  1. Gracias Rattle - if only i had fashioned some working bonnett clips …. Managed to connect the oil lines to the radiator …. Had to shorten the radiator to fit within the subframe - not spec but it will do …
  2. Some final corrections / mods to the radiator and air duct - then attached - just enough room around the posts to hinge the bonnett - but i got to figure out how to install the oil radiator …
  3. The wipers on 2287 were set at 10 o’clock on the windshield…. These are the kit wipers - air-brushed w Molotow - w added washer fluid lines …
  4. Carroll was down to the shop this morning - as the fuel tank and lower brace was installed - he was not happy - Carroll: 2287 was supposed to be on the trailor this morning headed to Sebring - us: its not ready Carroll - maybe tommorrow morning, Carroll - Carroll: im locking the shop on my way out- no one leaves til 2287 is finished …
  5. Heat ? The Shelby crew cut a hole in the roof four hours after the start of the Sebring race - if you can peer at the underside of the roof of 2287 at the Simeone, you will see the welding scars fr the repair …
  6. The steering rod is U jointed - the kit part is correct but needs an extension with my other mods - and it just sneaks through the pipes … the measurements were made to help locate the sub-frame when it was glued to the fr of the chassis …
  7. The left side exhaust header brace was cut apart to fit the exhausts into the openings in the cyl head - then repaired w some Evergreen strip - and some Tamiya weathering was applied …
  8. Saved most of the drama for the end- the bonnett swivels on a subframe that also supports the radiators - the kit part is resin - won’t be strong enough - ive replaced it w a brass part - but i had to modify the frame , the air duct, and the radiator for a - not good - but a reasonable fit …
  9. I surrender- twas nothing more than poor long term memory - now was that the Donahue Trans Am ? Did i remember that ??
  10. Well - at least i complimented the art work - - - and that Camaro - was that a Donahue Trans Am ??
  11. Cleaning up the electric wires on the right side of the engine bay and attaching the splash panels to the bonnett - these parts are super thin - well done, Harold … extensions to the exhaust pipes - needed because the chassis was lengthened …. Maybe some exhaust stains and heat stains to add ??
  12. Hard to see - will have to post better picture of said brake lines ….
  13. Insulation on brake lines - just in case you were lurking …
  14. So here’s mine - i’m within a scale inch - i think - of the eng location on 2287 - it seems too far forward but it is actually pretty close ….
  15. This ghosted view shows the forward location of the engine - notice that the trans / clutch housing is at least 6 inches ahead of the bulkhead/ bonnett line … hard to tell exactly because of the side vent - but this engine is pretty far forward …
  16. So ive been pondering the engine placement on 2287 …. Passed by this restorer’s van Sunday AM on my way into - rainy - Amelia concourse …. Pretty cool …
  17. Here’s the decal sheet, Allan …. The artwork was done by some local IPMS members - they took the trouble to get the colors just right - maybe Scalemaster will re-consider … a super-build could be done with the mods that you used and Clay Model’s great resin engine and trans kit … just sayin’ …
  18. The bond held - i think the added bolts were essential - glueing the chassis to the base required re-locating the pin location holes - but i managed to get everything together with the wheels in the right place -
  19. CA glued one side - let the glue set - then the other side … and waited and hoped ….
  20. Time to glue the body down onto the base - which I was worried about because of the resin body flex - which is pronounced … so I’ve added some strip to the base and drilled holes for bolts that i hope will hold the assembly in place …
  21. Another revu of the contemporary pix shows me that the Goodyear markings on the tires are too large - the Goodyear tire markings on the Model Factory Hiro sheets are the correct size - and I’ve got an extra sheet from a Porsche 909/3 kit [long story] - so i scraped off the decals that i applied last month and put on the MFH markings …
