  1. I'm on it. I started working on my build this weekend. It's a concept I have been mulling over for awhile and this seems to be the perfect avenue. I usually go for the more traditional style of build. So, how about the opposite? A more contemporary style. I'm planning on the following: a mild chop, a scale 3" or so, smoothed off running boards, hood sides, one piece hood, filled roof insert, injected SBC with block hugger headers and so on. I'm planning on grafting on the IFS from the AMT Phantom Vickie [sic] kit. I'll post some pix as work progresses... -RRR
  2. I might jump in on this one.... -RRR
  3. I needed a pill bottle this morning, so I grabbed on of my wife's bottles. I scarfed down all of the pills and now I can't see anything...?RRR
  4. If I was that organized, I'd get twice as much done.... -RRR
  5. My oldest daughter learned on a stick (E36 BMW) which I gave her as her first car. When she went to college, I asked her if she ever let any classmates drive her car. "Dad, no one knows how to drive a stick!" "Perfect!" was my reply.... -RRR
  6. Thanks for posting the pix, Ace... -RRR
  7. This is truly a loss. RIP Snake. He seemed like quite a character. I always enjoyed his comments..... -RRR
  8. Well, then, there ya go?... -RRR
  9. Wheels and tires from the original roadster. Nice big radial rear tires, fugly front tires. Satco made a nice tire that fit those wheels, but I believe Satco is long gone.... It's nice to have this kit back, I need a few more flatties...-RRR
  10. I always appreciate your kind words, Craig.... -RRR
  11. Yeah, I was contemplating that. I was goings to try some subtle heat to the drivers side of the seat to see if I could get it to look like the springs were sagging, but you only get one chance to get it right, so I chicken doubt. -RRR
  12. The "wetting solution" I use is saliva....carry on. -RRR
  13. Clear coated. Needs a little touch up around the edge of the roof. Hopefully assembly this weekend amid a couple of honey-do's. Stay tuned... -RRR
  14. It's not worth big money.... -RRR
  15. They're from an AMT show rod. Used in a few different ones. The Outcast, which is a funky C-Cab deal, but I don't think the headers are chrome in that kit. Were those headers used the Coca Cola show rod? I forget what other kits used the same chassis/engine combo... -RRR
  16. I would have preferred a little more red but I'm not complaining..... -RRR
  17. A sneak peek....a custom mix of Testors Extreme Revving Red and Inca Gold. Tangerine? -RRR Clear coat to be added.... -RRR
  18. I seem to be doing more of this lately... -RRR
  19. This one is headed to the paint booth. Lots of chrome! I still need to shorten one set of headers. I'm keeping it very simple, no wiring and such... -RRR
  20. I got some more done on the T this weekend. Working on the frame and suspensions.... The rear suspension consists of a QC with coil springs from the AlaKart kit and trailing arms from the Lil Coffin. The front spring perch part is laid out on the piece of plastic in the upper left corner... -------------------------------- The front end suicide perch has been fabbed up and installed. The axle is from the Slingster kit.... ------------------------- Next up is mounting the motor on the frame. I glued on temporary cross braces to set the engine up while making the mounts.... ----------------------- The frame is pretty much done here.... -------------------------- I made a dashboard from some quarter round and a gauge panel from the Boot Hill Express (?)... --------------------------------- The dash will fit like this into the body, some filling and filing makes it look okay. A few more items to work on but I'm getting close to the paint booth... More later...RRR
  21. Of course, land of craziness. No state vehicle inspections, so, run what ya brung!!! -RRR
