  3. Wow. Think ive got the clear body kit buried in my stash - could i do this with the clear body ?
  4. Notice how the leaf springs have the correct taper…
  5. CAREFULLY test fit all of the suspension parts - and make sure that the metal parts have a good glue bond - it’s not white metal - it’s “diecast metal” - it’s a tricky kit to build well - trust me …
  6. Nice. If you like the shape if the kit scoop - try filing off the sides and replacing with some .015’ strip sanded to shape …
  7. First some clear cote - alclad’s light sheen - then alclad’s transparent blue : cut with some clear …. Had to sand after the second coat which was sprayed on a little too dry - leaving some graining - mite see it on these pix …

  16. Back in the day - Sports Car Illustrated was known for featuring some great cutaway illustrations - this one - first done for Autocar (british pub) was by Victor Berris - I’ve seen many of his cutaways - but this is a new one to me …. Its the Mercedes 300SL engine …
  17. whilst the Ferrari engine is marinating - always great to find an obscure engine cutaway drawing, right ?? ...
  18. The louvers presented a problem - as rhe rescesses in the casting were hard to clean and finish - in the end just cleaned these up with a file … the process of finishing the surface of the metal required repeated passes to knock out the most visible scratches …
