  3. The trunk is secured w these spring hooks … i made them with the wound wire that i planned on using in the eng compartment - this wire was too large for the shielded oil and water temp lines - but was about right for these springs … can’t decide whether to add the rubber shielding …

  6. MJ - I think teams were thinking about aero then - but no could measure the effects - maybe hi speed stability improvement limited because the nose punched such a big hole through the air ?? Lemans entrants experimented with vertical fins and tail length in early fifties - right ?
  7. Pl tell Mad that i’ll get the 1/8 Sc Cosworth, too …. I bought them in 24 sc - assume you’ve seen them - would be the ultimate upgrade …
  8. And by the way - the postings on the new 72 kit by Pocher are not very impressive - i think your 45 year old kit is nearly as good …
  9. Interesting - and brave - i built mine 40 years ago - its in need of restoration - major downfall is the profile of the rear tires - much too square - there are aftermarket resin replacements - by Icon ?? - but very - too - expensive - but do replace the markings / decals - there are several choices - also try to bolt the main sun-assemblies together - due to size and weight of the finished model …

  16. To replace the first script i used a metal self adjesing sticker from a set of markings that i bought last year on ebay - to add the scripts to the eng cam covers …
  17. I’m famous for not following my own advise - the Ferrari script decal that i so carefully placed on the trunk is gone - entombed on a peice of masking tape that was used to mask the trunk to spray some Thinned Molotow on to the trim surrounding the plate recess !! First - i should have sprayed on the trim before i placed the script - two - i waxed the trunk surface before applying the decal - so that sucker came right up when i laid on the tape …. I hate when that happens - and for good measure I’ve got some excess chrome paint that marred the trunk surface above the trim - - -
  18. Great stuff - your saddles are a neat trick - never saw that before - need to get out a little more often …
  19. So with the bend i’ve got the steering wheel in the right place - on the the next problem - lurking somewhere …
  20. Steering column presents a problem- it has to thread through the bulkhead to reach the steering box - and i’ve drilled the opening in the bulkhead in the wrong place - about one scale inch too far to the center - so now ive got to make a bend in the column - but the fix is not visible behind the dash - and this is a secret - right ??
  21. Dash in - epoxy plus some hidden braces installed w CA glue … now for the steering wheel …
