On another note, the funeral and interment services are today for the slain officer Ray posted about. Officer David Glasser, RIP. He gave his all for his fellow man. I met him professionally, can't say I knew him or that he was a friend, but he was my brother. I have friends who knew him well. Great man, devoted father to two small children, loyal and loving husband to a young woman who is now a widow, and a truly kind and generous friend to many. A tremendous loss to us all.

Dittos, G. Bill, thank you for your kind words. We've always said we (in the law enforcement community) deal everyday with the best people at their worst and the worst people at their best. Maintaining an even keel and objective perspective, while keeping the safety, peace and dignity of the constituency, and yet remaining safe and healthy for another day, well . . . that's the constant challenge that keeps us getting up every day and 'going to the office.'

Those are indistinguishable from the AA wheels manufactured by Ma's Resins. -

So, Chris, you been hitting the bottle again, eh? Stunning work, my friend! This will truly be the build of the decade! (Not just because that's how long it's been gestating. ) -
Congrats on the great teamwork and grizzled leadership, G! Old skool still rools!

Wow, Brad! How did I miss this thread all these years? Fortunately, I didn't miss Joe's Garage itself, and Dave's right -- the pix just don't do the real thing justice! Great upgrades, my friend. You're right: it'll probably never be 'done.'

Inaugural LA Roadster Show Model Car Display
Danno replied to Art Laski's topic in Contests and Shows
Dittos what Chris said! Art, I wish you and your new event good fortune, abundant attendance and participation, and overall success! On behalf of DSC, all the same! And I'm confident that I can say both clubs here (Moonight Modelers and Cactus Car Modelers) are equally supportive. It sounds like a great event with huge potential, and I know it will do well. {Besides, if Rusty's gonna be there, it can't go wrong, huh?!} Unfortunately, I can't personally be there this time (prior family commitments), but I'll keep the option open for next year! Godspeed and do well, my friend! -
I've had #200 for 3 months or so. Issue #201 is en route to the printer.

Model A with a Polly
Danno replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's spelled 'poly,' teacher. I was expecting to see a parrot sitting on the Model A. -
What did you see on the road today?
Danno replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I wasn't worried about him. It's all the Gomers and Gomerettes that treat afternoon rush hour traffic as a free-admission Roller-Ball / Mad Max / bumper car tournament and the no-insurance clapped-out econobox salvage-yard refugee berners sharing the streets with him, competing with everyone on the road for same asphalt square-footage. Those low-information hordes swarming around him were the ones that concerned me - for his sake. I don't even like driving my milk-toast Bureau car in the midst of those Neanderthal numbskulls. And, I WON'T drive my vintage Malibu in amongst them. A McLaren? Unthinkable. -
What did you see on the road today?
Danno replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No pics due to traffic & safety considerations, but a dood was out cruising afternoon rush hour traffic in the Arrowhead area in his brand-new {paper plate from a dealer} candy red pearl McLaren 675LT. Whoa! Niiiiiiiiiiice! But, Dood - rush hour traffic? -
Charlie also needs to get professional help with those wires & lights that aren't working. That's dangerous. Where there is insulation that's been chewed up, there's potential for a fire to result from exposed wires. I can't even remember how many structure fires I've investigated over the years that were caused by vermin chewing through wiring insulation in attics.

Congrats, G!!!

She talks? Never noticed.

Christine puts the HOT in HOT! But, she knows it. "Happy HOT wife, happy life." Tareeq understands that . . . and she works it! Can't blame him for being whipped.

What kits did you miss ?
Danno replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What kinds of prices have they been drawing, Bill? I've recently gotten the hankering, but I haven't been following the market. -
