You REALLY need to stop listening to 'Something.' -
what if Edsel had made garden tractors, hot rod grills

I would think he's talking about this one, Jim: -
With all due respect, Spot, they don't actually fit in the commonly accepted definition of 'rat rods.' The glossy show-car paint, chrome, and finely finished appearances make them more consistent with traditional street rods, rather than grimy, junky beater-style rods referred to as 'rat rods.' Of course, your experience may differ. Regardless, they're nice builds!

Wow! That'll grab you. Great model.

Hey, there you go! A good, logical explanation.

Excellent.

Yeah, baby! Coming along. Looks suspiciously like a Nev HP car!

How big is your work table ?
Danno replied to Fender's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm like everybody . . . 8' bench, 1' square effective working area. But I find myself working piecemeal at the dining room table . . . just to be with others. -

Excellent! Thanks for sharing, Bernie. Sorry I missed it earlier!

The police car release hasn't hit the streets yet. I'm sure the radio will be in it. It was not in the original, factory-stock issue. I was just surprised to see the radio show up in the NASCAR issue . . . but Rob makes a good point: They no doubt ran the NASCAR issue and the police car issue at the same time (since they're being issued/released within days of one another), so they couldn't waste the time/expense of running the same sprue with and without the radio for the two issues. With that said, I'll say again ~ any NASCAR builders who don't want the radio are welcome to let me dispose of their unused radios for them! PM me.

The Auto Theft Task Force has an impressive fleet of nearly invisible vehicles cruising the state. Only some of them are as obvious as having visible LPRs. BTW ~ Interesting factoid: The Crown Wick or CVPI is quickly becoming outnumbered in the AZ DPS fleet by F150s, with Tahoes a close third.

Awesome build, Zoli. Welcome back! Question 1: Who is Art? Question 2: Where do we find Art? Question 3: What is the diameter of the GPS puck? Thanks!

Count me in as a dehydrator-devotee. I have three. One is the common round job with removable rings (the one in Don Banes' post above). Works for everything 1/24-1/25 scale, including bodies. For medium-sized jobs (lots of bodies, chassis, frames at once, or trucks, etc.), I use the kitchen oven. No heat, just turn on the light bulb inside the oven. Believe it or not, the oven light alone generates enough wattage to raise the internal temperature to around 95-100 degrees. Safety Tip: When I'm using the oven for drying, I leave a paint can on the stove top. That's our universal signal to not pre-heat the oven for a pizza or cook anything on the stove top until I get the model stuff out. For larger jobs, I have the Sonoran Desert outside my casa/shopa. All three work great for their respective assignments!

I bought a wrecked Cutlass coupe for $200 once. Drug it home. The Lovely & Gracious Mrs. B was not so lovely or gracious about it. But then I used about $1,000 worth of parts from it to upgrade various odds and ends on our Cutlass convertible. And, then, I sold the coupe parts car for $300. Yes, she did apologize. -
I said it too, I meant no slight to you by any means. I'm sorry if it seemed to strike to close to home. It was not intended to do so. I know that no one 'banged' Ira. That was actually my point. It is interesting how some people can post phantasy builds or phantom models without a single post from anyone critiquing the build by commenting 'Gee, that won't work' or words to a similar effect, while on the other hand, some people can post phantasy builds or phantom models that attract commentary about whether their work is real-world accurate or real-world realistic, plausible, or feasible. That's all I was articulating. > (I mentioned Ira only to illustrate the point, because he has a couple of very popular threads currently going that involve phantom/phantasy builds.) I have all the respect in the world for Ira's uber-creative phantom/phantasy builds! I likewise respect Ray's (or anyone else's) talent, right, and privilege to create phantom/phantasy builds without having their feet held to the rivet-counting fire of reality/replication/accuracy. I did not mean to create the impression I was calling you out, as I did not intend to call you out. I stand by my comment, but it was not meant to target you or your post, directly or otherwise. Again, my apologies if you misunderstood my post and if it was oblique enough to cause you to misunderstand it. Communication is a two-way street, even on the internet. If my end failed you, I apologize also. Peace?
