That would actually be ideal on the Chrysler 3.6l in FWD Applications. My 200 and Dad’s Caravan will light the front tires up if you aren’t careful while trying to get off a light quickly in stock form, even with good tires, so light boost down low where traction is a problem would come in handy. I do have to wonder how well those could be made now, with CNC milling and 3D printing with metal now being a thing.

1:1 kitbash?
Joe Handley replied to Earl Marischal's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My 200 is going that way, later model higher flow lower intake, bigger Minivan rotors and Charger/Challenger/300 calipers and pads, want to put Journey sway bars and rear brakes on it….. could do a lot of the same stuff with the K-Cars and their derivatives as well as a lot of late AMC-early Daimler Chrysler Jeeps too. -
I think this one may have been about that price, about 20 years ago!

These started out as a Monogram kit, pre-Revell-Monogram merger, in the 70’s or 80’s and have been Reissued off and on for decades now, kinda wonder if Revell still has these or if Atlantis picked up the tooling for them. They had a bunch of kits in this scale too, like the Malibu Cop Car, there should have been a rubber bumper late 70’s Camaro, late 50’s C1 Corvette and others that are slipping my mind right now. I just googled it, looks like this dates back to ‘79 and apparently there are people looking to get $45+ out of theirs on eBay……….it’s not worth that price, to be blunt.

The A/C has been out of commission for about a month at work and should be back up and running in time the actual summer weather to start, but my boss’ office can turn into an oven by mid day, so she bought an ossolating upright fan to stick by the door to try and draw cooler air into it until the A/C is working. She tried to put it together herself but got frustrated and brought it to me since I’m kinda the go-to when it comes to arts and crafts type projects for the office as well as assembling stuff. I get off the phone and look at the instructions……..the written instructions are boarder-line useless and the diagram printed on it is about the size of my thumb and gives no real view of the bottom of the fan. Luckily it was easy to figure out and pretty straightforward once I looked at the fan and base, but man were those instructions useless!

Found this old build I started 15+ years ago along with that flat black VolksRod R/C while I was looking for a set of tires I had pit together for my E-Revo a couple weeks back, was going to make it a Kustom then and had shaved the chrome off, cut down the blower with the intention of filling in the hole in the hood, and that was all the farther I got on it. My club has build nights on the 3 summer meetings, so I decided to bring this and tinker with it again. Here is how it looked just snapped together right out of what was left of the box Not only was the he stance all wrong, but the seats were too tall for my liking, so while I was there, I cut those down to the same height as the door tops. I also went through and cleaned up the gaps on the doors, hood, and deck lid, accidentally knocked the center of the front bumper out and haven’t figured out if I’m going to cement it back in place or fabricate something from Styrene stock yet. I also decided to take a more radical approach to the quarters and completely reshape them and move away from the stock tail lights all together. Filed off the wheel opening lips as I am currently filling those and the hole in the hood with sheet styrene and will be smoothing both out once the cement is cured. The next few are where the car was by the time the meeting is over These next 4 are from tonight, put some time into lowering the car, still have some tinkering to make sure it is level, but I’m much happier with this stance vs box stock, which almost looked jacked up in comparison. Last thing I did was clean up the sprue tabs and slight flashing on the tires as well, which weren’t bad considering the age of this little snapper!

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!

Found this a couple weekends ago while looking for a set of tires for my E-Revo. Had initially bought it to try on my Losi Micro Desert Truck maybe 15 years ago but the decklid didn’t clear the transmission on that as well as the late 60’s GTO did, so I think I decided to make this a little lead sled, but forgot about it. The club Dad and I are members of has build nights over the 3 summer months, so I decided to bring this to work on! -

My friend lost his boy Linus yesterday morning, not sure what exactly happened, he just started going down hill about a week ago. He took Linus in from a feral colony that was by a dive of an apartment building he was in at the time and had given him a home with himself and his 2 girls. Linus would eat nearly anything in front of him and was fond of Little Cesar's Pizza and bread sticks, which he was trying to get in this pic.

Found a R/C I had misplaced several years ago while looking for a different set of wheels and tires for my E-Revo. Not only did I find the car, but I found 2 batteries I had bought for the E-Revo years ago, best part, all three batteries are still good and took a charge! here it is, as found! And after I took it out of the bag then here is one of the wheel and tire assemblies I was looking for when I found above car.
-
A few years ago I thought one of my R/C battery chargers and 2 of my larger LiPo batteries had died, but after Dad bought his E-Revo 2.0 it had the same charger as the one that had died. After messing around to get that to work, I decided to get that old one out and try it…….and it worked! After that I tried the two batteries that I thought were dead and those worked too! I had intended to send them in to Traxxas for a trade in and it turns out that wasn’t needed!
-
Finally got my Traxxas E-Revo put back together last night, last ran nearly 5 years ago and has been in pieces for 4 years. Upgraded to their new 6s brushless system that went into it’s successors as well as a bunch of parts from the 2nd Gen truck. Then we were able to find Dad a 2nd Gen truck off eBay for half what I sent resurrecting mine and it is a BEAST with the higher voltage batteries that were included in the box! I was only running half throttle here and was afraid to try full throttle, put in training mode for Dad almost immediately.

What did you see on the road today?
Joe Handley replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Haven’t seen it in years, but there used to be a mid 90’s Escort Wagon around here that had an Excursion badge on the hatch and a gigantic clamp on tail pipe extension. -

It definitely has the right stance for one of those! -
What did you see on the road today?

Yeah, between these and GM’s new EV SUVs, I’m not sure if the roads over there are big enough. They’re all massive. -

Who all knows of the Chicago Cutlass?
Joe Handley replied to Sledsel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I’m astounded that it’s still solid enough to not fall out of it as you’re sitting down into it! -
Flame painting origins?
Joe Handley replied to Earl Marischal's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thought I read somewhere that it was inspired by a car that had no hood sides running at a lake bed and had an engine failure. There were flames coming off the engine and down the sides of the body, which fave somebody the idea. -
I’m looking forward to this one!

I’m beginning to think that is a good idea in general, but especially with some of the large, high powered, and heavy vehicles, be it internal combustion or EV. Saw a video about the new Escalade IQ, it’s a full sized SUV that weighs 8600lbs, can reach 60mph in under 5 seconds, and is so large that it’s 24” rims don’t look cartoonishly big on it. Make me a bit nervous to be around one of those or the new Charger EV (5600lbs) and not knowing what kind of driver is behind the wheels of vehicles like that……especially if I’m a pedestrian or I get a bicycle and start riding again.
