  1. Thanks, but I'm just an old fart who plays with plastic cars and tools. Most of the tricks are just good old fashioned hot rodding! My goal on every model I build is to use a new technique. This one made me do BMF much better as it plays such a major part in the look. I also used DamnCrankys interior tips for the wild hides! I will say again that kit is just plain fun to build!!
  2. Thanks Jon....you hit it exactly. As I shoot lacquers I love HOK and their intercoat clear....lays real thin. Here is a 69 Camaro tu tone...no raised line, I shoot a lot of tu tones and I will say that it is the little things that make a difference.
  3. Thanks for the comments guys.....I'm just building it...Jairus drew it!!! :)
  4. Simple thought ...you will need most of the stuff the guys have mentioned. I think the most important thing for you to get is the KIT!!! You might want to think of a snap kit if you need to build basic assembly skills or a nicer (and$$$) japanese curbside. Now think what you want to build and choose your kit. After this its time to think of glue and color....good luck
  5. Cover your facebook links and check for problems thru there....
  6. Very nice!! I just bought this kit for the 348 tri power, but after opening the box and with another 50% off coupon from Michaels I need 1 more now Its a 19.95 kit for 10.00!!
  7. The trick is to minimize a raised line. As prev posted shoot a light coat of clear after taping. This will seal the edge from bleeding under the tape. Then when you shoot your second color shoot from behind the tape side(not into the tape)...this will allow a thinner line when tape is removed...
  8. Small , Black , AND ugly.....with 5 tires But the motor is killer!! Read your mail fly boy
  9. What your doing is a manifold. I still wouldn't mix pressures with multiple regulators. Set the Manifold at 60 psi and use the Grex mini at the brush to dial down. I use two compressors..one is fixed at 22 psi after traps, the other will go past 60 for auto air colors This works well for me from 5psi to 55psi
  10. It did, I was quite surprised how good. By using the clear acetate the windows are stiff, looks great from afar, and allows you to see inside....the front is clear and allows the details to be seen.. .When I applied the film I did squeegie the excess water out. I tried on a scrap to double up the tint...that did not work as the filw would not stick to the first layer.
  11. I used the kitchen table today to tint windows.....lots cleaner
  12. Now I know that Cranky is in your head!!!!! gotta watch this one....will it have a matching trailer??
  13. I rarely remove the glaze, unless it is unusually thick, as I am repainting with a lacquer so it acts as primer
  14. I would also have one regulator...and Grex makes an excellent regulator that goes right before the brush for final control.... http://www.grexusa.com/grexairbrush/products.php5?id=G-MAC
  15. Tinting and foil on the body are done....onto the front clip!!!!
  16. Looking Good...... Sorry about the fuzz in the first pic....it does show the density best
  17. Put it over clear acetate, shrunk it with a hair dryer on low, glued the acetate in place.....Worked great!!! Will post pix soon in my JWAC build Its even and see thru!!!
  18. Din get Me Big Guy, That bumper bothered me..... I must admit that he is a good modeler also.....
  19. I wondered if it had a carrier.....let me look closer..Thanks guys!! WEEEEELLLL GOLLLEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! that now gives me a sticky side.......this will work!!
  20. I want to tint some windows like 1:1 cars...dark in the rear and lighter up front. I have the film and its fighting me..Do I use it and glue it in, put it over clear acetate ,or?????? Issue I have had is after cutting and glueing..its got bubbles.....anyone do this with success?? EDIT!!!!! scroll down to see!!!
  21. Jon go to your local pharmacy...not the chain. Tell them what you need and why. Many times they will sell them to you with ID. I bought them for my old business along with the syringes as I used them in my legit business!!
  22. For that look you can use any of Testors interior "fabric" spray bombs I used the black for the floors, front seatback , and package shelf......
