  1. That's totally wicked! Enough of the Corvette lines to be subtle yet noticeable, but totally different at the same time. Love the layout as well. Exquisite and inspiring! By the way, Welcome to the forum Regards,
  2. Hi, Haven't been on this thread for a while. That is the rear engine XP-819 Corvette prototype by Frank Winchell's team. Larry Shinoda designed the body. Thanks,
  3. Cool! Great job on an unusual car!
  4. Great job Chris! A beautiful car in a gorgeous color! Love it! Thanks,
  5. Hello, This is most likely the last update for a while. No car of mine will have such a gap in the firewall Started the electrical wiring. I also added aluminum sleeves for eventually mounting the radiator support rods. Thanks,
  6. Hawk, Welcome to the forum! But please refrain from posting pictures of real cars Just kidding. Those are AWESOME! Especially the black '67 with the red stinger. The Camaro is also incredible and so are the others. Geat job! Regards,
  7. Hello, The words "AMT" and "precision fit" are not usually used together. The Rumble seat works but it is quite lousy. So I made it fit tighter by extending the "sheet metal" and made it open and close better. I also made some snapping tabs so the seat can be installed after painting and assembly. The best way to show it is with a video: here is a picture but the video is much better. Thanks,
  8. Nice! I always liked that car but I don't recall ever seeing a nicely built one. Great job!
  9. Just got back from a week out of town and getting up to speed on the forum. What color will this car be? Nice going. Those wheels look good. Nice engine. Just a suggestion: If you have some dullcoat, you can use it to tone down the shine on the floor. Thanks!
  10. Larry, I got a reply from him after a long time saying it's out of biz..... Regards,
  11. Hello, The original idea was box stock... HA! Then I thought of doing it curbside with the hood shut. But then.... I thought of doing the side in brass: but since it is quite flat and has many cuts and openings, I went with styrene. Because of time considerations, I'll only do one side to open. Thanks,
  12. Hello, One of our international business partners is also a huge racing fan, especially F1. He is an important figure in his country's auto club. They usually go to a few F1 races a year and he has many good contacts in F1. He has always invited me to go to F1 races but that is quite expensive. Last time we met he said he would get me "something". Well, he just sent me "something": A Genuine Ferrari hat signed by driver Kimi Raikkonen during the canadian GP!!!! He then called me and said "Enjoy! I know you want Schumacher's, and I'm working on that" Is that cool or what? Thanks,
  13. I CAN'T! That's like choosing between your kids. I'm into photography as well, and the 2 hobbies are perfect for each other. So I picked about 10 and randomly picked 1: Thanks,
  14. Na NA NAAAAA NAaa naaaa! I had this project in my hands today. It's going really well and it will be really sweet when finished. In our busy corporate lives, we met for a quick lunch and model talk, but I don't remember what we ate if we did at all Here were these 2 rather serious looking guys in business/professional attire, playing with a toy car in the food court!
  15. Hello, Now, why on earth does this kit has an incomplete shorter floor? Good question.... Who knows... but it was extended. Thanks,
  16. Hello, Box stock. Yeah right.... :D Made the gaps tighter as well. Thanks,
  17. Nice job Lyle! But I'm not into rods. REPLICA STOCK is the farthest I'll go from FACTORY STOCK Thanks,
  18. Precioso! I hope mine comes out half as good as yours.... Thanks,
  19. Thanks Andy, I'll be on the lookout for it. The model does include a bullet damaged windshield, a safe, guns etc. from the gangbuster days. Gang, I wrote a short article on the history of pace cars for the Scalebuilders forum, BUT, it's in spanish. So crack your dictionaries and translators out: Breve historia de los Pace Cars Thanks,
  20. Hello, No, it is not what you think. With all due respect, I still despise '32 fords and that is not going to change anytime soon. I've never done a "classic" car. I am not really into those. But in a recent business trip I found at a hobby shop a Fred Cady decal set to do the 1933 Indy Pace Car and I DO love Indy. The car is a 1933 Chrysler Imperial Roadster. I bought the decals as I recalled seeing a model of that car in my LHS. Sure enough, it was there waiting for me. The model is AMT 1932 Chrysler Imperial Roadster. Talk about been outside of my comfort zone: A classic car and AMT! This is the car I'll try to replicate: This is the closest starting point: There are some minor trim differences but it is a good start. Typical AMT: More flash than a camera store: Parts are heavy molded, but I've seen worse. What did I get myself into? Main body components look decent: And now for the traditional start of the project: "Modeler! glue engine halves together!" This will be a slow project. I have hired Luis Ayala (papin67) and Art Anderson as advisors The original idea was box stock curbside, but I'm not sure that idea will last What do you think? Thanks,
  21. Thanks Bob, I started with these: Here is a link to the whole process: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12098 Thanks,
  22. That looks cool! Nice job on the hash marks as well.
  23. Curt, Nice job! That's very cool. I love those cars. Thanks for sharing. Regards,
  24. Monty, I need to do all that when I make a model of mine I have not tried it, but I think that for the silver looking units, you could do a gloss black base, a very light mist of alclad and clear over it. Yes that was me on the C3 Corvette forum, fighting the brakes on my '70 and getting some counseling Sometimes 1/25 cars behave better than 1:1 Thanks,
  25. No smke. blk pnt lotsa clr wrds R xpnsive
