  2. Go man, go!!! I like your back-dating on the SBC.... -RRR
  3. Keep on posting! That's what this is all about. Nice work on the pan, it's a great idea. Model on (in the immortal words of Snake). -RRR
  4. ...looks amazing. Great idea! -RRR
  5. 99.3% I use el cheapo Instant Krazy Glue CA in the small 2 gram tube. I buy them a dozen at a time on FleaBay. In my experience (in a hot humid climate and garage shop) that CA glue seems to lose it's stickability over time once the container is exposed to the elements. Smaller tubes work best for me. I use E6000 (AKA canopy glue, very stringy) for some final assembly where CA glue isn't appropriate (installing "glass" and headlight lenses, etc... I use some white glue (Elmers style) occasionally. I have a bottle of Styrene Tack-It II, but I rarely use it.... -RRR
  6. I'll take your word for it. Thanks for the ID. Actually, KK saw this during his travels somewhere in the heartland this week... -RRR
  7. Nice job. I've always had a soft spot for Bugs. My first car was a rusted out (in New England) hand me down Bug. I was the last user. It disintegrated on me... -RRR
  8. Looks good from here! -RRR
  9. You nailed it! Well done.... -RRR
  10. I've been slowly working on my sedan. I'm using some parts from the AMT Phantom Vickie [sic] kit. I cut off the molded in trans mount on the Revell frame/floorpan and added in the tubular center section from the 'Vickie' kit. Now, working on the exhaust system. The powerplant is from the old Testors Boyd's Smoothster kit. I had some of the parts (intake, valve covers and pan) aftermarket chromed several years ago and this build seems like a good place to use that mill. The transmission is a T5 from the parts box. The block hugger headers are from the Revell '37 Ford..... More later.... -RRR
  11. Ya can't throw an empty beer can without hitting a Tesla around here... -RRR
  12. Teslas waiting to charge up at the turnpike rest stop. Meanwhile I filled my car full of dead dinosaur juice and skeedaddled....BWAHAHAHAHHA!!! -RRR
  13. Definitely needs a driver figure.... -RRR
  14. It takes a keen eye to do what KK is doing here. He also has a lot of experience cutting plastic up and splicing it back together. KK and I talk a lot about this, for us, it's really the fun part of the hobby, having the idea and then envisioning what can be done with available materials. I have to say, KK is more of a surgeon, I'm more of a hacker, with less finesse than he has (I tend to "mix it in the mix" as they say in the music recording industry). Getting good at it comes with practice, like any skill. I recently watched an interview with guitar shredder Steve Vai. He was asked how it got so good. "Practice". The other aspect of this is proportions. It's very important to get proportions right to pull off modifying a body and make it look "right". You'll know it when you get it. Looking forward to seeing more of this delicate surgery? here.... -RRR
  15. See folks, this is what happens when you retire. You have way too much time on your hands!!! -RRR
  16. That went together quickly and it came out great. I'm glad I could help with some body parts. I need to get back on my Kammback funny car... -RRR
  17. I rarely do this, it's just too much work for me?...-RRR
  18. '32 sedan with QC added. Crossmember and spring from the Revell '29 Ford pickup (and other versions of that kit). QC from the parts box...available in several kits. Notice that the gas tank was notched to fit the QC.... RRR
  19. I've been chopping away.... The firewall from the AMT Phamtom Vickie [sic] is being used. I stripped off the 'pre-painted' paint. -------------------------- Chopped the top about this much.... --------------- Using the Speedwagon seats and door panels which needed to be stretched using two sets.... ----------------- A few schmears of putty will bring that all around.... more later.... -RRR
  20. As Snake was fond of saying "Instructions are just someone else's opinion" or words to that effect..... -RRR
  21. Duplicolor DAP-1699 (sands better than DAP-1700) available at your local auto parts store... -RRR
  22. Wow! Now we have the big guns showing up here!!!? This could get really interesting now.... -RRR
