  1. Andy has it right, FE engine from the 34 Ford Pickup (whether in a Lindberg box or AMT) is "supposed" to be patterned after the 61 Ford 390/401 horse engine. ( Get a magnify glass and read the lettering on the valve covers, says THUNDERBIRD 390 ) The 40 is coming right along, great choice on the color combo!!!!! DJ
  2. ??? Just received a nice order from Ron Coon Resins today. Ordered last Friday, sent him a USPS money order to cover items (which he received on Monday} and my order was in the mail box this morning!!!! As always, Ron is pleasant & professional on the phone, quick & accurate on filling your order, and the product quality is 100% great!!!! Not everything I build are "roundie-rounders" and as you'll find while looking thru his website, his offerings cover a wide spread of builds. THANKS AGAIN RON DJ
  3. Looking forward to this one Brian, what are you going to use for engine????? DJ
  4. Curious to see whatcha use to come up with this set up...... GREAT JOB thus far!!!!! DJ
  5. ??? That's gotta be one of the wildest things I've ever seen!!!! You did a great job of fabricating on the missing parts, and a great job on the assembly!!!!!

  7. ?? Great idea on recycling !!!!!! DJ
  8. Now that turned out AWESOME!!!! GREAT JOB!!!!!! DJ
  9. Agree entirely!! But, since there are several other Mack models already out on the market, would appear to me the the "powers that be" at Mack can, at least, be worked with. I understand that there are probably a large number of different subjects that would already be in production if it weren't for issues concerning the "fees" that some of the vehicle manufactures want to charge......... ? DJ
  10. OKAY........... how about them bringing out a truck kit of the old B MODEL MACK. Those were offered for YEARS, there were absolutely thousands of them on the roads for years, and, in the "resin caster's world" for trucks, was one of their MOST POPULAR offerrings...... Wanna pick something that would be a popular kit???? DJ
  11. ??? Will be watching this one for sure!!! VERY UNUSUAL!!!! DJ
  12. One of the BEST examples of model building I've ever seen. TWO THUMBS UP!!!! DJ
  13. Super sanitary job on the build, and really enjoyed the "under the hood" detailing, truly first class!!!! DJ
  14. Great save!!!! Considering what you had to start with, that's pretty amazing!!!! DJ
  15. Think you probably hit it right on the head, Warren, still had a few that I had on my wish list, WILL NOT hesitate this time when they come available... DJ
  16. PLUMB COOL!!! DJ
  17. ??? This project is really turning out GREAT!!!! Ya gotta love the challenge of "saving" some of our modeling history..... DJ
  18. Lookin' GOOD!! Great job Tony DJ
  19. ??? I'm with you Bill, if it had gotten the "backing" that Shelby and Ford provided the Cobra, no telling how the racing history would have gone.... NICE JOB!!!! DJ
  20. Not getting into the middle of things, but..... There is a fairly decent MEL engine in the AMT 32 Vicky kit ??? DJ
  21. The work you put into the build shows!!! GOOD JOB!!!! DJ
  22. ??? So I also thought..... Tried using some of the wife's "low odor/no splash" bleach, SIX WEEKS and still no de-chroming..... Went back out to WallyWorld and got a bottle of the "concentrated" bleach (where you can smell the ammonia), 90 minutes later, no chrome!!!!! Live and learn.... Hope this helps somebody else from repeating my error.... DJ
  23. ??? CARL Others may have better ideas, but, my method is to put the model into the freezer for a couple of days, and basically "freeze" the model, this normally makes the glue "turn loose"...... Good luck DJ
