  1. Thank you Pierre and John - i think the eng bay shots are 2078 - which has also been auctioned in recent years - you’ll notice some differences between 2053 and 2078 - 2053 uses a different distributor and crosses the plug wire feeds … and dresses up the cam cover a little
  2. Was there just one ??
  3. I didn’t realize that this car was that much different than the Cobra - i photographed this car at Amelia pre-COVID - if you would like - ill post some pix - pretty cars - there were what - 5 of these ?
  4. Thats helpful perspective - thanx
  5. Nope - thank you for posting - do you think blender is easier or harder to learn / use than Fusion .. ???
  6. So after spending a few hours w my trusty Optivizer I’ve got something that looks like a 40 DC03 - some bits and peices of Evergreen plastic, some alu tube - the small dia stuff - and I’ll add some RB MOtion .015 bolts - the ones that don’t seem to want to stay on you zirconium encrusted tweezers ….
  7. Model factory hiro’s Webers on its Aston Martin DBR GT kit are quite good - but once again - they are the 45’s - not the 40 DC03 … so ive removed the detail outlined in black on top of the Scale Production carb …. What could go wrong …
  8. Send a picture of this to Jim Keeler - he’s got a Facebook page - he developed the kit with Atlantis - and Doug Whyte’s model car muse site has a vid of Jim at the last GSL discussing the Atlantis kits …
  9. Scale Production makes a pretty good 45 DC03 Weber - no one yet makes the correct 40 DC03 side draft in 24th scale - although a good 3D printed one will be made sooner or later - William Cunningham has shown us the way here …. But ill use the Scale Production Webers with some mods for the engine on 2053 … Ill check the size - but they appear to me to be scale accurate …. The posts are 1/16 Evergreen rod turned down to .054 to fit into these Webers …
  10. And fr the BAT site - this is a side draft 45 DC03 - which is the Weber more frequently used on production sports cars like 50’s Alfas ….
  11. One more shot - this is the 40 DC03 …
  12. The carefully restored 2053 has the correct set up …
  13. So i’ve been obsessing over Webers …. These pix are fr the Orsi Maserati bible …. The A6GCS sported Weber 40 DC03 side drafts ….
  14. The right engine side motor mount attaches to the clutch housing because of the location of the starter …
  15. So ive grown the engine - it’s shorter than the Western wh metal engine and will fit under the bonnet …
  16. So now that i’ve gotten the cam covers mostly done - I’ll circle back to the block and crank case and add all of the …. Stuff …. Tried a couple of Master Club .05 bolts - they’ll look good -but ill paint them before attaching …
  17. You’ll notice on the last eng bay pic that the valve covers are tapered at the front and sport staggered securing bolts - PITA - and although the part has two layers - the Tamiya liquid glue effectively welds the strips together - so I’ll end up with a part that looks like it was caste - the bolts need to be really small - will use .020 or .018 if I can source them …
  18. Looks great - brass folding top a big challenge - what body paint did you finally use - looks like you mixed something to get a very slight sheen …
  19. This is a part that would really be perfect for 3D drawing and printing - note to Andy …. As i am still stuck in the last century - I’m “borrowing” 2 photo-etch scripts from the Profil24 Maserati 450S kit - so what will i do when i get around to building my 450S kit ? Dunno …
  20. Cam cover on 2053 - with a dark - almost fl bl finish - about the script …
