clone for $20k though....seems like it should have a lot more than just a 318, but all things considered, that is as "accurate" as a 440 and probably more so than a Hemi
  7. All things considered detail wise, from what I've read about the way they build cars for the TV Series, you could have a '70 Charger shell (with doors and trunk lid off anything from a '68-'70) with '68 front fenders and either a stock '68 grill with a fabricated grill splitter (I have read that somewhere, just can't remember where) or a "proper" '69 grill that was used for one of the stunt vehicles and technically that might still be accurate Looks like it "might" be B5 Blue, but don't quote me on that
  8. IIRC it was a Diecast from Revell/Monogram back in the early to mid 00's. I might even have one partially built in storage somewhere too come to think of it
  9. Didn't Don Yenko use a stripe like that on his hot rodded Corvairs?
  10. IN all honesty, if I ever buy one of these kits, That's exactly how I plan on building it
  11. Well, they could make a light aircraft section, as much time as that car spen airborn in the show and movies that might be more approriate
  12. One thing that I would consider being an advantage for a stand alone store would be if the building was purchased to be used as a shop instead of renting it from somebody else because then the building belongs to you and the bank (before the loan is paid off) so the only people to have any real say in what you do there is bank and the city. You shouldn't have to worry about rent changing every time the building gets sold to one management company after another and them complaning about something of your's that can be seen ruining the value of the property.
  13. Well, the way their people sometimes handle stuff, you need to pay attention to that
  14. Not sure on a blown flathead, but the AMT '49 Merc has a flathead and they've added some nice hot rod goodies for it too!
  15. I've heard that there is supposedly a race track in an old bread factory in a baaaaaaad part of Chicago along those lines. I think some of the rc people from AL's are involved (but the shop itself isn't) and you have to call when you get there, they unlock and open a garage door for you to drive your car into the building and park. Apparently the area is bad enough that nobody would complain about the noise and they have to park the 1/1 cars inside to protect them too
  16. I like hearing that Ken, I'll have to watch the shelves at work then!
  17. Once you get rid of that rat's nest of emissions junk, that Pacer should be fairly easy to work on....that is an earlier version of my Jeep's engine after all!
  18. ehhhhh, old Italian cars in a barn.....think I'd take my chances with that 12 mile Pacer instead reliability wise.
  19. Other than the occasional iTunes music purchases, I don't shop on line what so ever.
  20. That's what we figured, use the sales floor, parts store room, and office for obvious stuff, then there's plenty of parking up front, lots of room for parking lot racing along the side or out back, you could use the shop area as an indoor racetrack, indoor flying area, and/or if there are cubical dividers left, an airsoft shooting gallery too! If they have individual mini offices, knock out a few walls and make them larger rooms for parties, club meetings, classrooms, ect.
  21. A co-worker and I both thing an old car dealership would makje an awesome location for an all round shop.
  22. Real, and I think it only has brakes on the rear axle (and hopefully a 'chute then too )
  23. The one I work for got a couple kits in Brandon.
  24. Looks great!
  25. Here's some more I actually know the guy who's doing the driving for this video, he said that he was spinning the tires into 4th gear...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wYHDmE2RZE&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL and this thing is streetable and has since broken into the 8's
