  1. wait - you're gonna name your son - Kurtis - right ???
  2. just in case you were wondering - this is at least as good as the old Entex 72 - and probably a little better ... trust me - I know ... and I very much prefer the cigarette maker livery - which is weird because I am devoutly anti-tobacco ...
  3. Its Austin Healey friday. The number 33 entry can be built from the vintage but most excellent Revell kit - although you will have to make the hard top …. A most important feature - as this car ended its race on its roof … this kit - Revell was quite good at this - has excellent engine compartment detail ….
  4. RC : have a look at Randy’s website - he sells some great 3D printed Ford racing engines - most are 24th scale - but about 2 years ago i convinced - or Randy convinced - the producer - he’s German I think - to make some 25th scale engines - it would still be a tight fit - but an interesting experiment … Oh Randy …
  5. Well - there were 3 Grand Sports entered - so Forum members can take a shot at the other 2 - and anyway - you tackled and clobbered a very tough kit build - so the answer is yes - your number 3 is our first completed build - but please throw some finished shots into the thread - and find another car in the field to do - anything you pick will be easier than that GS - were you eyeing one of the Cobras ?
  6. So this is getting difficult … may have to request a Special Master …
  7. RC: very nice build you WILL like the Gunze Lotus Elan kit - but take the trouble to work out that unusual roof ... as for the Cobras - who doesn't need another Cobra model ?? ten were entered in this race - and only two are spoken for - once you are done with the Lotus - choose to build one of the entries not yet taken / started ... you've got 17 months ... Hurry !
  8. Keystone-models.com an on line seller fr Japan that I've purchased stuff from - has a few older MFH kits that may still be in his stock and one of those is the Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ - Sebring 64 entries were numbers 53 and 55 no asking anyone to break their hobby budget for the sake of this thread ... just sayin ...
  9. Rats - Alot of Cobra builds will focus on cars that competed in their championship season - when you are done with your current project - consider using that left over paint for a curbside build of one of the ‘64 Sebring Cobras …
  10. The Lotus Elite entry is straight forward - i think the kit is still available - a its a real nice curbside - no mods for the Sebring car except different wheels and tires …. Takers?
  11. Gunze’s Elan kit is one of their best - i think it is better than their XKE kit and way better than their GTO kit … will make a nice Sebring Elan - but the intrepid builder will need to make that Kamm-back style roof - ive found one color photo - car looks like it was painted a sort of metalic - minty - green … a worthy build - who’s in ?
  12. The white Iso Grifo Bizzarrini is gonna be a tough one … ProfiL 24 made one but its not in their current catalog … neat looking chevy powered sports car …
  13. that's almost IT - just a few details off - is this one of your builds, or a diecast - and is it 24th or 18th??? I'm looking at the tires and thinking it's a diecast ...
  14. No takers yet for The #14 Cobra Roadster dr by Shlesser and Hill (Phil) ? this is a really nicely presented Roadster …
  15. slotcar sent me an email query just to clarify - I'm encouraging builders to post their pix on this thread and not on a separate thread - this will eventually cause chaos and mass confusion if enough forum members participate kind of like trying to hold a 12 hour sports car race on a converted WWII airfield with concrete runways not not not designed for sports car races ... ... and won't that be fun ...
  16. "Looks like a good excuse to build a Ferrari 250 GTO. Chassis# 3223GT entry #82 in the field. Larry Perkins owner/driver." Randy : have a look at Pete Lyons' site - 82 practiced w/out those weird stripes over the right rear fender - you DO have my permission [encouragement] to build 82 sans stripes ... just sayin ...
  17. 10 ounces without engine trans castings holy cow …
  18. https://sebringrace.com/page4.html william Jordan's site
  19. So both early series GTOs are spoken for - but we’ve got issues sourcing ‘64 GTO bodies right ? let mE think about that - assuming I’d have takers for those entries if the bodies were available - right ?
  20. By the way - who is gonna claim that cute Lotus Elan sitting next to the #82 GTO on the tarmac …. ??? Gunze made a killer kit - and it is still gettable in Ebayland …. Just make sure that you get the version with the roof …
  21. Alrighty then - Mr. Ditton of Colorado has stepped thu the door - and the door has slammed shut behind him …. #82 is yours - odd fender stripes and all - I like the Fujimi body - but the Protar had opening doors - spose you could fashion a couple of brass door skins for the Fujimi - and I think you could source some 3D printed wheels - and Norman’s engine kits hold a place of honor above my workbench …. Opologies - you can probably build 82 without my input ….
  22. How heavy is the chassis ?
