  1. Nice! Very Elegant car... Thanks,
  2. I was surprised to see these cars up close in 2006 in Atlanta at the Petit LeMans, and the paint job was not that great. Maybe a field repaint on the doors? Thanks,
  3. Important milestone in this project: While still far from "sitting on all 4" the suspension geometry is done! I forsee adjustment to be just as challenging, but I'm happy up to this point... Thanks,
  4. Thank you everybody! Dave, that looks GREAT! I considered that scheme for mine at the begining. Mirage, a fellow modeler ran away with those wheels, but let me ask around. I'll let you know if I find anything. Thanks,
  5. Now the challenge gets steeper: Making it symmetrical on the other side, where there is no location reference point whatsoever. Ever heard the term measure twice drill once? Thanks,
  6. Hello, I fear this may sound as a sales pitch, but here I go anyways: I've been working with cell phones for about 15 years. I consider myself hard to impress. But look at the following pictures: These were taken with a new cell phone camera. These pics are straight out of the phone with no processing whatsoever. The unit is a Motorola ZN5 with a 5 Megapixel camera!!! Developed in conjunction with Kodak. It has a macro mode (HURRAY!) and a Xenon flash. Autofocus, low light setting and the whole nine yards! As a cell phone it has all the bells and whistles you'd expect. Bluetooth, WiFi, video capture, web access, etc... I know not everybody like the latest and greatest gadgets, but I'm impressed with this little bugger. Guess what I'll be carrying in my pocket from now on..... Thanks,
  7. Cool concept! How did you do the salt in the tires? I may have to try a salt racer myself just for fun.... Thanks,
  8. I hear 'ya! But you did a great job with it! It certainly looks cool....
  9. If you are willing to wait, I promised a resin caster I would do a master for the Callaway coupe so it can be offered in resin as a body transkit. But that is still far into the future...... Thanks,
  10. Wow, I can't believe it's been 20 years already! October 26, 1988, The Callaway Sledgehammer Corvette set a world speed record for a street legal car of 254.76 MPH. Non other than John Lingenfelter did the driving duty on those runs. The record stood for over 17 years and I believe it was recently broken by a purpose built car, not sure but I think it is related to Saleen. I've always had in the back of my mind the idea of doing a model of this car. Who knows, maybe someday I'll jump in... Here is a video documentary of the test. Thanks,
  11. Steve, Congratulations on taking a leap of faith. You will be OK. An important tip is to test fit everything, not only once but regularly during the process since tolerances are usually tight in this type of multimedia kits. The earlier you adjust the parts, the less surprises you'll get later on. Post pictures as you go! I'm interested.. Thanks, Ismael
  12. Rear suspension in progress... Will it ever be finished? Thanks,
  13. Welcome to the forum and to the hobby! That is a very nice looking '70. Looking forward to see more pictures. Thanks,
  14. I can't ship pony express unless the pony is a REALLY good swimmer
  15. You can specify who pays for the shipping. As a general rule the buyer pays for it. If it is not specified, it is assumed it is the buyer's responsability to pay for shipping.
  16. I just started listing items for sale at emodelcars.com. It is VERY easy to do, not to mention FREE While I've been "ebaying" for over a decade, I rarely sell. So let's see how it goes. Thanks,
  17. No emails here yet. Maybe Bill can spare one for me?
  18. Famous Corvette tuner and aftermarketer Reeves Callaway once said that "while a street car operates between a limited range of parameters, race cars are infinitely adjustable." There you go, there had to be a Corvette connection somewhere The advantage of scratchbuilding part of this suspension is not only strenghtening it, but that it also gives me freedom to adjust it my way. By trimming the brass rod and playing with its location, I can play with the ride height and make sure it is even at both sides. Just like the real thing. It also allows for some compensation in case the tire hubs are not 100% identical. Thanks,
  19. Thanks Jim, Ohh I'm jealous! I've been to the museum several times and it is so awesome and mind blowing there are no words to describe it. I have saved every single picture in their archives If you get a chance to go back soon, I need pics of the rear suspension geometry and the back in general. Since the car is a Panoz G Force chassis, it is a bit different to the more common Dallara. Thanks,
  20. Ohh that is a clear sign of infection with the "overcomplicaditis" disease. As you may have heard, there is no cure, so ENJOY! That is looking really good my friend! Let me know if I can be of any help. Thanks,
  21. Guess what! I LOVE it! DUH! Great job Dave.... Wanna race? You may remember mine, built last year.... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6995 I'm slowly working on a few more versions, but yours make me want to jump to that version now... Thanks,
  22. Thanks Simon, That was my first option but it's discontinued. I have been checking on eBay and I haven't seen it pop up there either. I'm waiting for a response from the online contact. I'll keep searching.... Thanks,
  23. Nice save! That's technically a '75 as there were no convertibles in '76. However, MPC did a'76 convertible. Again, nice job! Thanks,
  24. Hello, Anybody out there taped the Indy 500 race in 2005? As many of you know, I'm doing Danica's car from that race and the broadcast should be good reference material, especially those in car camera shots. There were segments on You Tube but were removed because of copyright infringements. I'll gladly pay for duplication and shipping if needed. Thanks,
  25. Danny, You couldn't have picked a better car for inspiration! The Bugweiser is always a crowd favorite. Here is video of it doing some testing. This is a test only 11.58 seconds pass. Not all out. This car is in the 10's Thanks,
