  1. Text from Mr Murray ... thank you so much for your patience [and 750,000 deposit]! we have just finished your T50 - painted British Racing Green - with saddle interior and red driver’s seat - per your spec. As you know - I personally deliver each T50 - and I will be in Florida next Monday for a delivery in Naples [yes - the Collier family]. So could I make your delivery on Tuesday - perhaps a blast across Alligator Alley ? How does that sound to you ?? sincerely GM oh almost forgot - balance is COD .... cheers ...
  2. Has anyone else been drooling over Gordon Murray’s bonkers space ship - the T50 ?? dont think I can afford one. Wonder if he would sell me just the engine ?? In an era when engines look like ?? ??? - non-descript - things - Cosworth has designed a compact V12 that looks like the illegitimate step-child of the Gurney Weslake V12 and a Hilborn injected Ferrari Indy engine mite just have to make me one ...
  3. This is the car - and this the engine - that swallowed CanAm whole ... I began to go to race at Watkins Glen in the Fall of ‘73. One of my great regrets is not going to a CanAm race - drat. ...
  4. Rain delay at Road America ... fuel neck. - 16th nickel plated tube from the depths of my material stash ...
  5. Working on the fuel filler pipes. In studying the handful of contemporary photos of the car taken during its one Tasman season - I noticed that Team Lotus used the same sort of assembly that was used on the 33. The restored car uses a different shaped assembly - either way the tubes have to clear the steering wheel column and also not interfere with the bodywork - and their is no opening for the fuel cap on either the original or the restored car .. so I’m using .047 nickel rod - heated to ease the shaping - that cleans up easily with a sanding stick - and i ground away Some resin in the body to clear the tubes as they curve out of the chassis ... it’s a tight fit - just have to add the fuel cap neck ...
  6. The jag E lightweight is one of my favorites. It occurs to me that if the convertible is issued - assume it will be - that it would be a good base for a lightweight ...
  7. Oh my god. You’re really old ! heck I wasn’t born til 1955 .... oops ....
  8. Did you reprint the wheels with a different material - or did you change the design ? And are you using Mr Bill’s tires - or what ??? Very nice - btw ...
  9. Ok ok i know the border is closed now. But if the border is still closed in 2022. - don’t ask. ... besides. Attending the last GSL will be urgent travel - right ??
  10. I rather like those disc brakes ! you ARE planning to bring this to the last GSL contest - right ??
  11. Make sure yours doesn’t flip ....
  12. Back to the 32B: the brace that supports the instr panel is opened in the center for the steering column - so it is strengthened with short strips of nickel bar to hold its shape. then some adjustments to the brace and to the opening in the body - then the instr panel face is tacked on with sm amount of epoxy to check its fit .... everything is in its right place [Kid A] so I’m now messing around with the steering wheel the kit casting is pretty good - measuring to 12.5 scale inches - for comparison - the kit st wheel from the Finecast Lotus 33 kit measures to 12 sc inches. Lotus used st wheels measuring to BOTH diameters on it open wheelers - so I’ll stick with the Joker kit casting - but I ground away the thickness of the spikes and I’ll replace the center disc with something aluminum - probably ...
  13. Don’t think Joker actually produced this but I’m not certain has anyone ever actually seen one of these ... ?? ...
  14. In order to answer the question of what kits Joker produced, I had to locate my stash of Happy man’s Bibles - that was not easy ... but I found’em - I’ve got about a dozen of them ... so I’ll post a partial list in the morning - it’s an interesting list .. 2 or three Abarths bunch of Loti : Lotus 49 - early season and late Lotus 49B Lotus 25 and Lotus 33 Ferrari 166P Lotus Elite Honda R273 and R271 GP Lotus 63 at some point The caster who did Joker produced kits as K models so it will be hard to come up with a full list ... looks like they made trans-kits too ...
  15. Well thank you Mr Henderson. Was beginning to think that everyone had lost their cell phones ... In order to answer the question of what kits Joker produced, I had to locate my stash of Happy man’s Bibles - that was not easy ... but I found’em - I’ve got about a dozen of them ... so I’ll post a partial list in the morning - it’s an interesting list ...
  16. Krylon 1 Pico 0 .. .... ..
  17. The shadow knows ... Think P Lyons Is doing a book on Nichols and his shadows ...
  18. Correction brace has a diameter of 16th inch. 1&1/2 in in scale
  19. The 32B has a large brace that also serves as the mount for the instrument dash. It’s different than the frames used on the 25 and the 33 - and it appears to add some strength to the tub. Openings ground into the tub. With plastic sleeves - the tube is 1 inch scale made from detail master aluminum rod. The instr panel will be a sandwich of plastic and maybe alu sheet - not sure ...
  20. Good point about the exhaust tips. Very tough to scratchbuild ... alclad or molotow ???
