  1. Looking forward to see what all you do with this one Ken. Takes a LOT MORE to "save" one, than just take one outta the box!!!! DJ
  2. When I die, I want to die peacefully in my sleep (like my Grandpa did), not screaming and hollaring like all the people riding in the car with him did!!!!! DJ
  3. Every day that you wake up ON TOP OF THE FLOWERS is a good day!!!!! DJ
  4. Don't ever ask : "I wonder what else can go wrong??!!!", or you'll probably find out. DJ
  5. GREAT to hear that all is going well Mario, went thru a 4-bypass myself back in March of this year, also the LOW blood pressure stuff (and all the weird side effects of that), keep after the recommended exercises and walking, and things get BETTER in less time than you'd think..... Will keep ya in our thoughts and prayers. DJ
  6. So, other than ROCKETFIN, what other lists are "current"?
  7. The older I get, the better I used to be!!!!! Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle it!!!! DJ

  9. one of my favorite sayings (from my Grandfather) : " You gotta be smarter than the wheelbarrow in order to operate it" DJ
  10. PETE Found a use for the green: Painted the gauges in a dashboard with the "chrome" paint first, then used the clear-green, looks like a lot of the dashboards when the dash lights are on!!!! And after talking with RON COON and asking how he came up with the finish on his newest carbs, I painted a carb with the chrome first, then the smoke tint, LOOKIN' GOOD!!!! DJ
  11. Sorry to hear of your loss...... Pets are (a lot of the time) easier to be close with than a lot of people. Just remember all the good times!!!! DJ
  12. MARIO Any updates? You doing okay? Let us know when you can...... DJ
  13. OH WOW!!!! Spent two hours this afternoon going thru all 32 pages, just looking at pictures of all the cuties...... GREAT to see how many people we have here that know "what's most important"!!!!! I used to have a Tee-shirt that read "Little animals are EASY to love, people= not so much!!!!" Lotta truth in that!!!! THANKS to everyone for sharing your pictures & stories. DJ
  14. UPDATE: My MIA showed up today!!!!! The local postal workers have been GREAT folks to deal with, NOT their fault for my misfortunes, but have been VERY helpful in trying to help resolve the problem.?? to them!!!! Wonder if these would now be considered "used parts", cause now they have a hundred thousand miles on them!!!!!!?? DJ
  15. RON has added some more new items, among which are the old Mr. Gasket "foot shaped" gas pedal/dimmer switch combo, AND the old "cool cans" like Moroso {and others) sold.... Give a look!!!! DJ
  16. WOW!!!! This is really one VERY COOL project, PAUL!!!! A close friend back in Longview scored an Aussie built Shelby replica of the Daytona several years back, came roaring around the corner up in front of the house, had said he had a lead on one, and had finally secured it. It now lives in a "man cave" off of McCann Road. Will have to see if I can bootleg a picture or two of your build to Mark. Again, great job and good to hear from you. DJ
  17. my "update": Met our local postmaster during today's visit, absolutely ONE GREAT GUY, H-O-W-E-V-E-R, that STILL did NOT get my package into my possession,,,,,,, After some time (on his part) he did come back to inform me that it showed my package was scanned at a post office in Louisville (100 miles away) and, theoretically, SHOULD show up tomorrow...... Hoping for the "best"....... In defense of USPS: I did have 6 different things that I shipped to other people during the time of this "lost" shipment, that all got to where they were supposed to go. DJ
  18. Very Impressive!!!!! Sure one batch of rubber under there!!!!!?? DJ
  19. Thoughts and Prayers with you for a quick and complete recovery DJ
  20. THANKS BILL, guess this whole thing has sorta "hit a sore spot"...... Started out only wanting to know what experiences others had with some of the "competitors" of the USPS because we (the wife and I) have had legitimate problems with our local p/o, and having moved from a LARGE town in Texas, to a small (4500 pop) town here in Kentucky, options are not the same...... (and YES, I do love it here in Kentucky, just having to "adjust" to small town life again, as I grew us in a small mountain community.} THANKS AGAIN DJ
  21. When I first "got back into the hobby", the wife and I spent hours wondering around in H/Lobby looking thru the different departments for things to "use" on the little cars..... Amazing how you can make realistic hoses out of 'rubber tubing' from the Jewelry dept., brake lines/ fuel lines, etc. from stuff in the floral dept. you took us "back in time" ?
  22. Will look for them, I prefer lacquers because of their drying times (as you pointed out) THANKS JAY
  23. Have used the X19 Smoke extensively since I was made aware that it existed to help detail stuff like grilles, carbs, m/c's, etc., it also "trims" stuff like rims to give them more "depth" and detail. Will look for the green, gotta be something a person can do with that!!! THANKS PETER
  24. Why was this moved? I DID NOT step across any political lines..... Is it now "politically incorrect" to ask a question about an alternative to some government agency? DJ
  25. Thank you STEVE, I learned something new today, did not notice/know the difference in status, now I will know to look for the difference........ Thank you again DJ
