  1. ?? Great idea on recycling !!!!!! DJ
  2. Now that turned out AWESOME!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!!! DJ
  3. Agree entirely!! But, since there are several other Mack models already out on the market, would appear to me the the "powers that be" at Mack can, at least, be worked with. I understand that there are probably a large number of different subjects that would already be in production if it weren't for issues concerning the "fees" that some of the vehicle manufactures want to charge......... ? DJ
  4. OKAY........... how about them bringing out a truck kit of the old B MODEL MACK. Those were offered for YEARS, there were absolutely thousands of them on the roads for years, and, in the "resin caster's world" for trucks, was one of their MOST POPULAR offerrings...... Wanna pick something that would be a popular kit???? DJ
  5. ??? Will be watching this one for sure!!! VERY UNUSUAL!!!! DJ
  6. One of the BEST examples of model building I've ever seen. TWO THUMBS UP!!!! DJ
  7. Super sanitary job on the build, and really enjoyed the "under the hood" detailing, truly first class!!!! DJ
  8. Great save!!!! Considering what you had to start with, that's pretty amazing!!!! DJ
  9. Think you probably hit it right on the head, Warren, still had a few that I had on my wish list, WILL NOT hesitate this time when they come available... DJ
  10. PLUMB COOL!!! DJ
  11. ??? This project is really turning out GREAT!!!! Ya gotta love the challenge of "saving" some of our modeling history..... DJ
  12. Lookin' GOOD!! Great job Tony DJ
  13. ??? I'm with you Bill, if it had gotten the "backing" that Shelby and Ford provided the Cobra, no telling how the racing history would have gone.... NICE JOB!!!! DJ
  14. Not getting into the middle of things, but..... There is a fairly decent MEL engine in the AMT 32 Vicky kit ??? DJ
  15. The work you put into the build shows!!! GOOD JOB!!!! DJ
  16. ??? So I also thought..... Tried using some of the wife's "low odor/no splash" bleach, SIX WEEKS and still no de-chroming..... Went back out to WallyWorld and got a bottle of the "concentrated" bleach (where you can smell the ammonia), 90 minutes later, no chrome!!!!! Live and learn.... Hope this helps somebody else from repeating my error.... DJ
  17. ??? CARL Others may have better ideas, but, my method is to put the model into the freezer for a couple of days, and basically "freeze" the model, this normally makes the glue "turn loose"...... Good luck DJ
  18. ??? Gives me another option, THANKS CHAD!!!! DJ
  19. ??? THANKS A LOT GUYS!!!!!! There are a couple of different outlets here in Columbia that carry the Krylon products, will give it a try. Thanks again. Will also try the Duplicolor. DJ
  20. Our "local" hobby supply places (as it is.....) no longer are carrying any "semi gloss black" rattle cans in Tamiya or Testors..... WHAT are you using to "replace" them????? Still have a few cans of the Tamiya Gloss Black, and their Semi-gloss Clear, but would rather be able to use "one step"...... ANY help would be appreciated....... THANKS DJ
  21. ??? Sorry I don't have the "set-up" to post pictures, and only offering "what I use" to paint these type of rims (primarily the American TorqueThrust)........ On the 1:1 vehicles, I used a gray primer to "refinish" the darker gray colored spokes, the lighter gray I used a "flat aluminum" to paint....... On the models, I have used "flat-gray" for the darker, and "flat aluminum" for the lighter colored rims, (like in the original picture}...... Not perfect, but at least something that will make your model "resemble" the picture.....? DJ
  22. ??? I started building models on December 26, 1959 (guess who got models for Christmas???!!!!), and came to like the AMT kits early on as they were "less stressful" to build than many of the multi-piece bodies of that era.... They have not always been "perfect", but over the years have supplied hours-and-hours of enjoyment. As Steve said in his reply, the "subject matter" has always been important...... NOT disagreeing with anyone, just saying, even tho they may not have always been "perfect", they made items that I have enjoyed over the years......... DJ
  23. ??? GOOD LOOKIN!!!! Great job on a car of one of the greatest drivers ever!!!! DJ ps-- Great job of fighting the decals into place too, those ALWAYS give me fits!!!
