  1. I've bought from both. Good service and no issues.
  2. A little birdie told me that the MPC Rally Sport Camaro body will be available in resin real soon.... It's still the best Gen 2 Camaro body out there IMHO.
  3. David hit me up for one Kyle, but I did not have an extra. The extra one I had was sacrificed for the rear spoiler on my '74 Cuda.
  4. Fresh out of the mold and available for purchase. The master came from a built MPC annual. Spoiler package for a Judge build is also available. Use the AMT ex-MPC 1972 GTO for the rest of the bits and if you want a more detailed chassis, look no further than the AMT '69 442. Email direct to ReliableResin@aol.com to order.
  5. Looks like you are off to a good start Dave. I won't be able to start on mine until I finish painting the upstairs of my house. You know how those "honey do's" are!!!
  6. I've not seen these specifically for the SBC, but the AMT ex-MPC 1980's Dodge Daytona kits (front wheel drive) has a V8 Mopar option with those that could be made to work.
  7. The AMT '66 Nova pro street has a nice one and includes a tunnel ram and two fours. The Revell '69 Camaro Z/28 has a nice one too with a beautiful set of headers.
  8. If you look further down the page, there are some smooth bumpers minus the holes.
  9. What's happening here is a regional hobby store chain is liquidating their stock of AMT kits and it's viewed as a buying opportunity. It's not every day that you can purchase current kits at 40% off retail. By nature, most of us are pretty astute kit horders!!!
  10. Forgot to say in my previous reply, but you probably will be seeing one similar to Dale Jr.'s from MPC Motorsports. I recently scored a nice built MPC '71 Camaro SS that would be perfect for this project. Once I finish my current 1:1 project (painting the upstairs inside my home ), I'll be getting back to the bench and starting some new projects.
  11. I with you on this one. I LIKE the first gen F Bodies, but I LOVE the Gen 2 cars!!! The Gen 2 cars had an exotic Italianesque styling flair to them that was way more original than the Mustang inspired first generation.
  12. Thanks. That's Dale Earnhardt's new personal ride. It was built by Detroit Speed and Engineering. Here's a bigger pic of that car. This car is inspiring me to build another Gen 2 Camaro. Dale Earnhardt's new Pro Touring Camaro
  13. I just got back from another Tulsa area Hobby Lobby and all AMT kits were removed from the regular model shelves and marked down 40%. They didn't have many to choose from, but I managed to snag a couple of AMT Dukes Chargers to use for restoration parts for some built annuals I have.
  14. I just stopped by a HL store here in Tulsa OK and only a handful of select AMT kits were marked down and on a separate display. All the usual AMT kits were regular priced. I'll watch and keep everyone posted as this progresses to our market. BTW, HL's HQ is in Oklahoma City.
  15. If you really have the jones to build a '68 Coronet, they are available in resin from Modelhaus, R&R, and by the unknown caster of resin kits to Hobby Heaven and Model Roundup. I got one from Model Roundup that I'm cleaning up. It's decent but in retrospect I would get the Modelhaus or R&R version. I got Modelhaus chrome and red taillights for mine and had to remove the molded in hood. The hood was glued in on the master and not to even at that. I'm using glass from an AMT '68 Road Runner but I'm undecided on the '68 RR chassis or an old style wire axle Mopar B Body chassis. You guys that know me know which one I'll probably use. With the cleanup work (flash removal, pinholes, bubbles, remove hood, open taillight cavities) plus what I paid for Modelhaus parts I would have been money ahead. I've seen the R&R and it's a good one too. I got the one I did because Modelhaus had dropped theirs from the catalog when AMT pre-announced the Coronet for reissue and I thought the one I got was all there was. R&R's is a newer release too. Watch for some pics of mine soon.
  16. I received this kit in the mail today. It's an AMT 1972 Chevelle SS annual that is unbuilt, open, complete except for a few small optional parts. Most parts were off the sprues. Great box art, huh? Here's a close up of the end panel with the kit number. Note the SS emblem on the grille. Here's the grille that was inside the box. See the difference? The grille has a "bow tie" instead of the SS emblem. I've only seen one built up Chevelle with the bow tie grille and I'm not sure it wasn't an old aftermarket part. Did this kit come with an "SS" grille or a "bow tie" grille? The rear bumper has the "SS" on it. If not, which AMT 1972 Chevelle kit came with the "bow tie" grille? Or, could this have been a running change to the 1972 annual kit?
  17. I would use your paint of choice and overcoat with two-part urethane clear. Can't get much tougher than that.
  18. Here's one I did...it's an MPC 1974 Barracuda annual. I removed the exhaust under the rear end and replaced it with aluminum rod. I used a panel scriber and went around all sides of the exhaust. After I painted the chassis matt black, I masked off the exhaust system and airbrushed with Alclad steel. Sure, it's not as good as a separate exhaust, but it shows what can be done if a newer, more detailed replacement is not available.
  19. J, Those AMT kits with the molded in exhausts were done YEARS ago, back when most of the tooling did double duty with the promo models that car dealerships gave away. None of the newer tooled AMT kits dating back to the mid-late 1970's had the molded in exhausts that I recall.
  20. I have that kit and Tamiya's photoetch detail set that goes with it. Someday, it will be my first Tamiya build. I too hope that one of Japan's little three toolsl up the new GT-R.
  21. Nice!!! Where did those valve covers come from?
  22. From this coming weekend's Heartland Model Car Nationals class list: Curbside…Model which does not employ an opening hood, doors, or trunk, and is not meant to display engine or chassis detail. Judged as if parked at the curb, without access to the underside They do judge the interior in this class. Most of your imported kits fall into this category, as do domestic snap kits. Hope this helps.
  23. 7 weeks??? On my time line that would be 7 months LOL!!! BTW, very nice!!!
  24. Yes sir!!! This will be my 5th year at Heartland. This car has been on the project table the last two shows, so it will be nice to display the finished product. See you there! P.S. be sure to add your full name in your signature before Jairus, the "Barney Fife" of the Model Cars Magazine Online Forum, busts ya!!!
