Warehouse 9 is mainly RC, they were in the small shopping center next to Dick's Sporting Goods, if they're still open that is. Wilmington is pretty much a wasteland for shops, the best one around is in Fayetteville (Hayes Hobby House), and a shop in Jacksonville across from the mall. Hayes will do mail order, Check out their website (Search for it on Google), call 'em and tell Mike what you want and he'll send it your way! There is a Hobby Lobby in town, across Oleander Drive from the Mall, but that's not much help for detailing stuff. There is a club in town, but they're mainly Military stuff...nice guys though! Port City Modelers is their name I believe.

Keith can be a bit slow to respond, but once you get order in to him, it takes less than two weeks to get the decals. I will tell you this, get some Testors Decal Bonder and spray a coat on them before use just to be safe! Trim as close as you can to the decal, and apply as you would a normal kit decal!
-
Kevin, that is simply evil looking! Great job on the hood too, it looks like a resin piece! Now you've got me wanting a suede paint job really, really bad!
-
Kevin, where were you when I needed the PE set for the Fairlane? That's OK, I've got one with some killer decals on it, and 6 more to build, so thanks for the help on the next one I build!
-
Great start and a very ambitious project! I wish I knew where to find a 1/16th IROC myself, I've got the 1/16th '79 Trans-Am, and it's a great looking kit!
-
You won't find any Photoetch for the Fairlane or Roadrunner, I know that from experience. Keith Marks makes some great decal sets for 'em both though, check him out! Here's my one and only Gasser I have pics of, the Model King release of the old Revell Henry J. Box stock except for the decals and tire lettering, I wish I had added some detail to the engine and swapped out the headers for something a bit nicer, but it came out cool anyway!
-
Man, that body is pretty! Great paint and foil work, interior and engine look top-notch too! Now take your time on the chassis and you should have a beautiful '66 Impala when you're done!

Revell Integra Type R (Kit Restoration)
Custom Mike replied to FullTimeHobbiest's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Nice work so far! I've still got a sealed copy of this kit, after building one I had to grab another one! What color is the body going to be? -
Sounds like a great plan Paul, I'm on board for this one!
-
Absolutely beautiful John, your love of both the 1:1 and it's 1/25th replica shows! Oh, and I'm stealing those side marker lights on my next one of these kits!
-
So you're the reason I can't find this kit! I had a Blue '80 RS with a 5.0 in it, and found one kit (A buddy from Germany sent it to me) and had to get the missing parts from a '79 Mustang kit. This kit is not the easiest to find, how'd you get so many of it?
-
John, I've been using that same Trumpeter scriber for a few years now, and I have to agree, it is the best tool I've ever bought! I used it on my Barracuda to deepen the panel lines, window trim, and add the missing trim under the tail light housing. It makes fixing trim issues a breeze, doesn't it? And the best part is, it won't bend under pressure like the old Micro-Mark scriber, I ruined a bunch of those babies over the last ten years!

Thanks Gene, it was build for a buddy of mine, he came up with the idea and I made it happen for him. I did the body work way back in 2007, sent it to him, then begged him to send it back so I could build it in 2012! Now about the side windows....I wish they had an actual latch and opened, but it's just a straight pin cut off and a hole drilled in the window, I'm not that good! I know someone here has done an actual functioning latch on one of these kits, but I can't remember who it was,
-
Jeremy, you have my undivided attention, this is one of my favorite cars! I know you're going to do your normal stellar job on it, I'll just sit here and drool over it if you don't mind!
-
Gene, you can build a Pro-Street version of this kit easily, just get another one of these and an AMT '70 Super Bee Pro Street kit for the chassis and rear end!
-
You nailed it Joshua, the 2 in 1 and 3 in 1 kits are a great way to build a nice stock of extra parts that will come in handy later!
-
Now I've got to find somewhere around here to pick on up! My wife got a subscription for me because some of my builds were photographed at a contest, maybe they're in there!

Revell Customer Service
Custom Mike replied to Rick Schmidt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm fine with Revell requiring proof of purchase, we all know someone that has abused the heck out of Revell's parts replacement policy. We're lucky they didn't shut the whole thing down with all the abuse of the replacement parts system over the years! -
Jason, a couple of questions about this booth. How big is the actual spraying area, and have you used it yet? Because if it works well and is big enough for normal 1/24th & 1/25th bodies, I may pick one up!

It's gorgeous James, and it even comes with a clear sheet with the dash and console gauges, so you can really detail it right. The only flaw is the lack of 302 scripts, otherwise, it's perfect! I got mine years ago when I picked up the old Monogram version off of E-Bay, and had Keith Marks make up a set of 302 decals for me. One day I'll actually build it! I sent the fine folks at Model Car Garage an e-mail about the lack of 302 scripts on the fret, let me know if they're included with yours when you get it!
-
Henry, the MCG set is gorgeous, but it's got one big flaw. If you want to build this (Or the 1/25th scale, since it's the same PE set, just smaller) as a Z/28, you're gonna have a problem. The PE set does not have the 302 scripts for the sides of the cowl on the hood. The Z/28 was only available with the 302, so you'll have to have some decals made if you want a Z/28.
-
Absolutely gorgeous Yurily, this one makes mine look bad!
-
Wade, the typical spark plug wiring for models is 30 gauge, you can pick up a spool of it from Radio Shack, they call it "Wrapping Wire", and they may have to order it for you, it all depends on the store. Or, you can order it from their website and get it delivered right to your door!
-
John, the front end looks great, and the glass is perfect! Hurry up and finish this baby! You've got to show me some more of that tool, I need something like that...BAD!!!
