BRGB 2023 Suggestion
Pete68 replied to Pete68's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
You will start your own thread in the Big Rig WIP but with the BRGB 2023 some where in the title so everyone in the GB will know when viewing your thread to make it easier for us to see your thread in the GB. When your finished place it in the “ Big Rigs Underglass” with BRGB 2023 in the title and your set. -

Great to have you along. I built one of these a couple years ago and put it on a Monogram frame because I’ve never seen one of these KW with the Rubber Block suspension lol. -

BRGB 2023 Suggestion
Pete68 replied to Pete68's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
It’s easy. I think we’re just going to stick with a Big Rig Group Build. So just pick a Truck ( not a pickup or 1 ton) The way it works is similar to the BRBO but there’s No winners or Prizes just a Group of people building Trucks and giving updates. I think we’re going for Updates at least once a month whether you’ve made progress or not just check in. When I get a some more people to sign up I’ll post a Official thread with the rules and the do’s and don’t’s I would like to get at least 10 people for this build. I’ll start a list now here and on February 1 who ever on the list we’ll take off but you can join in at anytime. -

I’ve decided not to go the movie Route. We’re just going to have a Big Rig Group Build so your heavy hauler will work. Let me know what kind your building so I can get a list going if you would like to join in. Thanks -

Yeah after I thought about it that’s why I posted another reply. I don’t think that would go over well. Let me know when you decide what to build. -

Guys I also forgot you can join in at anytime between the dates as follows in the above thread. I think it would be better if we just had a regular Big Rig Group Build so everyone who wants too join in can. Please let me know if your interested so I can start a list and we’ll be ready to go by the Start date. Thanks. -
Yeah me too

Anyone interested in just a plain Big Rig Group Build ?? No Prize No Competition just building for fun. I’ll host it we could have a theme like “Movie Trucks” any Scale trucks that have been in the Movies, TV shows as the main character or background trucks and there were a lot of cool background trucks in TV shows and movies for instance. It doesn’t matter if we have 10 Sonny Pruitt KWs that’s ok I think it would be interesting tell me what you think. It will run from February 1, 2023 -February 1, 2024.

Hey guys looks like this isn’t getting anywhere so how about just a plan old non competition Big Truck Group Build?? No prizes No first or last place just a plain GB. I’ll host it. I was thinking of a “Revist to old Started Builds” or we can build a fresh unbuilt one you guys decided. The GB will go from February 1 2023- February 1 2024 if you don’t finish it by the cut off you can always post it in the “under glass” at any time no pressure.

I always knew this trailer sat too high. Guess I’ll have to try to lower it like you did if my way doesn’t work -

Both are gone for now AITM is not up in the air Doug was forced to close AITM for good. -
Well said Brother! For years I watched you suffer beating off the pirates who love to copy your magnificent long hours scratch built work to sell it for pennies on the dollar under the the table. Thank goodness those years are behind us both as I suffered the same way only in the 1/87 HO scale as you know. Now we can just build and have fun. Hope to see one of your beautiful creations here in the “Under Glass” section.

Yes it demands a lot. When my Brother Bill was casting his products in the late 80s early 90s it was almost full time for him. I remember him saying he would talk for hours on the phone to customers taking away from his family time. Just another reason he closed up shop. I was very disappointed after he sold his rights and Masters to Jammie and he hasn’t casted much of my Brother’s beautiful and accurate work. I’ve learned long ago if you want something in resin you better get it now because who knows tomorrow they may be out of business.

You can get everything on his list and something’s he doesn’t advertise call him. He told me he was redoing his Photo ech for the AMT White Western Star side badges and a grill to make the 4000 White to make a White Western Star.

Most of that 80% wasn’t “Dave’s” he just casted what everyone sent him and just cleaned up Jim Etters and Doug Compton’s stuff (Who took over after Jim Etter) and never gets any credit for “His” hard work to keep it alive all through the the late 80s and early 90s Dave just rode on the coat tails of these fabulous Master Builders.

Yes call him directly still the same number he’s had for over 40 years
