  1. The pipes bolt to the deck on flanges - made fr .015 x .080 strip - glued to the deck - followed by gluing in the left side cyl head bolts - these are RB Motion acorn nuts … on to the right side of the deck …
  2. The pipes are slender - this first one is a bit overscale but seems to look okay within the head -
  3. The cyl head deck has two water pipes - the return / on the right - and the intake - from the pump which is mounted behind the generator on the left hand side of the block … to the left hand side of the deck - wrestling with how to make the pipes - brass might be best - but I’m trying to carve them out ot Evergreen strip first …
  4. Matt - find a way to get to Florida next year in March for the concourses and a side trip to Rev’s and Brumos …. Tour guides available - for, of course, a small charge .. Rev’s is displaying their Delage this month with bonnet off - but i won’t post the eng shots unless you jump the shark … there is plenty to keep you busy in the driver’s compartment …
  5. The through bolts that attach the head to the block ring the deck of the cyl head - and appear to use some sort of acorn nut fastener - the engine used twin plugs - so I’ve marked guide lines for the center and approximate plug hole locations - 12 plug holes and 14 holes for the head bolts - this took a while -
  6. The cyl head still needs alot of work - rob Bentley’s smallest bolts have short stems - so it takes some practice to use them - without losing them - i’m trying different schemes - with some success …
  7. We interrupt this thread to bring you a Scarab - for no particular reason -
  8. From the Walter Baumer collection - with his permission …. You can tell that the wheels have been painted white - even in the bl wh photo …. Thank you Dave B - and thanks to Mr Baumer …
  9. Dave fr way down under has had me thinking for months …
  10. Note to Bainford per above Mr. Baeumer - fr :: www.InternationalMaseratiResearch.com has come thru for me - you are most certainly correct about your declaration on the finish of the wheels for my Sebring Maserati ... well done ...
  11. The rack was made fr Evergreen L shaped strip and a plastic tube about .050 in dia - thats a .025 length of plastic rod running thru - that will be the tie rod … the flex section on either end is made from mini rubber O rings …
  12. First i had to make the vertical frame members that carried the rack …. The Tamiya steering rod is in place to mark the point of attachment for the rack ..
  13. When Gooding posts photos for their auctions - they don’t mess around - this is a steering rack assembly on a Lotus 11 - basically the same as the steering assembly on the Lotus 16 - Chapman was an early adoptor of rack n pinion steering -
  14. The steering link / rod fr the Tamiya kit - gonna use the ends to make posable steering …
  15. Thanks Bainford - doing some more work on the A6GCS - you mentioned on the thread that the Sebring entry sported white painted wheels - is that fr the book on the marque ? Curious …
  16. You are welcome - and you saved the best for last -
  17. Ive glued an Evergreen “L” strip - filed back on one side - into the opening - 2 lines ran within the channel on 362 for oil - i think - because the oil tank on the 16s was mounted behind the fuel tank - most 16’s did not have this channel - the lines ran ourside of the body work - this may have been a mod done by Halford - the privateer who campaigned this car in ‘59 … anyway - its a neat feature …
  18. Whilst a poke around looking for a spare Climax engine - I’ve opened a channel in the left side of the base plate - using a Tamiya scribing blade and a razor saw …
  19. This engine will just fit - as long I’m careful with the location of the engine mounts … and I’ll use different Webers- these are too big -
  20. I made this engine for an old project years ago - gotta find the castings … but this is what a Climax four looks like …
