  1. Your welcome Dennis. Keith Wiseman of Wiseman models also sells a log trailer but it’s more pricey than Dons and I like Dons better. I bought 3 of these before the guy sold his company to Keith the suspension is junk and hard to work with as for Dons just falls together very simple with the same results. What truck do you plan on using to make your log truck? Thanks for the complement on my trucks they were fun to build. Here’s a couple of my favorites of the NP.
  2. Looks good. I had a lot of fun building mine I cut off everything needed off of the AMT frame and transferred it to a Monogram Freightliner frame and it fit perfectly. Here’s you a couple pics to look at how it turned out if you decided to go this route.
  3. Looking good so far sometimes it’s hard to keep it with our budget but in the end it’s worth it.
  4. Yes it is and I think a lot of us has a GMC Astro in the stash somewhere lol.
  5. Here we go! I’ve always been intrigued with this truck the very first time I saw it. The more I studied it the more interesting the truck got. It first appeared in Season 2 episode 2 aired September 16 1975. I’m almost positive this was a debut truck for the New options for the upcoming 1976 GMC Astros. AMT also updated there existing kit as well by changing the Grab handles, exhaust, Grill and changed how the Front cab mounts are glue on by fill the Holes where the old ones mounted. This is why you see some GMC Astro Model Cabs mounted so high. They also drilled holes where the Grab Handles go and added the New “Drag Foiler”. Getting back to the real truck. The most it appears we’re in Season 2 Episode 18 that aired January 27 1976. They painted the bottom yellow now and it stayed that way till the end. It’s final appearance was in the last episode “Sing it again Sonny”. I’m going try to build this truck as close to the Movie truck as I can it may not be exactly like it but close enough for me. Hope you enjoy.
  6. Dennis the Revell KW will work fine if you plan on putting the Stinger on you will have to modified the back of it. I have a couple of these kits and I’ve talked to Don for years. The Revell KW frame can be used on any of Dons Cabs if he still sells them. I’ve also used Dons wheels and tires on all my Revell KWs that’s on my O scale layout here’s a couple pics for you to look at as a guide of what they will look like with his parts and wheels and tires.

  13. Thanks for the complement I appreciate it
  14. Yeah it was a one of a kind I think I’ve been researching this truck for a several years now and I can’t find nothing about it. Check out that “ Astro” badge on the side and the square road lights in the bumper. Here’s the dash which is very different also it’s going to be such a fun build
  15. Ok before we start I’ve changed my mind. I’ve been wanting to build this truck for several years but in a little different than what it was in the Movin On Episode. I’ll be doing the same colors but using the GMC General type decals leaving it the same WB. as the Model. So this is my new entry. This truck I’m pretty sure was a “Limited Edition” or a debut truck for the New updates options for the Astro in late 1975 Early 1976 as the AMT model T-510 603 Instructions and according to the oldest ATL Truck Lines decals I have was printed in 1976. The Real truck appeared in Season 2 Episode 2. Of the Movin On series. I’ll do more research on this date. After this episode the truck appeared several times with different paint including the very last Movin On episode but I’ll wait to tell more about that in my thread.
  16. Casey thanks for sharing. I knew the Chevy Titan had one but didn’t know about this Titan Version. Thanks again.
  17. Thanks for the complement. Yes I am lately building these trucks I would like to get this one done.
  18. Nice. I’ve seen a pic of one of these but I can’t remember where.
  19. Looks very nice and a great GB also. Reminds me when I was a teenager building Trucks staying up all night on the weekends building getting it done in about that 48 hours and save my money and buy another kit 2 weeks later and do it all over. Looking forward to the end results.
  20. Worked on this one a little tonight. Added the interior and some cab details unfortunately some I’ve lost over the years an have to replace. I also added the stack and air cleaner. I don’t like the way the one looks going from the air breather to the blower so I’m going to remove it and fix it up a little.
  21. So are you in?? Be glad to have you
  22. That’s ok glad to have you jump in when your ready
  23. Glad to have you. Your build sounds interesting.
