  1. You’ll notice on the last eng bay pic that the valve covers are tapered at the front and sport staggered securing bolts - PITA - and although the part has two layers - the Tamiya liquid glue effectively welds the strips together - so I’ll end up with a part that looks like it was caste - the bolts need to be really small - will use .020 or .018 if I can source them …

  3. This is a part that would really be perfect for 3D drawing and printing - note to Andy …. As i am still stuck in the last century - I’m “borrowing” 2 photo-etch scripts from the Profil24 Maserati 450S kit - so what will i do when i get around to building my 450S kit ? Dunno …

  12. The old Western Maserati 250F wh metal kit has a slightly bigger DOHC six - it won’t fit in my A6GCS - but it will be my guide - actually I suspect that this kit engine is a little over-scale …
  13. The engine was a 2 liter DOHC straight 6 cyl with Weber carbs and dual sp plugs - one distributor perched on the forward right hand corner of the crank case and the second distributor attached to the end of the exhaust side cam cover - if there was a prettier sports car engine - ever - please post your competition -
  14. Over the years i have glommed a bunch of auction photos of the engine - these are two - so i know exactly what the engine looks like - i dont have measurements - but i can judge the dimensions roughly - im making an engine that will fit the engine bay - ill end up with something that is pretty close to scale …
  15. Oh wait - i need an engine …. maserati actually made a brochure for the A6GCS - which is funny - considering that they only made about 50 …
  16. Evergreen and a strip of radiator photo-etch - will be clearly visible behind the grill - so worth the effort …
  17. The Strada kit was basic but its creator took the trouble to add some cast-in features that were very accurate - like the oil cooler / radiator - so lets make one -
  18. The rad will need a little putty on the corners - not too much …
  19. Re Renshape - the brown Renshape has medium density - so it is subject to scratches on the surface when you shape the part - not a big deal - just prime - that will reveal the scratches - a little more sanding - and then paint / treat like resin to finish …

  21. Some old stash photo-etch radiator screen - front and back
  22. Maserati sports cars used radiators that had expansion or header tanks - similar to the Alfa open wheelers - the tanks were tapered - the radiators all looked alike - their dimensions varied depending on the engine size …. This one was made with spare parts, Evergreen strip, and a scrap of Renshape for the header tank -
