  1. I have a very tall one I got at CVS years ago. I keep my toothpicks in it, drilled a 1/4" hole in the lid and use it like a shaker.
  2. I got one at Dollar Tree for $1.25, I'll get a lot of mileage out of it.
  3. I started this a while ago, chipping away at it lately. Chassis and interior are done. Headers and master are VCG Resins, tires and wheels from Jay's Resin Wheels and are quite nice. Paint is Tamiya Dull Red and German Gray. Rear shocks are modified VCG Resin parts.
  4. This is the TS65 clear pearl over the T44 blue. Good enough, no polishing required. I did the hood, looks good too. The cab has a sag, not a big deal with some luck. I'd like to shoot black in the inner fenders, etc.
  5. Since it needs more paint anyway, bite the bullet. I would sand down the area to avoid chipped paint. Mask the area off if you want to. I try to get my scribing done up front, lessons learned for sure. I use either the back of a #11 blade or a razor saw to open the lines.
  6. I decided to add a clear pearl over the blue. So far have the rear fenders done. Cab and hood are painted blue so far.
  7. Out with the 59 Ford today. 1st time this year. I need a battery, almost got stuck when I was out. 20240317_122939.mp4
  8. More progress. Paint is Tamiya Bright Blue. Bed is Tamiya German Gray. Dash is good enough. Tow plate is assembled. Boom and winch is done. Chassis is close to complete. Cab and hood are in final primer.
  9. Can you say sabotage? I knew you could. That is my take, either to debase yet another iconic US business or force-feed us yet another thinly veiled agenda. There is just too many recent incidents, which may be elevated out of scale by the media. Granted Boeing does make quite a few planes used all over the world. But nothing on Airbus that also makes lots of planes. I looked at Boeing stock, since the 1st of the year it had dropped from $250 to $180 a share. That is a easy 25% drop. Follow the money.
  10. I had the Marx station, forget where it went. There is a Sears one I see on eBay. I'm sort of low on room to save anything big right now, I'd like to get another one.
  11. I looked at one a few weeks ago at a kit-sellers place of business. Even for free, I would not touch one. It may make a good diorama addition at best. Even the iconic AMT kit blows it away.
  12. I never leave mine running too long or overnight. Usually a few hours is all I need to so anything. I set my microwave timer when I have body putty in there, 15 minutes. I dry washed parts too, 20 minutes. Primer, 30-60 minutes. Lacquer paint, 2-3 hours. I had read not to put delicate 3D printed parts in it.
  13. My 1:1 '65 Belair was Willow Green, a great choice.
  14. I am glad to see him doing better. With my 2016 heart attack, bypass and 5 days in a coma, plus being kept cold to prevent brain damage, it was a long recovery. He will get there, it looks like he has good care behind him.
  15. Those are good. I had one that someone gave me, the cap had stripped out. I should look for that set and give the rest of mine away.
  16. I had used tack cloths made for the hobby for a very short while, I had fish-eyes as well. The tack cloths went right into the trash. I had a can of compressed air I was using to dust off models. Now I wash the bodies with soapy water rinse and give them 20 minutes in the dehydrator to dry. No dust.
  17. We have a nice weekly show at a church, there have been a few people told not to come back ever. There was an accident out front after I left one week. Another incident happened at a beach venue, someone got a Corvette smashed up leaving the venue. A couple also was killed last year making a high-speed pass going past the venue after they left. I grew up with fast cars and know how to drive and when to stand on the gas and when not to. My old Ford is pushing 425 HP and is fun to drive.
  18. Mr. Ivan from last night.
  19. What is it... maybe people are not used to RWD cars or the horsepower? I have a Mustang with the Ecoboost 2.3 liter, good for around 320 HP. Really not enough to get me into trouble. You have to be careful around crowds with hotter cars.
  20. This is the best forum around, I'm also on a NASCAR model forum. But for tips, tricks and seeing great models, this is the place. I was on another one but bailed with the constant bickering.
  21. I have never used gloves to handle models being painted. Read the box, maybe they have a silicone product in them?
  22. I will spot prime here and there if I'm adding locating details and doing general body clean up. I'll sometimes use the dehydrator to accelerate the drying. Usually it takes under an hour so I can handle it again.
  23. You really need a thermometer. My last one, I built it into the lid. I marked the dimmer dial where it hit the magic 105 number, but it is good to double check.
  24. 2019 Equinox, I got it late in 2023 on a Black Sunday sale. Loaded, leather interior, etc. I get over 28 MPG out of it most of the time.
  25. I have a Ronco I picked up a while back. No temp control and it runs 135 F. I have heard of guys putting holes in the cover to cool it down.
