AMT Slammers? Anyone build these
Joe Handley replied to Nick Winter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Don't know if any of the local guys ever saw it, but Winfield, IL PD used to use that generation Chrysler Concords, which replaced 4dr fwd Pontiac Grand Prixs, and supposedly ran Dodge Lancer Turbos at one time too. -

After all the nonsense that Sony pulled with the music copyrighting and it's related lawsuits against people, They deserve it! edit.... If anybody is wondering, I don't own any Sony gaming system newer that an early PlayStation I bought in 1997, and don't really even play that any more........................ -
Unfortunately, the only two 6 cylinder machines I've done any kind of work on in the past year have been my I-6 Jeep and my Sister's V-6 Charger

Real or Model #164 FINISHED!
Joe Handley replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
I'm going against my better judgment and say Model! -
Can't quite finish that model, eh!

If it's not the weather (gotta paint outside) or a lack of time (usually procrastination related), I'm just flat being lazy -

Funny, a friend and I were talking about those the other day, wouldn't mind seeing those be reissued by RC2, only maybe in just plain white plastic this time like RC2 did with the Polar Lights "Holdeniac" GTO and Ford GT kits. Just so you guys know, the full detail Ranger Flairside "Splash" kit's chassis is nearly a perfect fit under the Blue Ranger thing in Draggon's post -
Not really for me.....My Mom, Sister and I went together and got this for Dad for Easter! We've had this car hiding here and there for about a month waiting for today And here it is with my Fiesta I did get a $100 gift card to the HobbyTown I work at too

Those almost look like they belong on the Tamiya 1/14 scale big rigs.

Lol, that Cougar looks like thee should be a load of 'Shine in the trunk I have to agree on the Monza, the body is decent, but I'm ditching the stock Chassis and interior for Revell's ZR1 -
Put Holden badges on it and confuse people And for those already confused..............................................................

That should be pretty cool if they can get it work right, could end up being the automotive equivalent of the Diesel Locomotive too!

Does Plug Wire Color Really Matter?
Joe Handley replied to mrmike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm with the Depends Camp, if I were replicating one of the vehicles I've owned or building a vehicle "inspired" by the ones I've owned (since the only one of them have been offered as a model of some sort ), the wires would need to be blue since I've run either Talyor or Mopar (which I think were made by Taylor anyway ) wires on them. I'd also have to use black, white, orange, candy blue, or safety yellow on oil filters too for the same reason. If I were replicating a factory fresh car, black might be right, if I'm replicating a specific modified car, then the wires should be the same color as what the prototype has. Now if it was a fantasy hot rod of some sort, I'd go for wires that worked with the type of car (street rod, specialty shop style custom, or true Kustom might get a color matched set while a regular street machine might get Yellow, Red, or Blue wires). If I were to get creative and were building a beater, I'd mix and match things like that, wheels and tires, body panels, or other similar, removable and junkyard source-able parts -
MPC Dukes of Hazzard 1/16th scale Charger
Joe Handley replied to Dragline's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I was looking over that kit a few weeks ago, kept thinking that this is what the TV Show General Lee should have been instead of a painted up hot rod -
Well, that could be why it's called a Model "T" instead of a Model T Is it me, or has that frame already been notched and Z'd? Might make for a decent rat rod style built

Super high end die-cast. -
Looks great! Wonder if Jr would ever jump into that car and drive it like he did the Wrangler car recently
-
In all honesty, with any open top Jeep (literally from WW2-JK Wrangler!) and that generation closed cab Jeep, just some sheet styrene could get you what you need with a little effort and imagination!

I'll take two of those over the Lexus anytime.......no matter what the scale

What do you drive?
Joe Handley replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Don't see why not, my folks Town and Country Touring (and it's around 4400lbs on it's own!) will get well into the 20's on the interstate with 4 people and their luggage on board........as well as one of my RC's usually
