  1. Dont forget to go thru Rev’s (Rev’s / Collier Collection) on line research site - they’re all there - even some color pix …. But let’s follow their “no posting” policy on this thread - I had not picked out one of the important features on my Daytona Coupe - at Sebring in ‘64 - 2287 had not yet sprouted a tail spoiler- the team would add one later in the season - so the Simeone car sports a spoiler … but I’ll remove the spoiler for my build …

  3. The roof - now removed with a razor saw - is shaped to follow the line of the windshield casting - the tabs will locate it when glued back on with CA glue … venom correctly pointed out that this resin can - to a degree - be reshaped with hot then cold water …
  4. So the coupe was prepped for surgery - the curve of the roof line ober the windshield is now too flat - and the entire roofline was shifted to the right about 2 sc inches - so off with the roof …
  5. The body of the HRM Daytona Coupe is thin resin - so sometimes the casting will shift after its pulled from the mold. Coupes - the roofs - are prone to this little problem - if you’ve built a few - you’ve learned that there is no such thing as a “straight from the box” build -
  6. and if you are wondering why or how there are private aircraft visible in the background of the shot of George Reed's Cobra Roadster ... the airfield was still quite active then - and still is now on a limited basis ...
  7. Noel - I checked the thread rules thoroughly - well I'm making them up as we go ... Although Sebring was - originally - the only North American World Championship race - Brits ARE allowed to enter this thread ! Might I recommend the Jo Schlesser / Graham Hill Shelby Roadster ?? Just sayin ...
  8. Rex - the hairpin photo - I think - shows the one Bizzarrini entry about to be T boned ...
  9. Rex : can i play with #12 Bob Bondurant Cobra ? Yes you may ... How's Miami ?? just kidding ...
  10. because metal is ... metal ...
  11. Back to work on the machine finish on the tail …
  12. Actually - there was no 7 and no 8 on the starting grid - so that’s the answer - the GT40s were to be assigned 7/8 ! Now who was going to drive ? Not necessarily the Nurburgring drivers …
  13. Promotor’s nightmare - Ford entered their GT40s - Sebring put the car on the cover of it’s program - and then Ford misses the party - but thats the anwer to the Question of racing number maybe ? 9 and 10 ?
  14. And yes you can - but they are closed til late Sept for hurricane season …
  15. 2 more shots. -these were made and sold when Quarterman produced his MRRN mags - so this is over thirty years old …
  16. The late mike quarterman sold ‘64 GTO resin cast body kits briefly - could not have sold more Than 50 of these - they were cast - I think - by Paul Fisher - the Acme tag under the tail is the giveaway … lines are very accurate - but as mentioned - must be careful when grinding any of this resin …
  17. Ace - I have a fetish for really cluttered work benches - please post a shot of yours before you clean it up …
  18. The 3 litre GTOs with the ‘64 bodies are interesting subjects - but hard to find in scale - there were some slot bodies - hard to get - Ive got a rare resin slush cast body - cast in some “not very good for you” resin - what’s currently available for this signicant Ferrari ? Did MFH do one ? Think so - though not currently produced …
  19. Rich - please post a shot of your GT40 … assuming you did the car w Lemans markings …. Thanks …
  20. Ace - 23 and 32 are yours - IF you post the kits - and The post includes some initial work - per my Cobra Daytona post …
