  1. Buick GSX is done! This kit for its age goes together very easily. I ran into no fit issues. The only thing I had a problem with was mounting the front and rear bumpers. There is no positive mounting points. Other than that, ajust the right height and you have a beautiful model of a beautiful car! I’ll post the rest of my pictures on the under glass section. Thanks for the boost in getting this one done!
  2. The Street Shark issue was one of the first models I built when I was 10 years old. I built it like the box art. It was destroyed over the years and lost. A few years back, I recreated it. The only deviation is the American Mags.
  3. The separate quarter extensions must be for a 1969 issue down the road. Even the chrome tree has the bumpers and grill in an obvious secluded area to be replaced with the 69 bumpers and grill.
  4. My daughter couldn’t wait for Christmas for me to open this one!
  5. Down to the final details. The interior is glued in. The chassis glued in. I’m calling it a night.
  6. Thanks disconovaman! Foil is done. Working on the ride height. Out of the box, the rear sits too low. This is box height. And bellow that is shimmed to the way I like it.
  7. This weekend I was able to mold the nose, rear bumper cover and L88 hood for the Baldwin Motion Corvette. Resin will be poured Tuesday.
  8. My cousin was a big time Buick fan. My aunt and uncle bought a 68 Buick skylark brand new. They gave him the car when he turned 18. He turned it into an all out street racer. He had the transmission rebuilt at Motion Performance. He pulled the transmission out at his house in Uniontown, Long Island New York. He put it in a shopping cart and proceeded to push the card to Baldwin Long Island. Roughly 10 miles!
  9. My supervisor is very understanding. Then again, I did build him a model of his 69 Mach 1! Here at my desk at home. ...
  10. Some progress on the Motion Vette. I couldn’t find my resin hood and was prepto make a new one. While looking for something else (of course) I found it. I will make a rubber mold tonight!
  11. Believe me that is not the norm! That was while on break at work. It all has to be gone by the end of shift because someone else sits at the desk.
  12. I separated the grill/bumper assembly into it’s base components. First because the plating is terrible. Second, the headlight surrounds need to be yellow. And third, I want to paint the grill black.
  13. I love projects like these! Seeing multiple bodies coming together to replicate something completely different and unavailable. Reminds me of one I have to get back to.
  14. The core of the wheel was made on a Dremel believe it or not. Once that was made some other pieces were added and the holes drilled. Very carefully! ? As a failsafe I would make a mold after certain period of progress. So if I messed up I had something to fall back to without having to start all over. I built the 507 but it was a job. I set up all the parts for these wheels in a mold box. I will pour the silicone in the next few days.
  15. I’ll look and see if I have another set. I made these up myself around 2001. I have 4 of these kits and I cast extras. If need be, I’ll pop one of these out and cast more.
  16. These are knock-offs, just not done yet. Here is what they look like done.
  17. Are these the wheels you were looking for?
  18. Yes the AMT kit is the ZR1 currently available at 40% off locally. I cut out the rear section of the GB and then what was required from the AMT kit. The fit was pretty darned good! I replaced the windshield frame from the 75 MPC kit. That helped create the upper windshield frame that was lacking on the AMT ZR1. As far as the L88 hood goes I made one years ago for the Motion Manta Ray. I have resin copies.?? I have a very nice 74 nose to cast for it. This conversion took about 3 hours tonight. Not too bad.
  19. Going to combine these two to make a 1974 T-Top Corvette.
