  1. Use a tiny amount of epoxy to install the wire perpendicular to the valve cover, then as bend the wire to a 90-degree angle at the valve cover and apply a small dab of the epoxy over the hole, creating a tiny mound of epoxy covering the hole and the emerging wire. Once the epoxy sets, paint it semigloss black or dark gray, or if you're getting really dressy, paint it whatever color you want that matches your plug wires.
  2. That kit was one of my first 1/2 dozen car models!! Extravagent automobile perfectly rendered by AMT into an extraordinary model.
  3. Nice builds. Brush painted? Exceptional builds!
  4. Nice save.
  5. Yeah. I think this truly means the two unbuilt 1/8 Big Jags I have on the shelf in my stash will be staying on the shelf in my stash. I'm going back to buying Hot Wheels!
  6. I vividly remember that issue of Car Model Magazine . . . the How-To article by Dave Shuklis showing his method of building a working convertible top out of brass strips, pins, and thin linen for that '50 Ford ragtop . . . well, it just knocked me out!! I tried for months to build one, using Dave's articles, plans, and photos, but never could pull it off. I marvelled at his genius and his prowess. Then years later I learned the extent of the physical disabilities he overcame every time he crafted another world-class cover model. I'll always revere his talent and sheer determination! What a modeling role model he was. It was the "little pages" that brought him and other early stars into the lives of so many of us budding modelers.
  7. In the context of your question, Ray, the answer is usually just one word: EGO.
  8. Excellent point, Jim! Not to mention, competition aside, just the consumer experience would be impacted by printer quality, material quality, and possibly operator failure. Does a "kit" producer/provider want those wild-card factors (over which they have little control) to affect their image in the marketplace? After all, if a consumer has a carpy built model, you know it's only going to be the kit producer/provider's fault!!!
  9. Wooohooo! Off to a great start, G. That interior looks verrrry good!
  10. Excellent!!! Love the valve/cam cover!
