  2. Car or pickup???
  3. Another great project!! These "slammer-type" frames (which, like the real Tri-Five frames) lend themselves to lots of projects. Really enjoy watching the upgrades you're doing Bob. DJ PS: RON COON stuff sure helps "upgrade" the builds, am a BIG fan of his!!!!
  4. That rates a 10 on the cool-scale!!!! DJ
  5. Enjoy watching your progress Bob, quality work!!! DJ
  6. DITTO!!! This thing is right up your alley!!! DJ
  7. The bulk of the colors can actually be "tinted" (at least slightly) by the "darkness" of the primer you choose to use as the base coat, dark colors not so much, but light colors can change a lot. EVERYONE has a different method to obtain the finish/shade they are after, and I've always been all about "what-ever-works-for-you"....... from past experience, have always chosen white primer under brighter/lighter colors and gray under darker colors to try to obtain "depth". If you are REALLY trying to end up with "something to take pride in", I would definately side with the guys who are suggesting the test panels to acquire exactly the color-depth/tone you want for your end result. GOOD LUCK, we are watching to see how you come out. DJ
  8. 351 and 4-spd would be cool, you have room for most anything you want to run, even a 427/4spd..... Any choice will be great!!!! (Watching the progress) DJ
  9. Good subject matter!!!! Will be watching..... Whatcha gonna use for engine/trans???? DJ

  12. VERY INTERESTING!!!!!! I too have a few of these just setting around, may have to try building a "stretch" wheelbase/twin-screw truck outta one of them. GREAT WORK Sam!!! Will be watching.... DJ
  13. STEVEN, Let me look, should be able to help you out, as none of the real trucks that I drove when I was young, had any automatic transmissions, (and that is all that I build)..... Will look this evening. DJ
  14. DITTO!!! I use the Tamiya products right along with each other (and knock on wood) have never run into any of the problems that you are having..... Also, I never leave the tape on longer than 30-45 minutes so that it doesn't "grow" onto the model. Hope you get your problem solved, the Sox & Martin cars make great additions to anyone's collection. DJ
  15. Cool project!!! Will be watching the progress...... DJ
  16. COOL ole round-tracker!!!! L O T T A Camaros ended up serving their last days on the dirt tracks across America........ DJ

  20. Really coming right along!!!! VERY COOL!!!! DJ
  21. CARL, As BOB stated, RON COON sells a lot of different tire/rim combos, cool part, the tires have the sizes listed right with the tires, and along with the size in actual "inch" listings, they also have them in "mm" listing (which in 1/25 scale basically relates to the actual "inch" size of the real tire.) So if you are trying to "replicate" a 30 inch tall tire, look for a 30mm size resin tire, want a 28 inch tall tire, look for 28mm, etc. GOOD LUCK on your hunt... DJ P.S.- I use a lot of RON'S Hoosier Dirt Boss tires and his T30 tire (which is the bigger Hoosier) YOU'LL LIKE EM!!!!
  22. Understood..... We all thought that Dave would be around forever, and just never got in a "rush" to stock-pile what we wanted...... DJ
