  1. Beautiful work, and a very fertile imagination buddy, you are the King of Kitbashers my friend, take a bow!
  2. Tyrone, this is hands-down the best looking AMT '68 I've ever seen, great work! And painting the spokesa a darker color really was the best idea you could have had, they look much better now!
  3. The engine has it's final coats of Ford Engine Blue, the hood has been cleaned up, and it's waiting for a fresh coat of primer. Hopefully I'll have some more progress tomorrow night, we'll see!
  4. I also got the teardrop hood ready for primer by opening up the holes so I could add some mesh, and getting rid of the horribly bad hood pins AMT added to the front corners, Unfortunately, the primer came out "dry", leaving a horrible texture on the hood, so it's taking a DOT-3 bath as I type. I have a spare in case this one doesn't strip, so it's all good!
  5. Thanks guys, and thanks to everyone who followed along, I'll get some pics up in the Under Glass section tomorrow!
  6. The engine has received it's first coat of Ford Blue, but it's gonna get another coat, it just didn't cover well enough. I tried painting the valve covers with some Metalizer Aluminum Plate, and used some Detail Master Krome Foil on the ribs, hoping to be able to buff out the ribs and reveal the foil, but it didn't work well at all, so a second set has been de-chromed and I'll try it another way. The body also lost the Galaxie 500 scripts on the quarter panels, they were just too light to be seen under a few coats of paint, so they had to go. But the body is back in primer, so maybe I can get the paint right the second time around, we'll see!
  7. Well guys, the SuperDuster is finished finally, I'll post some pics in the Under Glass section tomorrow, but here's a pair to hold you over until then! The more I see the Embossing Powder as hood insulation, the more I like it! And what it started as...the bare plastic you see will be turned into the SuperDuster II, a second version done with my little tweaks to the first design. Leith over on Scale Avenue is getting this one, and this time, he's building it!
  8. OK, time for some updates! I finally got the engine all trimmed up and ready for paint, and de-chromed the valve covers, they'll get painted with some Metalizer Aluminum Plate. So the engine is now ready for some Ford Blue, here's the pics to prove it! The red lines need to go away, the black lines tell me when to stop.... The offending excess plastic has been removed, and the distributor and heads were thrown on to see how it all looks... The oil pan was de-chromed and glued on, and the engine re-primed to see how it's looking... Not too bad, now I can paint this baby finally. Oh, and the fuel pump will be removed, I'll add an electric fuel pump somewhere, but that tiny thing has got to go! The last step was enlarging the hole for the Fatkidd distributor, and making the notch in the front cover a bit bigger.
  9. This could get interesting, bring on the eye candy!
  10. Beautiful work as usual! The color choices and overall quality of the build are perfect!
  11. I believe I've seen that Impala before James. FINISH IT!!! And the mini-truck looks like it's got a great start too, it should be a killer one! I'm calling BS, everyone knows Testors Silver never dries! I've got one, and it's even been posted here, at least until I stalled out on the tail lights. I started it back in June 2009 on Scale Avenue, then decided in 2011 to bring it over here too. The tail lights weren't the only thing that stopped me, I never was satisfied with the side windows and the tint job I did on them, and some custom script decals were also never made for it, heck, I even forgot who was gonna make 'em for me! I think I've got a handle on what to do with the tail lights now, and a good friend has said he can make me the side windows with a tint to match the rear widow, now all I need to do is remember who was gonna make the script decals for me....
  12. I've got a cold adult beverage here, and a comfy chair, bring on the flames!
  13. This should be a good one Mike, got any pics of the Overhaulin' car?
  14. Awesome dispaly base Ira! Now get back to the body, i wanna see it in color, I'm betting it's gonna look even better!!!!
  15. Joe, that paint and BMF looks great, and that's a nice start on the engine too! You've got a great start, take your time and treat each assembly with lots of patience, and you'll end up with a great model!
  16. That's something that has bugged me for a while now Casey, your solution looks like a great option! I'll be waiting to see it in primer!
  17. I've gotta agree with Dean, you're now on the list! Mark, that is just killer work, how long did it take you to come up with that gem?
  18. That's one killer Fiero Christian, incredible work! I'd say you met your obligation to make it beautiful, Pontiac should have made it look like that in the first place!
  19. Phil, I've gotta go with what Todd says, it's cool for Off-Road, but a bagged, layed-out truck would look funny with it back there.
  20. That's it, i'm giving up on details...dryer lint? Alyn, you are absolutely insane, that stuff is highly flammable, you'll never be able to start this baby and drive it safely!
  21. Beautiful work Casey...this is gonna be a real beauty when you wrap it up!
  22. Mark, I just went through all 19 pages, and I knew it was gonna be a killer build, but I did not expect what you've done so far....absolutely spectacular work, I'm in awe! I'm waiting patiently for the next round of updates!
  23. Now that's a huge B-pillar! This should look cool when it's done, bring it on!
  24. And a few quick mock-up shots for fun, the wing still needs to be glued down, but not until the body gets a good waxing!
  25. She's up on all fours, the side mirrors are pinned in place, and I did a quick mock-up with the wing and hood on her, and she looks good! All that's left now is getting the air cleaner right, foiling the door handles, adding the lock cylinders, and gluing the wing on! I finally gave up on the air cleaner, since I beleive it's too thin to remove any more safely, and just ground down the front carb a bit, which finally got the air cleaner to sit at the right height, then added the valve cover T-bolts Sam sent with. So all I have to do now is snag a windshield washer bottle from one in the stash and get it in place, and the under-hood area will be completed! A dab of Metalizer Brass and it's all good! And the valve cover T-bolts in place! The engine is now officially completed!
