  1. hmmm.. looks right on to me Andy..I think you are the first person to build the motor in one of these as it is out of the box, and it looks darn convincing to me. Great work on a side note..I didn't realize I wasn't the only person slightly disgruntled with AF....hmm Gray
  2. your welcome man, I almost exclusively post builds only on this forums because people don't try and push how they think you should build a kit on here, AF has gotten bad about that lately. Like I said, I'm an s13 fan(having owned a real one a few years back) and I like them all pretty much no matter how they've been done...s13's look good with big lipped wheels, or flat wheels..it doesn't matter. I had seen that s14 thats your inspiration before(downloaded the pics as well) and I'll say its a very clean example of a fixed up s14, and your s13 does a good job of showing where its inspiration is from. Like I said earlier all of your builds are top notch, and this one certainly keeps that standard up...keep up the good work. Gray
  3. Andy, I noticed alot of people giving you a hard time about the wheels on other forums, but to me they fit the car perfectly. Color choice is great too(i've built a red s13 silvia too..which i'll post new pics of soon since I recently redid a few things with it). Being an s13 fan myself I always have to check out the threads whenever anyone posts one. As always your builds are top notch, and I always look forward to seeing them completed, good luck with the rest of the build. Gray
  4. Looks great!, I love Daytonas. Great job on the motor too, I'm working on one of these kits and i'm gonna drag it out and try and finish it now.. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing it done. Gray
  5. thats just totally awesome....the wheels, the color and most importantly the powerplant, all make up one excellent car. In case you can't tell I really like it. Gray
  6. I saw that just the other day after a search on the HAMB..I've been thinking of a Porsche powered A truck for a while and had searched up there over the last few months but I didn't find much. After seeing that the other day it helped jump start me...His truck looks good, but I'm going to go after a slightly different style with this one. Thanks for the links btw...never hurts to have lots o' reference material. EDIT: BIG thanks for the build up pics...I'd only found the finished truck pics before, thanks!! Gray
  7. Oh now I wanna see that....(hmm remembers that I have a tamiya gt1 kit too, lol). I'm currently looking for some reference material from 914s on how the 911 engine goes into one(mid engine layout v/s rear) but for simplicity's sake and uniqueness I'll more than likely stick with the standard layout. Thanks for the compliments Martin and Izzy, I'll keep you guys updated. Gray
  8. Hey guys, I moved into my new house this weekend and while my new work area isn't completely set up yet, the ideas started flowing so I broke out the crazy modeller pe saws and started cutting, and ended up with this.... take one Fujimi enthusiast 73 Carrera RS and mix it with a leftover cab from Revell Model A ford pickup and this is what you get. This is very early in the build but its going to be Porsche motored, torsion bar suspension front and rear(based off the Carrera parts) cam actuated shocks, and Porsche racing buckets/brakes/headlights and maybe wheels. This may get built along side a more normal Porsche 911 hot rod I wanna build(67 911 R slightly modernized) just to show that the term hot rod has many meanings..lol anyway enjoy...C&C always welcome.. Gray
  9. Can I make a request that someone going take some pics for me??? Thanks Gray
  10. Thanks for the info, i'd love to try to go but this year may be pushing it. I just hope they will keep doing this for the time being, I may not be able to go this year due to the fact that I have to take on a part time job to keep the family going...maybe next year... Gray
  11. Yeah if anyone has some info, i'd love to check it out! Gray, btw Dave, howdy..i'm over in Wilkes county..not too far from Elkin if I'm correct..
  12. Hmm once I get moved to the new house and my money situation allows a little to be spent on models, I'm building a Camaro like that one from Gumball Rally now..that sucker is sweet!!!
