  1. I’ve built this Corvette in around 1992 to 1995. I had met Joel Rosen at that time and he suggested I try building his car. He had just bought it back and was having it restored. I may have mentioned all this in a previous post. I decided to give it a mild restoration myself. I didn’t touch the bodywork at all. It’s got a couple cracks. But I’m going to leave it alone. The striping on the side isn’t quite right, and a couple other little things. This Corvette Phase III GT represented the most expensive Phase III GT ever built. It had to be billed twice because while sitting on the lot waiting for delivery, the car next to it caught fire and burned it to the ground. So he built the second one to send to the buyer. So I will build a second one also. More to come!
  2. That is the hood scoop from the 1969 Baldwin Motion Camaro. I had used that scoop to make a hood for a 69 Chevelle. After I cast it and resin I used it again on the Vega.
  3. I remove the floor from the Oldsmobile interior so I could use the rest on the 68 Chevelle interior floor boards. Take your time and work slowly, I think this will work perfectly. All I had to do to make everything sit properly was to grind the corner where the seat back and seat meet and the top of the driveshaft tunnel. As you can see here the door panels are sitting square on the floor. All I had to do was add a little material to the end of the kick panels. That will be painted black. Last night before went to bed I removed the door vent windows from the Chevelle. I trimmed them only removing what was not needed from the Chevelle and they dropped right into place in the Oldsmobile! No modifications necessary! I did not mount them on the doors yet since this is just a mock up the body. The painted body is at work. Maybe tomorrow during one of my breaks I will install them. Does anyone know where I can find a set of these wheels?
  4. That’s a great project! Always wanted to do a Sox and Martin car. Looking forward to this one!
  5. Do you think I can get away with just using the door panels, seats and dash and build it all up on the Chevelle floor? Never mind that suggestion. I just compared the 68 interior to the 69 and they’re identical. So I think I will just build the interior off the floor of the 68 Chevelle with the 69 parts. I’ll add door handles and armrest for extra visual detail since the 69 tub style interior is very flat.
  6. It’s a 69 with a Modelhaus 68 conversion kit. I have a 68 diecast that I’m wondering if the interior can be used ....
  7. Six more weeks huh? How about I Git this one done? Painted about 10 years ago. It’s always sitting on my bench.
  8. The Honcho is done! I’m very pleased with this one! It’s been a long time in my mind. It is just as I wanted and more thanks to a friend at work who suggested making the plow fully functional. It pivots left and right, raises and lowers, and tilts forward. I wasn’t sure the springs would be strong enough to pull it back upright, but they do! The tires are from a Matchbox Gravedigger and tje color is Duplicolot GM Torch Red. All three pistons operate. Thanks to Snake45 for the Bring out your Dead thread. That’s two that might not be done for me otherwise! And here they both are!
  9. Are you building it as the Baldwin Motion car or something else?
  10. Probably pennant blue from that year
  11. A little progress but a lot of hours on the computer for this. I wanted to make a Meyer decal for the plow blade. I made it in two sizes. I went wit the smaller on in the end. I’m very happy with it!?? If anyone wants a set of decals, I have 15 sets I can send out. Message me.
  12. Honcho is nearing the finish line! Just a few odds and ends left!
  13. Very nice! This is a favorite subject of mine that is very high on the list to complete.?
  14. Honcho update: I made bed side caps from a resin sheet of diamond plate. Sanded it until you could almost see through it! Set the interior in place. Foiled most of the window trim. The step bumper replicates the one on my friend’s J-10. I shortened the width and added the diamond plate.
  15. With the Baldwin Motion Chevelle pretty much done, I can move over to the Honcho. I simulated a Rhino Bed lining with misted on Krylon seni-gloss. Then I started mocking up the ride height and wheel and tire combinations. I put the stock tires on first and they looked a little too small. I found this set of 5 slots in an older Honcho. I don’t recall where they came from. I mounted the on tires from a Grave Digger matchbox!? I think I like them!
  16. Last pictures before I post completed model. All that’s left is door handles and lenses!
  17. Pretty interesting! Looks like they used the Nickey Camaro hood.
  18. Over the past couple days I polished out the body on the 1968 Baldwin Motion Chevelle. I painted the vinyl top this morning and then added all the chrome foil. Hopefully going into final assembly verl
  19. I love black cars!?
  20. That is Duplicolor Torch Red. A GM color. Looks even better in person! You are correct!
  21. Anyone know why the pictures come out different sizes sometimes? Never mind, now they are all the same....
  22. Paint time! Today I managed to sneak in two paint jobs! The Honcho and the 1968 Baldwin Motion Chevelle?
