  1. And I'll bet we see a new, improved '68 somewhere down the line too! That one has always stymied me, it's an easy conversion to at least 6 different models with minor alterations. Thank you Revell for finally giving us a '67 that should be a quantum leap from the ones that came before!
  2. I'm surprised no one has tooled up a new '67 Camaro, since it's a simple conversion to a '68, just change the grille, side markers (Decals for those) and tail lights, remove the vent windows and you've got a '68 Camaro. Put out a 327/350 SS (Revell's already got an excellent 327 in the '63/'64 Impala kits, no need to tool up another one, jump on it boys!), and with a few minor changes (Intake, valve covers, decals), you can make the 327/350 into a 302 and do a Z/28 version. A pair of different hoods for stock and SS versions, RS grille, heck, you could easily get 6 versions from one main tool, and that doesn't even cover the Trans-Am and Drag versions you could release. Of course, a street machine version of both could be done with ease, putting this tool in the 10+ release category easily, sounds like a good investment to me! And of course, it's a first generation Camaro, it will sell! This one's a personal favorite for me, but judging from what they go for on E-Bay, someone must want them. A new tool '71-74 Javelin, by changing the roof panel (There were indentations on the '71 and '72 that looked like T-Tops, not the '73 and '74 though),the grille and tail lights, you can get 4 kits right off the bat from one tool. Since all AMC V-8's were the same physical size, you only need one block, and a few different intakes could represent just about any engine AMC put in them, Throw in the Tran-Am race versions, and you've got another two or three releases, and that doesn't even count the street machine versions that could be put out.
  3. Nice color!
  4. I've gotta agree, that is awesome! How'd you make the wiring harness?
  5. James, I'm working on an Aoshima Toyota Aristo. Being that I don't build Japanese kits very often, I didn't know that Aoshima is similar to Revell in the fact that both use a plastic that is overly sensitive to hot solvents. I used my normal Dupli-Color Primer/Sealer on it, and painted it the first time with some Dupli-Color Bahama Blue. Lots of issues popped up, mold lines, a strange swirl in the driver's side front door, and a line in the roof and hood, along with a bit of crazing. So I stripped it, prepped it again, and painted it the second time with some Testors Sublime Green...have I mentioned yet that I cannot use Testors rattle cans at all? There's a reason I use nail polish. Dupli-Color and House of Kolors paints, because to me, Testors rattle cans are the Devil's handiwork! I ended up with the worst orange peel I've had in well over two decades of painting cars, so it got stripped again. Now it's waiting for the fresh primer to dry, so I can lay down some Tamiya Racing Blue on it, it'll be fine this time...or it'll be melted down with a blowtorch!
  6. Gary, don't take this the wrong way brother...that thing is HIDEOUS!!! You nailed the rusted out beater look perfectly, I grew up in the Chicago area, and saw lots of these cars in the same condition! How in the world did you "crack" the passenger seat? That is a neat little touch!
  7. Thanks James, but like everyone else, I screw 'em up too! I'm on my third paint job of my recent build...I wish all my paint came out as well as the two I posted!
  8. Beautiful work, but I'm biased, i built one like this back around 2001! I like your color scheme better than mine, I wish I had though of a contrasting color for the wing area myself! I got around that little issue by mounting my wing to the trunk. Not entirely feasible in the real world, but I wanted a lower wing like Uelder, it just looks wrong when it's way up in the air on this body style. Besides guys, it's a model, not a real car, ease up a bit! What are we, Military modelers now?
  9. Marcos, you are not allowed to use any Urethane clears, you're already better than all of us! I use Nason myself, but not on everything. It lays down smooth as glass, which means any polishing is minimal at best. Here's a few examples of Nason on mine. And I've got to disagree with Craig, none of them look like they were "Dipped in plastic", but I also only use one to two coats, the ones that look dipped may have been laid down much heavier.
  10. I take it you're gonna lay it out and give it a killer paint job?
  11. It's real good sauce Gary, my neighbor makes it in his shed!
  12. Gary, he's moved to Wilmington, my old stomping grounds...gotcha brother! Ryan, change your city!
  13. I'm useless Jarrod, I can barely figure out inches, millimeters make my head spin!
  14. Sean, it's absolutely gorgeous! This is my all-time favorite muscle car, and you did it up perfectly! BTW, I'm working on a corrected chassis, interior and engine for this same kit...hopefully I'll get a resin caster to bite and be able to cast them so anyone who wants a better chassis, interior and engine can get one!
  15. Chuck, you are wise beyond your years young man...have a cookie!
  16. Julian, it's a real dog of a kit compared to the Lindberg Charger, don't buy it unless you really have to have it, stick with the Lindberg kit!
  17. Thanks guys, I've got a short-bed version to build too, but it'll get built the way I'd want one! And Jim, it's shiny, but not too shiny, since it's supposed to be a daily driver. I didn't use the polishing kit or clear coats on this one. It's straight from the rattle-can Dupli-Color paint followed by a quick rub down with some Mequairs #7 Show Car Glaze!
  18. Thanks guys, it made Pam happy, so I'm happy!
  19. This one's a replica of my wife Pam's old F-150 XL I started with the AMT F-150 XLT, removed all the lower and wheel well trim, opened up the grille and made a radiator face to go behind it, made a tool box for the bed, a diamond-plate step bumper with ball hitch, and a coffee mug, because Pam's gotta have her coffee! I snagged some tires from the parts box that were a better match for her truck's tires, and added the side mirrors from Monogram's F-250. Paint is Dupli-Color Ford Toreador Red, their Medium Gray Fabric and Interior paint inside, and their Black Primer in the bed, with Tamiya's Aluminum used on the bumpers. 20. A Mott The Hoople cover from a early '90's "supergroup" that never took off... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_D12tJ8tfSs
  21. This one's from way out in left field, but I'm sure you've all heard this song at some point in your lives....The Demon does Jiminy Cricket...and Gene says he never did drugs... http://youtu.be/xYZ0rkVaPyY
  22. Another killer Motley Crue cover, the song starts after the bad word in the intro... http://youtu.be/kLEoVDpQ3mQ?t=10s Motley Crue also covered the Sex Pistol's "Anarchy In The UK", but you can't get the naughty words out of it...you'll have to look that one up on your own....it's worth it! And I can't figure out why I can only post a link and not the player...what am I doing wrong here?
  23. One of my all-time favorite covers, they took that song from the Beatles! Motley Crue did the same thing with Helter Skelter... http://youtu.be/nBMMCClIgTc
  24. Yes it will, but if you're gonna use Micro Sol (Or any setting solution), you definitely need to add some Testors Decal Bonder before you apply the decals! Here's a couple with Keith's decals on 'em, and lots of Micro Sol was used on the decals with no problems. The Ford script is from Keith, right over the molded-in script... And I had Keith make the stripes, Chevy emblem and license plate for this one. Tons of Micro Sol was used to get the stripes to wrap around that spoiler and the trunk!
  25. You're gonna have to show me how you do that Ryan, since you're nearby. I can do shiny, but I haven't tried making anything look weathered or rusty yet...