  13. looking good Marc!, I've got a set of those wheels myself, and they have a classy yet tough look to em. Keep up the great work on this one, and I hope you get some time at the bench this weekend....my bench is being packed up for moving! Gray
  14. cool stuff Gregg, Congrats on the new ride, those FJ's realy rock, and many of the hard core off-roaders have really embraced it too...nice! Gray
  15. looks good, funny you chose Galaxy gray, beautiful color, and I was actually at first going to paint mine the same color. Great job so far though, and I like the wheels.. Gray
  16. Hmm carbon fiber.....if I could eat it I would, its the stuff dreams are made of, your CF looks wonderful, and thats not a bad idea about treating each sub-assembly like a kit in itself, great work so far, I'm keeping tabs on this one. Gray
  17. Marcos the detail work you've done so far looks great, I really liked those first wheels you were going to put on it though...never seen that look on a 57 before... keep up the great work Gray
  18. as I said in Davkins thread, I love quad headlights and these look pretty good, as well as the tails...good work so far man Gray
  19. hmm quad headlights, I like em...good work so far, the grill looks great too. Gray
  20. Nice color and work on the stripes! motors looking good too. I'm a Camaro fan so I'm loving it already Gray
  21. Hey guys, thanks for all the compliments so far, I've got a few pics for tonight of some small stuff, but this might be the last progress you'll see for a while since I'll be moving into the house I just bought last month over the next few weeks(been over there alot lately getting work and painting done). Anyway I got some more work done on the grille for the hideaways, and still have to figure out what I'll do for the "eggcrate" thats already there to make it look less egg crate-like...lol(i'm considering filling it all in and cf decaling it with the center strip chrome ) It will have a pe RS emblem in the center from a mcg 67 Camaro set once its all done. I've included a few pics with this post of 2 other wheel options and 2 front end options I'm trying to decide upon. One option for the front end is the beginnings of the lower vents I've started, or the resin piece thats sitting up there. I'm actually leaning towards the resin piece since I'm having a hard time figuring out how to tie the other style into the front end. Lastly I plan to do some Z06 style vents to cover the holes in front of the rear wheelwells, but I want to wait until I get some putty work done to the flares.. Let me know what you think guys Also I've included pics of a set of CE28N's with a lip in the back, and a set of Tamiya Ferrari Enzo wheels without any added lip since they look similar to the current Vette Z06 wheels. Tell me what you think of those v/s the Volks originaly shown Ok for those asking about color, I actually originally planned on black like the hotwheels i've got, then I decided HOK Galaxy Gray like the color of my old 240sx was painted...then I decided I want a blue car, so I'm thinking of something similar to the Z06 color Le Mans blue...which i've got a bottle of nail polish and some tamiya blues that I think will get me close. The interior regardless of exterior color will be black and red, and the wheels will be a dark gray like the Comp. Gray color on the Z06 Vette wheels. Well thats about it for tonight, sorry for the long winded post...i'm bad about that..lol. As always C&C are welcome Gray
  22. Steve, I like this T coupe, I've seen a few built up here and there, and I really like the shape and the height of the roof. Excellent work so far, and those wire wheels simply rock, they look very realistic and very representative of what rodders are putting on thier rides these days in the traditional rod world. Great work, keep it up! Gray
  23. looks good!, great work on the flames, and excellent choice of wheels... Gray
  24. Hey guys, after seeing Transformers I was inspired to build my Camaro kit, I've been interested in the car since seeing the concept for the first time, and I do plan to own one when they come out, so in an attempt to build one in a style not done yet, I figured I'd build this in the way I'd like mine to look like I started looking at some Corvette forums, and fell in love with the current Z06, and decided this was the style I wanted my Camaro to be. I call it the RS-7 as in the stripped down but fast corner carver RS with the 427 engine with the signature RS hideaway headlights and some mild body cladding and flares to accommodate some serious rubber...much like the Z06 vette. I was going to do an lt-5 motor but to keep the rest of the build simple i'm going with the kit lump, but slighly detailed and dry-sumped. wheels are aoshimas new volk Gt-v with an added lip in the back and some of Marc Nellis' fine p-zeros. Here it is in very early stages, hope you guys like it! as always C&C are welcome. Gray
  25. Well I stopped by my local Wally today and saw that they moved the model section as well, no smaller area, just moved it. Was fairly stocked with revell stuff, odd though(to me) was for the first time not seeing any amt stuff. They did have the new Merc(not my cup of tea) and the Lindberg truck set, but other than that, nothing else new. Oh well I'll just keep on supporting the local hobby places and the remaining online folks too. But as it stands now, i'm well stocked for kits for a while. Gray
