  1. T - actually I considered your method - but decided that I wanted the rows of turned metal - although these rows are way over-scale - so I just consider it a “scale casualty”. Anyhow - Stay on board - i think you’ll like it when it comes together …
  2. Can you get the sugar free Cracker Jacks ? just kidding …
  3. they don't have Cracker Jack in France, do they ??
  4. If you were American - I would make a joke about Cracker Jack - since you're not: good drawings - cutaway - 3 view studio photography - I think you'll find it helpful let me know ... abs - miami by the way - contrary to what you may have heard - Elvis has, in fact, "left the building" ...
  5. This is helpful - still think the Acme casting is better than the UPC slot body - more investigation needed …
  6. Crazy C - following your postings on Britmodeler - great stuff - thanks for crossing the Atlantic - do you have this - very good feature - mite be helpful …
  7. I had forgotten how good those Protar wheels were - years before 3D printing …
  8. And nice workbench - I / we / feel right at home …
  9. Therefore the bonnett behind the wheel well is about 3/16s short - which is why Ace and I need some renshape …. Now once this change is made I’ll probably lose the scale correct wheelbase - but the plus is that the engine comparent will look better - and the bonnett will look correct - its the best we can do until someone sits down at a computer and draws a correct Daytona for 3D printing [any takers?]
  10. Here’s what went wrong the Bradford HRM Daytona body appears to have mastered based upon drawings published in 1964 in the English Model Cars magazine - these drawings were generally good - but the artist often did not have detailed measurments - so mistakes were made … the wheelbase was correct but the body measurments differ from those done by an architect who measured 2287 - since the body length is too long on the Model Cars drawings - the bonnett got short shifted to come up with the right wheelbase …
  11. Try this instead - buy some renshape and cut a slice that’s about .125 to .130 …
  12. Great idea - wait til your hands are trembling and your eyes are shot …
  13. Most of the missing length will be added between the trailing edge of the bonnett and the wheel opening …. And i mite need to add a little shape to the nose - maybe … peice if cake …
  14. The model gods are never satisfied …. The reason that the hood blister is too short is that the bonnett is about 3 to 4 inches too short - so there is more to fix …
  15. When compared to drawings and the acme casting - the windshield and roof are much different - and the acme casting seems to Have more accurate fender lines - needs some more investigation - maybe the best thing to do is build a GTO chassis / engine to nail down the bonnett location of the hood and the depth of the windshield …
  16. Barn find - sort of - this is a 24th scale series II Ferrari GTO produced as a slot kit in the seventies …. Ebay pricing is very high …. Not sure its worth it - don’t think the lines are accurate …
  17. Why the change? I ‘ve got a theory - I’ve sent an f book message to Mr. Brock to see if he’ll help - shot in the dark …
  18. An architect - jeremy Mauro - posted an excellent 3 view drawing of the Simeone 2287 on his website - with measurements …. The changes that i need To make are drawn in pen …
  19. This is a shot of the opening on the bonnett of 2287 that I took at the Simeone several years ago - when the car was brought for some exercise … again - this car is the most original Daytone Coupe - but it had gone through dozens of changes in its competition life - so I’ve got to make this change too - its a change - not really a correction ..
  20. On the other hand - if you are making the 64 Sebring car - the bonnett cutout on the prototype had a different shape -
