  1. Nice job! Love the nostalgic NASCARs.
  2. So many choices, so little time . . .
  3. That IS sweet!
  4. Wow! What an awesome day! The real thanks go to Bernie Kankiewicz and all the members of the Cactus Car Modelers and their wives who make this event happen, to many of the Moonlight Modelers Club members who volunteer their time to help out, to the great crew of judges who have to sift through hundreds of winning models to select the award-winners, to the generous sponsors who provide the capital to make it happen, and to the vendors, spectators, and fantastic builders who come to the event, enter their exquisite models and share their time, experience, knowledge, humor and friendship. It's my great honor and privilege to hang out there and be a part of the event. It's always great to see old friends, new friends, young friends, friends only seen once a year, and meet new friends-candidates! DSC has become a great canvass for a living work of modeling art, and I'm proud and fortunate to be a small part of it all. God, it was a great day! My only regret is the day is so fast-paced that I seldom get a chance to really visit ~ quality time ~ with anyone as much as I'd like. Even the barbeque afterward flashes past so quickly . . . I hope everyone had a good a time as I did! PS: This pic was taken even before all the entries hit the tables! The 'Deer-in-the-Headlights' look provided for this photo courtesy my good friend, the G-ster! LOL.
  5. Congratulations, Brad! You did quite well, yourself. Brad won Best in Class - 1st Place Diorama, and Best Interior Master Award at DESERT SCALE CLASSIC 10 for this creation. Well done, my friend. This exquisite little travel trailer diorama was as fun to examine in person as I imagined from the photos and its occasional in-progress appearances at club meetings.
  6. Oh, man! The more you look at this model, the less you think it's a model! Amazing build. Just amazing. Won Best of Class ~ 1st Place Large Scale and The Bob Peeples Memorial Best Engineered awards at DESERT SCALE CLASSIC 10. * And, as always, it was great to have John in the house along with the 321 guys and his SOA jacket and the gurlz he goes with! Fun guys. Next time you see John, ask him about breakfast in Phoenix!
  7. I know exactly why you have salt on the floor of your garage, Harry. Makes perfect sense to me. Your own personal little Bonneville!
  8. Incredible!!
  9. Wow! Looks great, Gregg!! Obviously a very nice kit. Glad to see this one on the market.

    Very nice.
  11. I was there that year, but I wasn't invited to that breakfast. Fortunately, Moose slipped some extra servings into a napkin that he smuggled out to me.
  12. "Look for a big fat guy with a short beard and glasses. Jeans and a t shirt." Well, that describes about 60% of the people who will be there! We'll see you then, Russ!
  13. She probably thought the doctor was telling her she was pregnant with a baby named chlamydia. Don't they all come from the factory with a name? Just like the Cabbage Patch dolls?
  14. And I knew one that spelled it Krin. Wanted it pronounced care-inn. ??
  15. 7am, Jesse. Looking forward to seeing you there!!
  16. A friend was a nurse in a hospital obstetrics unit. One of her personal favorites was the young genius who saw "female" on the birth certificate and thought the hospital already named the baby girl for her. She answered 'fee-mall-ee' when asked the baby's name and she spelled it out 'F...E...M...A...L...E.' The birth certificate was recorded as she wished. That 'Female' could well be a relative of the one G encountered. Sometimes those screwball names are remarkably predictive. I once encountered a guy whose parents had named him "Felon." He was.
